Will aged 7, winter.

I grew up quickly, absorbing the teachings of the gods. On *water dragon day I was at Ronin’s swordsman dojo. On *fire dragon day I was at Miria’s healing class and on *wooden day I was at Vandal’s magic class.

That is why today I was learning magic from my father Vandal.

Amongst the gods Vandal was known as a theorist. He didn’t suddenly give me a wooden sword like Ronin or begin concocting herbs properly like Miria.

First of all I began to read many history books. One day I was wondering why I was reading a history book that had nothing to do with magic.

“Why am I reading a history book and not a magic book?” I asked.

“The basis of magic lies in knowledge. To understand the vast system of magic, you need basic knowledge,” he continued on, “I want you to be smarter. To learn more and become a magician that can view things on a global scale. That’s why I am teaching you the basics in education.”

Vandal first taught me how to read and write and after that he taught me about the origins of this world, the history of the country and so on.

“The kingdom of Midonia is a historic powerhouse that rests at the heart of this world. Because it is in the centre of this world, it has always been involved in wars. However Table Mountain is a neutral zone within the country. Do you know why?”

“Because father and the others are here?”

“Correct. Table Mountain is the home of gods. We do not interfere with the lower world, so the lower world has unwritten laws to not interfere with us.”

“Unwritten laws?”

“I guess that is a difficult word for a child. Simply put there is such a rule.”

“I know the rules. Father Ronin’s rule is to drink everyday. Mother Miria’s rule is to look after your skin everyday.”

“My rule is to read a book everyday.”

“Mm! I am father Vandal’s apprentice so I will read one book everyday. Aren’t I good?”

Vandal tried to give me a picture book but I made a bitter face.

“Are you reading a picture book everyday? I guess I’ll run out. I’ll buy a new one the next time I go to the city. Now be patient.”

“No. I will read a book everyday with father Vandal.”

“What? With me?”

I pointed to the thick book within Vandal’s study.

“I read this yesterday.” What I pointed to was a magic book called the book of the fire dragon written by the ancient magician Cal Rahab.

“No way, this is written in an ancient magic language.”

“Isn’t this the ancient magic language that father Vandal speaks so well in?”

“But that’s me. Did you decipher this yourself?”

“Mm!” I nod cheerfully.

“I can’t believe this. Is that true?”

“It’s true. Then, I’ll show you. Give me a suitable page to try.”

“If so, page 211.”

“211? What is written there is a passage of fire magic written by Cal Rehab. It’s an original by Cal Rehab. Hmm, I think the incantation goes like this『يجوبان، لهب جوبان، لهب جوبان، لهب』.”

Vandal confirmed what I said in the book. “That’s correct. Will, did you remember this difficult book in just one day?”

“Because the content was small, it was difficult to remember. I read in my head to remember better.”

Vandal’s eyes narrowed. “Is this child a genius…?” he looked up and muttered. “…Incredible”

For the muttering Vandal to believe me I needed to take action.

“Some parts are still unclear but I can use magic in the spell book. Look.” Once I said this I opened the window and pointed outside toward a rock and casted firestorm magic. 《FIRESTORM》

A small flame appeared on my hand and swirled as it shot toward the rock. A storm of fire surrounded the rock 《FIRESTORM》burned vigorously.

“What, Will! How can you be using 《FIRESTORM》 at your age.” Vandal had a startled look but I was calm as I used the magic.

Vandal looked at Will as he mastered this magic with a calm but excited expression. This child was a genius.

Usually the earliest a child would begin learning magic was at the age of 7. It is only at 10 years old when they start learning the basic magic of 《IGNITION》, 《MEMOIR》and 《FIREBALL》.

He was 7 years old and already using 《FIRESTORM》. Moreover, he learned this himself without Vandal’s tutelage. Vandal was not this skillful when he was a kid.

In other words, this child has surpassed Vandal who has been declared a master and may be the first child in the past hundreds of years to show this kind of mastery.

Honestly, Vandal didn’t care when the all purpose god Reus brought this child. He wasn’t as excited as Ronin or Miria. No, on the contrary, he remembered having a disgusted face as he looked at the baby that reminded him of the *May fly.

But, how was it… his mind changed after touching the human child Will.

He knew that there were more talented and potential human children in this world in which the blood of the old tree runs through.

“This child may be able to find the truth within magic,” he muttered.

Other magicians, Sage-class magicians that are called the highest intelligence have challenged the truth within magic and not achieved it whereas this child may be able to aim for this truth where no one has been able to reach before. Thinking this Vandal’s cheeks loosened.

The temptation to be the the one to reach the truth, he realised he was less jealous than he thought he would be. Looking at Will’s carefree smile, this feeling disappears. He was happy with thought of his son being able to surpass him.

“Inumerable sages who had once challenged the truth of magic. Let’s declare this here now. My son is the one who will fulfill the wish of all magicians.” The magical god Vandal shouted in his heart and hugged his beloved son.
