The Princess was back from her archery training. She was drenched in sweat and dust since it was a hot day. She was training outside the Royal grounds accompanied by Chaitanya -her horse. She was walking into her chamber. Her mother, the empress Padmini was waiting for her. Seeing her mother, Samyukta gave a respectful bow and greeted her ' Good evening mother, 'she always followed the Royal protocol. Padmini received her daughter with a hug. She looked at her tired countenance. Even covered with dust and sweat, Samyukta exuded a graceful charishma.
Padmini called out for the palace maids and asked them to assist Samyukta in cleaning up.
The Princess was lead into her bathing chambers. The maids oiled her supple skin with oil and applied a fragrant bathing paste made out of herbal ingredients. They washed her long black curly hair, her willowy body and dressed her in delicate silks.
They dried her hair and adorned her hair with fragrant flowers. Then she went to meet her mother. Padmini was pleased with Samyukta's appearance.Truly Samyukta was the most beautiful girl she had ever seen.
Padmini always felt that they should find a suitable husband for Samyukta from a royal family and marry her off. But the emperor thought otherwise. He was very sure that only Samyukta could carry out the rule after him and further glorify the name of Chandra dynasty.
