Chapter 2 – Three Teachers

MARCH 21, 2020 ~ 2 COMMENTS

When I began to perceive that my name was Will. The gods began to quarrel.

Differences in my education began to emerge.

The all-purpose god who had picked me up that day, is the incarnation of everything. Nobody knows Reus’s true form.

In his current form as a stag, Reus said “Will is a gentle child. I want to raise him freely without being bound by anything on this mountain. He will be raised with no trace of dishonesty or deception.

The other gods agreed with this educational policy. However, the sword god Ronin dressed as an oriental samurai with an oriental sword hanging from his waste. Raised his sword and said. “It’s good to be free without being bound but a man needs his arm. Especially swordsmanship. I want him to learn swordsmanship and be the best swordsman.”

He gave me a handmade wooden sword. I shook the wooden sword with joy.

Miria who saw this, took the sword away and hugged me.

“What savagery are you talking about? This child is surrounded by mountains and animals, he will become a healer to heal their wounds. He will live peacefully as a beast healer. Swordplay, what savageness!” She said as she hugged me.

“What!” Ronin shouted.
“That’s right!” She retorted.

Ronin glared at Miria but knew it was a waste of time with this woman. Even though she was the goddess of healing she was on par with the sword god and so Miria was a very strong woman.

The goddess of healing, also known as the goddess of fertility, now lived in seclusion on Table mountain. However in the days of Jindai, the age of the gods. She took the lead in the fight against the evil gods and defeated many of them. She had no fear of the sword god.

An old man wearing a pointed hat, looked at these two people. He looked like a magician and in fact, he was a magician. He is called Vandal. The god of magic.

He seeks the truth in magic and withdrew to Table mountain. He began studying while burying himself into mountains of books.

According to Vandal, he had shaved his beard a few years ago and although he was the researcher immersed into magic type. He had a word into my educational policy too.

“This child is clever and intelligent. I want him to be my successor. I want to educate the strongest sage,” he said in a withered but powerful and determined voice.

In other words, the decisions toward my education was divided between the gods. Ronin the sword god, who wanted me to become a master in swordsmanship. Goddess Miria who wanted me to be a healer and the magical god Vandal who wanted me to pursue the path of magic.

Three people, three opinions. They were immovable in their decisions. Sparks began to scatter between the gods.

Immediately it looked as though gunpowder was about to be set off but someone who could mediate appeared. The all-purpose god Reus.

He is the lord of the gods on Table Mountain.

A god of infinite forms, but in the shape of a stag. “Do not fight in front of the child! If you want to fight more I will take Will and travel to another world,” he said with a dignified expression in his voice.

In fear of being deprived of their beloved child, rather than being angry at the lord god, the three stopped their claims.

-This lasted only a moment before Ronin swung down his sword causing vibrations and casually placed the wooden sword beside me. The fight reoccurred.

Miria put herbs near me, then Vandal placed a spell book. Then the old fashioned Vandal put a candy on top of the spell book and they began to fight.

Because they started to quarrel again. Reus the all purpose god had to say something. “hey, you guys, cool it down. Why are you trying to push your opinions so much?”

“It’s because he is so cute Reus. I want my cute child to inherit my abilities and make his mark on the world. Or rather, swordplay is the best. Surely, it will protect this child in the future.” Ronin answers.

“I agree with the first half of what you said but a kind heart is what will protect this child. The ability to heal his opponents will be what feeds this child’s future.” Miria answered.

Vandal nods, “Exactly, but it is knowledge that will save him. Knowledge of all things should make him happy.”

I understand that each of them loves me, but it doesn’t help me if they remain this way.

“I see. If this is the way we want to go, fighting is prohibited. If we fight, I will take Will away.” Reus declared.

Reus was one step ahead. “We will take turns to educate Will on a daily basis,” he declared.

“What does that mean?” The goddess Miria asked.

“In this sense, what I mean is that each of us will educate the child Will. Ronin will teach swordsmanship, Milia will teach healing and Vandal will teach magic.”

The gods heard his words.

“That’s true!” their faces spoke what they were thinking.

Reus who saw their expressions continued on.

“This will be the rule from now on. This child will get the best education from the strongest gods. He will soon grow up and so what kind of adult will he become?” he expressed. “He may have swordsmanship greater than the sword god, healing power greater than the goddess of healing, and magical power greater than the magical god. However, his swordsmanship may not be as good as Ronin, his healing inferior to Miria, and his magic may be half-hearted and not even close to Vandal’s skill.

But for now, this is irrelevant. The point is what kind of person will Will will be.

Reus wanted me to have a stronger mentality then physical strength. To have a strong heart that does not succumb to any enemy, a heart of justice that does not forgive evil and a heart of mercy that has compassion for the weak.

With those things in mind. Even if Will became the weakest man, he wouldn’t mind.

He decided to raise Will this way. Reus’s worries soon blew away after a few years.

As he grew from a baby to a toddler, Will showed tremendous strength.

Will began training in swordsmanship from morning until evening. One

One day when the sword god Ronin was training Will he said “”Will, cut through the huge tree in front of you and I’ll give you the dagger you wanted before.”

”Really?” Will rejoiced. He moved into position to cut the tree at once.

Similar to Ronin, he tried to make the tip of the sword flash but it was not easy.

– It would not come out. Will shook the wooden sword three times while trying to imitate Ronin, the tip of the wooden sword starts flashing.

A golden flash released from the wooden sword hitting the giant tree.

The giant tree shatters.

Looking at it, Ronin handed the dagger to Will: “-Well done. As promised, here’s the dagger.”

Will was delighted and went to show off the dagger to his fellow mountain-animals.

The goddess of healing appeared.

“What amazing talent, not just as a healer either but as a swordsman.” She praised Will as she stood beside Ronin.

Of course, he will continue to become a healer but Ronin didn’t need to hear that. Well not exactly into his ear.

Will’s tremendous talent surprised them.

Ronin walked towards the tree.
“…I said cut the tree but Will blew it to bits.” Robin told himself. He grinned as he grasped the broken pieces of wood.

Milia wanted him to be a healer, Vandal wants him to be a magician but Ronin wants to make Will the strongest swordsman.

Now seeing Will’s ridiculous talent, he renewed his determination.
