Wu Fan sat on one side of a small, flat table, surrounded by a crowd of people. The tall 26 year old had short black hair, darker skin belonging to tropical climates, a playful smile gracing his face, revealing his pointed canines, and dark maroon eyes. When he was younger, his build was more willowy, but as the years passed by, he filled up with visible, dense muscle. If he looked like he did now, Qiu Xiao and Ling Xiu wouldn't have ever dared to let their guards down back at their first meeting. Right now, he was guzzling a whiskey down in front of a pile of cash he had won arm wrestling with the clientele.

Suddenly, a slim woman, about 170 cm tall to Wu Fan's 184 cm, amusedly called out, "Why don't I give arm wrestling you a try?"

The crowd jeered, "Little lady, you'd be better off letting us give you a try before you tried arm wrestling this monster. If strong men like us couldn't beat him, how could you?"

Wu Fan inwardly scolded the crowd, 'Yeah, a group of strong men like you, drinking at 3 PM, who clearly have no life! You were shocked silly a moment ago, where did your bravery come from?' The crowd cleared to reveal an unperturbed Wu Lan, and Wu Fan struggled to control his laughter. 'They picked the wrong young lady for sure, if they gave Wu Lan a try, she'll end their family's bloodline that very second for sure.' Putting on a serious face, he said, "Young lady, are you sure you want to do this?"

Mu Lan, playing along, said, "I don't know if I'll be able to beat you, but I'll give it a shot."

"Okay, but instead of betting money, how about the loser buys the other a drink?" Wu Fan said, wanting to keep the pile of cash he'd amassed.

"Deal," agreed Wu Lan, humoring him, and she put her arm up to the table. The crowd was still jeering vulgarities at her. A member of the crowd counted them off before they began, "3...2...1...Go!"

The moment the match started, Wu Lan and Wu Fan went full throttle, making an audible crack in the wooden table. Murmurs went through the crowd, now confused. A vein on Wu Fan's forehead popped out, Wu Fan knitted her eyebrows, and another crack resounded. The table wasn't going to last much longer. They were evenly matched. Wu Lan suddenly grabbed Wu Fan's whiskey bottle with her free hand, and directly took a swig from the bottle. Wu Fan's fist hit the table, and instead of a crack, a snap and a thud echoed through the now silent tavern. The table had split in half, and half of it fell to the ground, along with Wu Fan. The crowd looked on, now in shock, as Wu Lan took another swig of the whiskey. Just like the first time Wu Lan had defeated Wu Fan, he began laughing again, "It's been too long, Lan."

"Are you going to buy me that drink, oh brother of mine?" she asked, holding a hand out for Wu Fan to get up with.

He took it, lifting her off the ground in an embrace, and replied, "Aren't you already drinking my whiskey?"

Wu Lan snorted, handing the whiskey back to Wu Fan, "If I knew that it counted, I wouldn't have drunk your cheap-a*s whiskey, why don't we go drink some real alcohol?" She leisurely walked over to the bartender and slid him a black membership card.

The bartender coolly inspected the card and said, "Right this way, esteemed guest, we have a private room prepared for you and your companion."

As the bartender led Wu Fan and Wu Lan away, the crowd was whispering to each other, "Hey, what was that card that the girl gave to the bartender for him to treat her so well? Dragon establishments are notorious for treating everyone impartially," one fellow said.

Another man, presumably someone who frequented the tavern daily, said, "Ha, don't you know? There have been rumours of a special black card you can get for Dragon establishments if you are well acquainted with the owner of the Dragon franchise. Apparently there are only 10 circulating cards right now." The Dragon franchise existed longer than any human on Earth remembered, and it had already become ingrained in society to the point of an infestation. In every major city, you could find a Dragon tavern, inn, or restaurant. Dragon taverns would open up near war zones to service all soldiers, regardless of allegiance, and even had their own small army full of experts called the "Dragon Legion," which supposedly even had races other than humans. They were rumored to be very well connected in the underworld, so no organization would dare to offend them, either. As a result, the question that was circulating between everyone in the room at that moment was this: Who were those insanely strong people to hold an exclusive card for such an establishment?
