A smile almost made its way to the corner of my lips, but he cough loudly to cover up another awkwardly moment.
I pulled the fork, and let him take the piece. But it seems like he never run out of surprises, as he elegantly grabbed my plate, then he put the steak on it and cut it into tiny bits before returning my plate back. I stared at him, trying to suppress a light hearted laugh.
"Thank you" I softly responded
"Don't bother" but he arrogantly retorted
It should have been fine, but his comebacks make me think twice otherwise. Is this how he masks things? Trying to hide his real colours in a facade that shows narcissism and arrogance? What a show.
"Shall we talk about the legal documents in accordance with the agreement that you and my brother made for marriage?"
He abruptly halted. His body turn stiff and rigid. His face turned cold.
"Yes we shall, as I assume you are already aware of the situation that you're in. Do you have any questions, violent reactions or musings about the reforms?"
I gently lowered the utensils that I'm holding and grab the wine that's settled in front of him. He glances at my motion, but nothing passes my sight.
"You shouldn't drink when you haven't eaten half of what is served." He started eating again.
Pathetically controling, I see, but we're not yet married and there's no way that his lectures would affect me. I smirk at his unacceptable comment.
"I never thought you'll be this meticulous when it comes to fine dining Mr. Yuan." He ignored my words.
"So which part would you want to clarify about the papers?" He motioned
"I want to know if there would be a merger after the marriage, the stocks showed a good progress if the companies merge. It will also be suggested by the board members, as they would want a good increase both in salary and benefits. What do you think?"
"Business is business, we shall discuss this thoroughly"
"I agree" a smile curved from his lips, we might be thinking of the same thing. @@
