The Difference Between Cloud and Mud [18]

“Relying on the strong to bully the weak doesn’t just depend on the person’s strength but also on the brain. Our Dong Ling’s brain is definitely stronger than theirs by many times!”

“Young miss enjoys teasing people. Next time Dong Ling will shut her mouth up and not speak!”

Huang Bei Yue shook her head, slightly smiling. Her mood was unbelievably nice and looked outside at Xiao Yun who acted recklessly, trying to argue against the common people. She thought in her heart that after all Xiao Yun was still a sixteen years old girl who was arrogant and not knowing when to advance or retreat. Compared to Concubine Xue’s endurance, Xiao Yun was obviously lacking in that.

“Dong Ling, let’s go out.” Huang Bei Yue sat up and placed her hand over to Dong Ling’s for her to hold onto her. She opened the curtains, walking out.

“Second sister, now that things have been approached to this, just calm down for a bit.”

Xiao Yun was unsatisfied that she was misunderstood by people and was angrily trying to explain to them. Suddenly, a clear and graceful voice sounded from the back. The noisy common people immediately quieted down.

They had only seen a young girl who was wearing a light blue dress with white rabbit fur draped over her shoulders and a lavender flower cloak come out from the prefecture of Princess Zhang’s horse carriage, helped down by a maid.

She had a graceful figure and seemed as though she moved along the wind. The black hairs as though the first-rate brocade, combing the hairs into a simple cross-shaped bun that was rolled up, only separating it with a light bead flower.

She was small in age, only about eleven or twelve. The young and tender face, however, had begun to reveal an extraordinary and magnificent beautiful face without the use of makeup. The eyes as though the stars, the lips as though the peach blossom. The elegant face had led people to gasp in admiration.

Although she was young her body contained a royal and elegant scent. With every gesture and look, those who had look at her unconsciously had fallen under her feet.

The quiet common people who had seen her instantly became rowdy once more.

This time, they were even more excited and crazier than they were towards Xiao Yun.

“This is Princess Bei Yue! This is Princess Bei Yue who is Princess Zhang’s descendant ah!”

“Really? This is the first time I’ve seen Princess Bei Yue up close. She really does have the demeanor of Princess Zhang from the past ah!”

“Princess Bei Yue, Princess Bei Yue who had defeated the evil girl, Xue Meng ah!”

The excited and crazy people all rushed over, completely forgetting about Xiao Yun on the back of their mind.

Xiao Yun stared with her wide eyes and open mouth at the people who had looked at her in disdain just before and now they had completely ignored her! They all piled over to the horse carriage, all saluting and paying their respects to Huang Bei Yue.

“Princess ah, please take the fruits. Princess Zhang had done my whole family a favor and this is just my meager regards. Princess, please don’t dislike this.”

“And mine, Princess, and mine!”

“Me too! Princess, you had defeated Xue Meng and done a favor for my daughter! We are thankful to you! Please accept these cloth materials!”

Huang Bei Yue and Dong Ling had never thought that the common people would be that out of control. Dong Ling was not exposed to this before and moved back, out of fright. It was Huang Bei Yue who still remained calm. She hadn’t rejected the gifts from people who had done so out of kindness. Each one, she personally took it over from them. She thanked them.

She held a royal scent and her gestures were graceful yet so easily approachable to the common people. She was just like Princess Zhang from the past.

The common people, one after the other, saluted and greeted her. The common people who were far in the distance, having heard of the news, all hurried over. Huang Bei Yue was beginning to get worried as the number of people increased.

More people had come over. If it was like this, then they probably can’t even leave even after dark.

She didn’t feel apathetic towards the common people, after all, they were just normal people. Towards Princess Zhang, everyone harbored a feeling of gratitude. To her, they probably had shifted over their grateful passion from Princess Zhang over.

No matter how cold her heart was, towards the people who were genuinely thankful towards her and Princess Zhang, she didn’t have it in her heart to drive them away.
