"Shit," Vraaz said. "It's a Droxen," he revealed. The others looked at him in confusion. They didn't have great knowledge of monsters, at least not like Vraaz. Vraaz had lived for fifteen years, so he had seen a great deal. He had even adventured out in the world.
"It's a very dangerous creature, usually around level twenty to thirty. We can probably kill it, but it will be dangerous. Then again, we don't have much of a choice. If it manages to ambush one of the other parties, or reach the cave, lives will be lost. We must kill it," Vraaz whispered to the others, then continued to explain to them a plan. A short moment later, four Goblins spread out, while Min remained with Vraaz. She was still the weakest of them, being level ten. The average levels amongst the Goblin hunting party was 15, and Gobu was even close to level 20. Upon reaching level 20, he would become a Hobgoblin. Naturally, Vraaz was at an even higher level.
A few more moments passed. Min and Vraaz nocked their arrows and aimed for the weak points of the monster. Vraaz was a masterful archer, and while Min was still the weakest archer amongst them, even compared to Gobu, who was more of a berserker, she was still a bit skilled.
Vraaz made a sound, mimicking an owl, and Min quickly aimed her arrow, pulled back with experienced speed, and let go! Six arrows pierced through the air, lodging themselves deep into the beast! Then another six flew out, and yet another six, wounding the beast even further, this all in the span of two seconds! The first six arrows had all struck very precisely, but the rest had hit rather sloppily, since they didn't take time to aim.
Then, Vraaz charged out at his fastest speed, his two daggers in hand, and not a moment later, Gobu followed, with his large, metal club in his hand. The Droxen was already heavily wounded, with eighteen arrows sticking out of it. Vraaz rolled under the Droxen beast, and stabbed his two daggers into its throat, while Gobu clubbed the creatures behind with his massive weapon! However, the Droxen was quick witted and sharply agile; it struck out with its hind legs, and bashed out with its oversized head! Vraaz, however, was no pushover, and quickly dodged to the side, evading the rushed attack! Gobu, on the other hand, was a brute and was struck by the edge of the sharp hooves! He was sent flying into a nearby tree, splintering and felling it in the process.
Gobu spat out a mouthful of blood, but was quick to his legs. His endurance was his greatest attribute, and though the damage seemed high, it was only meeker, at best; painful, but in no way debilitating. He charged straight back at the huge beast, and so did Vraaz!
Gobu struck once more, hitting the animal in the neck, while Vraaz rolled under it yet again, launching two quick, yet weak slashes at the belly! However, the belly was still the weakest part of the animal, and therefore the hardest to reach. A large amount of blood splattered to the ground, dirtying even Vraaz!
Meanwhile, Min and the others were sending flurries of arrows at the Droxen. A lucky shot flew out, hitting it straight in the eye, making the Droxen shriek in horrid pain, causing to everyone hold their ears! However, Vraaz was not one to let such an opportunity slip, and charged at the newly created blind spot, embedding his two daggers deep into its neck, sending another spurt of blood into his face! Gobu followed, and struck at the head with all his might, bashing the head straight into the ground! A splatter of blood and brain matter covered the already bloody ground, as the beast finally drew its last breath, dead.

Everyone walked out from the trees in a daze, while Vraaz and Gobu just stared at the dead beast. Suddenly, Gobu started laughing like a maniac.
"Hahaha, HAHAHAHA!" The others, too, started having looks of amazement.
"Wow… Wow, wow, wow, wooaaaaw!" Min exhaled.
"That number, it's so big, so big! Min even levelled up! Min still needed a whole lot of XP to level up, but she did anyway! Cool, cool! So cool!" She exclaimed, jumping around uncontrollably. She even slipped and fell head first into the mud!
"Haha, you leveled? Well, I leveled up too! I LEVELED UP! I'm level 20! TWENTY! I can finally evolve, finally! FINALLY!" Gobu announced, having completely lost his cool. Much like Min, he started running around, so excited that the prospect of not doing something physically exerting didn't even exist in his mind.
Suddenly he stopped, and he looked into the nothingness with a deadly serious expression that could even cause the most hardened Goblin warriors to swallow their own bravery. A bright light shone down from the heavens, brightening his body to a degree it had never before experienced.
Then, his body started growing. His legs lengthened, and his torso stretched. His arms elongated and his neck grew. Then he started bulking. Every limb on his body grew thicker, more muscular. Thick abs grew on his torso and stomach, and his biceps toned. Soon, he stood even a great deal taller than Vraaz, almost comparable to a human in size. However, his bulkiness outshone that of even the most hardened humans. He had grown from his past size of 120cm and about 50kg, to the size of more than 160cm and almost 200kg! He almost seemed like a dwarfish Ogre!
His face had also grown more Orcish in appearance. His nose had grown larger, and his fangs grew out of his mouth. His ears, however, had somewhat shortened in length. Normal Goblins and Hobgoblins had ears comparable to an elf's, growing past the top of the head. Naturally, they had great hearing, too.
However, still long, they had grown shorter than that of a normal Hobgoblins.
Everyone looked at him in awe; especially Vraaz.
"What the hell! You're huge! What's your race?!" He asked, flabbergasted. Gobu remained silent for a moment.
"Orcish Hobgoblin," he said, equally as confused as Vraaz.
"Are you kidding me? What the hell, did your mother fuck an Orc?" He asked, almost angry for no reason.
"The hell should I know? My mother died at birth," he said.
"However, if that what's brought this blessing, I'm glad she did! I got an extra 5 points in Strength from this, in addition to the normal bonuses from becoming a Hobgoblin!" He said. Now, Vraaz was even more annoyed.
"Really? That's so unfair! The heavens are unfair! Unfair!" He said. Then, by a 180 turn, he calmed down as if nothing had happened.
"Anyone else level up? Min, you did, right? Assign your points, so we can get going… and don't forget Constitution this time…" he said.
"I levelled up too," Bob said with a smile, as he assigned his points.
"Actually, Master Eledor forbid Min from assigning any points until he returns," Min said nonchalantly. She hadn't really considered his words, since it wasn't really her way to put thought into things. Took too much energy. She thought it'd just be easier to do as he told her and wait.
"What? Why'd he tell you to do that? Actually, what level are you now?" Vraaz asked.
"Hmm, Min isn't sure why. He did say something about making Min his servant though. Also, Min is level one and one, now that she levelled up again," Min revealed. Everyone looked at her in shock!
"What?! He's going to make you a servant? But, but, you're supposed to be hunting with us! We just got you too, but we're going to lose you to some snobbish elf in a month?! No fair!" The new Orcish Hobgoblin, Gobu, said.
"Really? Well, shit! Makes you wonder what he's planning with you, though. You were level 10 when he left, leaving you with nine unspent points. He could have just told you to keep some free until he came back, but he asked you to save them all. I hope he isn't going to make you put them all into something like Intelligence and Wisdom, or even Strength. You're suited to be a ranger, or some other Agility based class, not a mage" Vraaz wondered aloud.
Min didn't say anything, but only thought about it in her own head, but after not coming up with any better ideas after two and half seconds, she gave up and decided to let destiny do what destiny does.
Thus, the party of four Goblins and two Hobgoblins returned home. They didn't hunt any further, since the enormous deer-like animal was equal to a dozen other animals, anyways. Also, there was no way Gobu would be able to carry it on his own. The creature was huge! Three meters tall, five meters long. It had to weigh at least a 1000 kilos, or a metric ton! All six Goblins had to join hands to carry the thing, including Min. Together, they managed to get it home after several hours.
And, oh boy, the commotion that followed. Not only had they returned with the largest creature the tribe had seen in decades, but they had also arrived with a Hobgoblin! Hobgoblins were extraordinarily rare. In the entire clan, including the ones who were out traveling, there were only a few dozen Hobgoblins. However, the tribe numbered hundreds upon hundreds of regular Goblins! And to add on that, Hobgoblins lived for twice as long as your average Goblin. More than half of the Hobgoblins were even older than the oldest Goblin.
Thus, a great celebration entailed, with a great feast! The Droxen was served for those of the highest status as well as the hunters who killed it, while everyone else received meat from normal animals, like the deer and rabbit, or even the wolf.
The Garo family enjoyed their two shares of Droxen meat, and Min told a greatly exaggerated story of how she had slain the mighty Droxen titan! She explained to them how it was "two five meters tall" and "many five meters long!" She told them how it's brown fur had been thicker than her head and sharper than knives, and how her amazing arrows had pierced all the way through the great beast, piercing even its heart! She told them how its clawed hooves had been larger than her body and had left huge, several meter-deep holes in the ground! Although this part of the story was a bit contradicted by the fact that one of those very hooves were on their very table…
Even though Min wasn't very smart, she was still good at making ridiculously overblown stories…
All in all, her story made her parents laugh uncontrollably, made Mila look at her like her intelligence was below her, and made Gibb look at her in the greatest amazement! He was the only one stupid enough to believe her greatly overblown story.
"Hahaha, that's a good story Min. However, this does worry me. There have never been any beasts like the Droxen in this forest, and if it's true that the wounds on Gobu's body were very similar to those you saw on that bear's, then it's likely that there are more. That, added together with the note Vraaz found on those humans, and the elves… I fear something sinister is brooding…" Garo said. He would never discuss this with normal Goblins, but he felt that he owed an obligation to his family.
"Min, I urge you, be very careful when you're out hunting. I don't want to lose a daughter after spending so, so many years getting you," he said.
"But dad, couldn't it just be the same Droxen that wounded the bear?" Min asked.
"Unlikely. You killed the bear a great distance away from where you killed the Droxen. It's unlikely the Droxen would wander so far," he revealed. His words couldn't help but worry Min. She realized that they had killed the Droxen easily enough this time, however, if a Droxen was to ambush them, they might even die. Especially she, the weakest of them.
"Min promises she'll be very, very careful! She'll always keep her ears up," Min said, for once having a serious tone in her voice, although it was somewhat ruined by her high, cutesy voice and her speaking in third person.
"That's my girl," Garo said with a smile.
"Here, eat up," he then continued, and gave her a large piece of meat. Then he immediately gave his other two children equally large pieces of meat. He doted very much on his children, and didn't hold favourites. In his eyes, all his children were special, and they all had their flaws.
Min was unnaturally talented as an archer and blades wielder and had naturally high stats, but she was stupid as a donkey. Gibb was naturally strong and had a great knack as a miner. One day, he might even become the mining leader or even a talented blacksmith. However, regarding intelligence, he wasn't much better off than Min. Mila, on the other hand, was smart as a whip and shrewd as a fox. She learned exceptionally quickly, and she had even reached level 10 in two skills! She had already reached level 13 in Gardening and level 11 in Herblore, and more recently, she had reached level 3 in alchemy. Reaching level 10 in two skills gave her a total of 2000 XP, which had allowed her to reach level 6. Now she worked as a mage and alchemist in training. Her intelligence was high; however, her other stats were much lower. In a fight, she wouldn't do very well, at least not until learning any combat spells. Right now, however, she didn't know a single spell, be it combat, utility or healing — not even one.
After the feast, the celebration continued. The main cavern was filled with archaic music, strung from simple stringed instruments and leather drums, and lots of singing from the merry Goblins. Boys and girls, and men and women danced around the fire, and everyone was having a fun time. Min didn't hurt so much in her butt anymore, so she danced merrily too. She danced with her brother, with her hunting mates and with other guys too, even some that she didn't know.

If a Goblin who had no family or just had low status became mate with someone powerful or someone with a powerful family, both he and his family would become part of the powerful family. However, if two Goblins who were both from powerful families, then those two families would enter into alliance and both strengthen in power and status.
The Goblin from the weaker family would also become a true member of the more powerful family. Thus, the pair's offspring would belong mainly to the more powerful family. However, the alliance would last even after the death of the two Goblins, until it was either broken, or they just decided to become one.
And this Kazz was the son of a Hobgoblin, and thus, from a powerful family, although they were still weaker than Garo. Garo was one of the strongest Hobgoblins in the tribe, after all. Thus, Min saw him as a great mate! Even though she was not very smart, Garo had repeatedly told his children what to look for in a mate. Mila had naturally understood right away, but Gibb and especially Min had needed a bit more schooling to understand.
Thus, Min walked away happily with him, letting him lead her to his home.
"What, you fought the Droxen?" Kazz asked, shocked, when Min had mentioned it. Most Goblins would not know that it was a Droxen, but all Hobgoblins would, and they would naturally tell their children what they were eating.
"Yes, Min helped kill it! It was very fun and exciting! You should have been there," she said, as she hugged Kazz's arm tighter.
"No way, I wouldn't have lasted a minute! I'm not like you, I can't stand at a range and shoot arrows. I'd have to get close, and then I'd die," he said with a sheepish grin.
"That's only natural. There's no way the likes of us could beat a Droxen! Their level is way too high! I can't even count that high! Well, I also can't count to my own level…" Min said a bit embarrassed that she couldn't count to high numbers. That was because earlier Kazz had revealed that he could count pretty high. He had even told her what the number of her level was called, although she had already forgotten it.
"Haha, you should put some points into intelligence. Not many people do it, but it makes life a lot easier. Somehow, counting past five just seems convenient to me, ya know?" He said.
"Yeah, but Master Eledor said that Min couldn't use her points until he returns," Min revealed, a bit downcast. Kazz was a bit shocked though.
"Wait what? Master Eledor? Who is this Master Eledor?" He asked, a bit suspicious.
"You remember those elves that came the other day? Min met them when she was lost outside. Master Eledor is their leader, and he told Min to call him Master Eledor, and said he was going to make her a servant or something. You know, if you make Min happy, Min might ask him to make Kazz his personal door guard or something," she said with a wink or a smirk.
"That way we can spend more time together too," she continued, before giving him a seductive kiss on the cheek, causing Kazz to blush.
"Haha, Kazz is cute!" Min said, only causing him to blush further.
"You're one to talk! You're the cutest thing I've ever seen," Kazz said, not shying back in the slightest. This time, it was Min's time to blush.
"You mean that?" She asked, almost in a whisper.
"Of course!" Kazz replied, not a hint of doubt in his voice. Min squealed and gave him a long kiss on the mouth. She was a bit surprised when she was pushed to the wall of the tunnel and felt a tongue enter her mouth.
