Yang Yun spent a few days in seclusion to think over what he wanted to do. When he finally went out of his room, Yang Yun could see the worry in his mother's eyes. In the afternoon, Yang Yun accompanied his mother for breakfast. Lui Qing Xin prepared a lot of Yang Yun's favorite food. Her appetite increased as it has been a long time since she ate with both her child.

However, Liu Qing Xin's appetite in the middle of their meal, when Yang Yun announced that he was going away for a few weeks. Liu Qing Xin placed the chopstick in her hand down as she spoke, "Yang Yun, you, where are you going?"

Yang Yun's expression softened as he saw his mother's worried gaze. "Don't worry. I will return after two weeks."

Liu Qing Xin stared at her son for a few seconds before she slowly nodded. There are a lot of things she wanted to ask and say, but the words stayed at the tips of her tongue. She was anxious that Yang Yun wanted to leave considering the state he was in in the past few months.

But as she looked at her son, Liu Qing Xin noticed that Yang Yun's gaze was no longer empty. She then decided to trust that Yang Yun will not do something stupid and will return within two weeks.

"Alright," Liu Qing Xin sighed and slowly nodded. "As long as you look after yourself and return safely."

Yang An gaze switched between her mother and brother. She chewed the food in her mouth quietly and swallowed. "Brother, where are you going?"

"There's something I have to find," Yang Yun said.

Yang An opened her mouth to ask further but stopped herself when her mother started to give her a look.

After their meal, Yang Yun went back to his room and started packing. He planned to head out before the sun got too high. Yang Yun was going to head back to the place where Mingyue had disappeared and look for some clues. He had not returned to the scene after Mingyue had vanished.

Back then, under the Crown Princess' order, a few soldiers had stayed around to look for clues and found nothing. Although Yang Yun was not confident that he would find something new at the scene, he still wanted to come and take a look.

Yang Yun mounted on the horse and headed towards the mountains. Looking at the sky, Yang Yun guessed that he would probably arrive at the scene before the sky turned dark. Yang Yun had been riding on the horse for hours when he decided to take a quick break.

Once he reached a small stream. Yang Yun fed the horse with some treats and let the horse to the stream for freshwater. Then he took shelter under a shady tree and ate food that his mother had packed for him earlier. His lips curved into a smile as he looked at the food in the food box. Everything was meticulously prepared. There was some bread and dried meat enough for two weeks in the sack.

His heart ached again at the thought of his mother. Yang Yun made a promise to himself that he will treat his mother better when he returned. Yang Yun ate silently and paused when he heard a noise. He put down his meal and climbed on a tree to scout the area.

A frown appeared on his face as Yang Yun watched a carriage from Qian Rong headed towards the border. What attracted his attention was the escorting soldiers. Yang Yun could tell that those two dozen men were from General Jiang Xiao Xian's command. There were a few other guards belonged to Qian Rong.

Yang Yun had not paid any attention to what happened in Da Cheng, but he could make a rough guess. The last time he accompanied Princess Lingchen in the Spring Hunt, Prince Lu Wei of Qian Rong was severely injured after a tiger attacked him. Yang Yun deduced that Prince Lu Wei had stayed in Da Cheng to recuperate and now that his body had healed, the Prince will return to Qian Rong.

They were escorting the Prince to the border, why would General Jiang send his men? Do they need that much security?

After a few minutes of observing the procession, Yang Yun climbed down the tree. However, his movement halted as he noticed a few men dressed in black trailing the carriage in secret. Yang Yun's frown deepened as he wondered whether the men in black were following the Prince's carriage with good or bad intention.

Just as he pondered over the question, Yang Yun saw a familiar silhouette belonged to Mingyue's second brother, Jiang Xiao Tian, among the men dressed in a black outfit. Because he stood at the side to instruct one of his men, Yang Yun could see his side profile.

As if sensing Yang Yun's gaze, Jiang Xiao Tian stopped in the middle of his speech and turned towards the direction where Yang Yun was hiding. However, he could not see anyone.

"Master. What's wrong?" one of the men asked as he noticed Jiang Xiao Tian's action.

Jiang Xiao Tian shook his head. "Nothing. Continue to follow Prince Lu Wei's carriage. Before Prince Lu Wei crossed Da Cheng's border, we cannot allow any mistake to happen."
