Lin Mingyue marveled at the food in the lunch box. It was a complete meal with three side dishes and soup. Yang Yun even prepared a small cake for dessert!

She turned to Yang Yun and hesitated. "You make all these?"

Yang Yun nodded to reply. "Except for the cake, everything else was made by me." He held out a chopstick. "Try them and see if they suit your taste."

Mingyue picked up her chopstick and clipped a piece of chicken. She took a bite and chewed slowly.
As the taste spread into her mouth, Lin Mingyue found that the taste was a bit familiar, but she could not pinpoint where she had experienced the same taste.

"Is it good?" Yang Yun asked.

"Hmm. It's delicious." Mingyue snapped out of her trance and nodded. Then, she began to sample on other side dishes absentmindedly. After a while, she looked at Yang Yun. "Are you sure these are not store-bought?"

Yang Yun's face darkened instantly. "Of course not. Xue Yi Ming can testify that I prepared these dishes myself."

Seeing the change in Yang Yun's mood, Lin Mingyue put down her chopstick and smiled. "I just thought that the taste was a bit familiar."

Yang Yun halted. His blood rushed at her comment. Yang Yun had hope that by preparing those meal and let his wife sample them, it will help Mingyue to recover her memory.

Moreover, Yang Yun had sprinkled some medicine prepared by Chief Ye into the dishes. He can only hope that the effect would be faster.

"Aren't you eating as well?" Lin Mingyue asked.

"I've eaten my portion earlier with Xue Yi Ming."

Lin Mingyue lowered her gaze as she clipped on cabbage dishes. "Next time, you should eat with me. It's not fun to eat alone."

Yang Yun tilted his head sideways. "Are you suggesting that I should come here and deliver food for you again?"

Mingyue looked at his teasing smile. She raised a brow playfully and said, "Are you not willing?"

He let out a low chuckle. "Of course, I'm willing." Yang Yun continued to watch Mingyue ate. As she almost finished with her meal, Yang Yun sat up straight as he recalled something. "I almost forgot," he took out a stack of paper from his bag. "I brought along another part from the book."

"Let me see them," Mingyue tidied up the lunch box and put it to her side. Then, she took the stack of paper from him. "Can I read them now?"

Yang Yun nodded. "Well. I hope you will not laugh. I'm not really good at writing."

"I thought it was good," Mingyue tried to persuade.

"The last time you read them, Li Ran had made a few editing and adjustment," Yang Yun said. "This is the first draft, so it might not be that good." Yang Yun lowered his gaze. He was proficient in martial arts. He often held a knife or sword in his hand, not a pen. How could he be good at writing?

"These are handwritten," Mingyue commented.

"Yes. I'm not good with computers," Yang Yun touched his nose. "Xue Yi Ming said I typed like a snail. So, I wrote everything by hand, and Li Ran will find someone to type them for me. I'm sorry. My writing might be unreadable."

Lin Mingyue shook her head. "It's alright." Although some strokes seemed a bit strange, Mingyue found that she could understand everything that Yang Yun had written.

Quickly, Mingyue found herself engrossed in the words and the world that Yang Yun had written.

This time, Yang Yun had written the part where the girl traveled everywhere with her lover to find a few types of herbs for the sick princess.

The girl's adventure with her lover was a heart-pounding scene. They had to climb up a dangerous cliff and met a few dangerous animals along the way. However, the man had stayed by her side and protect her well.

Once Mingyue reached the last page, she started to feel a jab of pain in her head. The pain disappeared as quickly as it came.

"Are you alright?" Yang Yun asked as he noticed Mingyue's change of expression.

"I'm fine," Mingyue quickly raised her head and smiled. "Maybe the sun is a bit too hot today."

Yang Yun glanced at the sky before he reached for the water flask and handed them to Mingyue. "Have some drink."

Lin Mingyue took a few sips obediently. The two then sat in the garden as Mingyue gave her feedback on Yang Yun's work. Mingyue glanced at her wristwatch and stood up. "I have to go back to work now."

"I will have to accompany Xue Yi Ming to some job this evening."

"It's fine," Mingyue smiled. She immediately guessed that Yang Yun was planning to see her again after work. "It's my turn to stay on the night shift today. Yang Yun, we only agreed to start seeing each other yesterday."

Yang Yun swallowed as he heard her words. Mingyue was right. As their relationship had only begun, he should not be too clingy. He should not be too hasty to try to get his wife to remember. Everything must be done slowly, or else, he might draw Mingyue away from him.

"I know," Yang Yun forced a smile.

"Well, be careful on your job," Mingyue reminded him. "Don't accidentally shoot yourself on your foot again."

The two split up, and Mingyue headed back to her office. Her steps halted as she saw a family of six in the corridor. The mother sat in the wheelchair while the father pushed slowly. Their three young sons encircled their mother as they peeked at the newborn baby in their mother's arms.

"Mother, have you decided on our sister's name yet?" the older brother asked.

The mother looked at her husband and smiled.

"Your sister is called Xin Ye. Jing Xin Ye," the father replied.

"Xin Ye, Xin Ye," the older brother repeated their sister's name a few times. The little girl let out a gurgle and smiled. "Good. From today onwards, my brothers and I will protect baby Xin Ye. Father, mother, you can be assured."

Lin Mingyue watched as the family's interaction as they walked past her. Suddenly, she held a hand to the wall as she tried to stop herself from falling. Mingyue's face grew pale, and there was a sudden, stabbing pain in her chest.

Then, everything went black.
