I tried to arrive 30 minutes earlier, but to my surprise the assisting personnel informed me of his arrival an hour earlier than the proposed time. I tried calming down my agitated nerves, as I am about to enter the room.

---

Tension.

It's stronger than what I've expected to handle. I sit at the opposite side of his, the menu's being readied by the resto. And all we could do is sit in silence.

Should it be me?

Should I be the one to break this ultimately awkward and deafening silence? Or would he want to do it but he doesn't know how?

He called me "breathtaking" and I'm guessing he was too embarrassed to say anything. I'll admit his gentle gestures of offering me a sit was beyond my expectations. I can't even believe that with my own two eyes I'll be able to witness the CEO and heir of Yuan Empire to be 'shy' quite far from the feedbacks that I've gathered through background checking.

I've heard of incredible rumors that says he's a man made of ice. He's a man who doesn't care about somebody else's business as long as he's not affected by it. They say he doesn't have emotions so he lacks the luxury of showing or expressing what/how he feel, thus they say he doesn't care about people's feelings.

It's a pity somehow, but I know the feeling of feeling nothing. I am just the female version of him as what they say. I don't know if I'll be offended or if I'll be delighted to know that we have common similarities.

The door opens, cutting my inner debate of attempting to start a conversation.

"Greetings young master Yuan and young miss Ming, I am chef Luo and it's a pleasure to serve our honourable guests today. These dishes serve as the core foundation of our success, it is a family recipe that has been passed through generations. Enjoy your meal."

The dishes were expertly crafted from its almost unnoticeable parts up to its main highlights.

I lift up my fork to get a piece of beef steak, but we stake the same piece ironically.
