Yang Yi was awakened the next day by the bell. He took a glance at Chris before he climbed out of bed.

Chris expression was sullen and his eyes were red when he sat up on his bed.

“What you didn’t sleep last night? Are you that frail?”

Chris lifted his head to look at Yang Yi and started shaking his head, “No, I won’t get duped by you. I will definitely not seek you out. Never!”

Yang Yi went to wash his face and said in a perfunctory manner after brushing his teeth, “It’s up to you. I have already said the choice is yours.”

Chris grinded his teeth and said, “I will get a chance after I pass the test? That’s just ridiculous. Who do you think you are? You can hit me. You can even kill me but don’t insult my intelligence!”

After gargling, Yang Yi wiped his face with his towel and smiled, “It’s your choice.”

Chris sat back on his bed and answered loudly, “I will answer you right now. I refuse!”

Yang Yi didn’t say anything after that and just smiled. He then stood up and waited at the cell door to leave. He would be moving over to the felony section today. Yang Yi wasn’t going to waste his time entertaining Chris.

Yang Yi believed Chris would definitely seek him out in the felony section later. The reason was simple. He knew exactly what Chris desired the most.

Although Chris could easily make a lot of money after he was released from prison. He still wouldn’t be able to get back what he had lost since the thing he wanted most wasn’t money. It was due to this reason that Yang Yi could bait the talented swindler.

No one could give Chris what he desired. Even Yang Yi wouldn’t be able to give it to him. However, this wouldn't stop Yang Yi from scamming Chris.

Even still, a part of what Yang Yi said was the truth. Although Yang Yi needed manpower, he couldn’t just go around recruiting any Tom, Dick and Harry. Thus, he could only give Chris a chance through a test. Moreover, Yang Yi didn’t have to fulfil his promise to Chris anyway if he couldn’t pass the test.

After all, it would only be a scam if Yang Yi couldn’t deliver on his promise after Chris had passed the test. If Chris failed, it would at most be considered verbal entrapment. The whole matter was just a fishing attempt. It didn’t really matter if Chris was ensnared or not.

Yang Yi was excited. He was finally moving over to the felony section and was about to meet Zhang Yong. Moreover, it would also allow him to maintain an aloof presence and not pay Chris any attention.

Indeed, Chris did feel conflicted when he saw Yang Yi seemingly unperturbed.

When the cell door finally opened, Chris suddenly stood up and directly asked Yang Yi,  “On what basis can you claim that you’ll be able to fulfill my desires? How can you backup your claim?”

Yang Yi didn’t bother answering Chris. He just smirked at him before leaving the cell. Chris didn’t follow behind Yang Yi instead he slowly marched along with the crowd to breakfast.

There was no longer anyone who dared to jeer at Yang Yi when they saw him. Even the gang members who had always been supercilious were giving him due respect.

*****

In the canteen, there was still someone collecting food from other inmates. However, it was no longer done by the Boxing King’s gang. The men who used to be under the Boxing King had dispersed and were looking for a new backer.

The Black men had their own gangs. Although Yang Yi had disposed off the Boxing King, it was impossible for his men to turn to Yang Yi as their new backer. Since Yang Yi had emerged victorious, no one in the light offender section dared to mess with him. It was a pity he would be leaving soon.

An inmate cautiously moved to sit beside Yang Yi while he was eating and asked, “Sir, do you want more milk or bread?”

Yang Yi looked at the inmate and shook his head, “I don’t need anything.”

The inmate left with his tray feeling disappointed. At the same time, Buddy sat down next to him with a plastic bag. “Don’t you have any plans to gather underlings? Now that you have killed the Boxing King, there are many who want to seek your protection.”

Yang Yi shrugged and said, “I do but I am leaving this section soon. It’s best not to take their stuff when I can’t offer them protection. I am very fair and I have my principles.”

Buddy placed the plastic bag in front of Yang Yi and said, “Your cigarettes. You won forty packs. Both you and I made a killing. Congrats to the both of us!”

Yang Yi looked at Buddy and smiled, “Shouldn’t it be forty four packs?”

“There’s a cut for the bet. Bro, I have given you your winnings. Goodbye.”

Yang Yi looked at Buddy and said, “Thanks bro!”

Buddy hurriedly said, “Don’t thank me. It’s the prize you deserve and you earned. You don’t have to say anything else. Goodbye.”

Buddy wasn’t willing to let anyone know he helped Yang Yi in his fight with the Boxing King. Although his assistance wasn’t apparent, Buddy couldn’t afford to let anyone know he had broken his stance on absolute neutrality.

Yang Yi didn’t examine the cigarettes inside the plastic bag because the vast majority of the inmates had lost. Of course, there were those who had made a fortune too.

After that, there was a continuous stream of inmates who came over to offer Yang Yi cigarettes or their best food in exchange for his protection. However, Yang Yi declined all the offers.

Chris hadn’t appeared even at the end of breakfast. Just when Yang Yi was about to follow the crowd outside, a guard approached him, “3387, because of your violent tendencies, you will be moved to the felony section.”

Yang Yi naturally took the cigarettes he had won with him. Since it was the prison’s hard currency, even the guards would acknowledge the unspoken rule and not confiscate any cigarettes.

After returning to his cell to retrieve his toiletries and blanket, Yang Yi went to change his bright orange-red prison uniform before he was sent over to the felony section.

*****

The cell block and canteen for the felony section were separated from the light offender section. The only common areas shared between sections were the recreation field and shower area. Even then, the facility usage time slots for both section were different. Yang Yi hoped he would be moved before the felony section underwent their free activity period so that he could look for Zhang Yong as soon as possible.

Fortunately for him, Yang Yi had been moved over to the felony section before their free activity period started.

When the warden escorted him past the cells, Yang Yi quickly came to realize the difference between the felony section and light offender section. Although all the felons’ eyes were different, none of them could conceal the viciousness present in their eyes.

“Hey, babe! Look over here and give me a smile!”

“Hey monkey! Do you want some bananas?”

Yang Yi was very young and handsome. As a newcomer, he was taunted and mocked as he passed by the cells until he passed by an Asian.

The Asian was in his thirties and sat quietly in his cell. He had only given Yang Yi a glance when he passed by.

The man should be Zhang Yong since he matched the description given by Danny. Yang Yi never expected he would so easily stumble upon Zhang Yong since the felony section was rather huge and was even divided into much smaller blocks.

Yang Yi had stopped subconsciously but immediately resumed walking. He shouldn’t be hasty since there wasn’t any reason to be so.
