Chapter 10 - Could it be that you don’t know how to fly?
“[Aegis]!” Qi Yichen immediately appeared in front of Gu Qingyu, the fan in his hands reacted to his call and formed a white barrier.
盾 : Shield/Guard ; I thought Aegis sounds way cooler.
“Slash——”
Jia Qizhe’s sword sliced through that person’s chest without the slightest hesitation.
“You……” That person stared grudgingly at Gu Qingyu, his glare was intense, and his voice was hoarse. He seemed to mumble something before his body went limp and fell down on the floor.
However, Gu Qingyu still heard the last three words he said, “Go to hell!”
Why……why would there be someone who was so desperate to kill her……Could it be that the original host did something?
Gu Qingyu watched the person on the floor, the blood kept pouring out of his chest.
Jia Qizhe calmly wiped his sword, he didn’t have much of a reaction, “I’d wanted to keep him alive and interrogate him tonight, looks like that’ll be impossible.”
Gu Qingyu anxiously glanced once more at the corpse, then looked at Jia Qizhe……
“Qingyu, do you have any grudges with this man?” Qi Yichen asked suddenly.
“No……” Gu Qingyu answered earnestly. However, she quickly became unsure……After all, she had no clue what the original host had been up to.
Qi Yichen smiled, “Qingyu, you should be more careful in the future.”
“Yeah!” Gu Qingyu slightly nodded, “Then I’ll go back first? Little Qi is still waiting!”
“Sure, go ahead.” Qi Yichen withdrew his fan.
Gu Qingyu helped them to close the door and returned to her room.
Little Qi threw herself on Gu Qingyu from the bed once she stepped in, “Little Yu! Are you fine?”
“Safe and sound, couldn’t be better!” Gu Qingyu patted Little Qi on the head.
“I had no choice but to wait here, because I know my magic power is very weak, so I can’t assist you……”
“Awww, good girl~ Don’t worry, I’m fine. Don’t forget that there’re two experts right next door!” Gu Qingyu laughed, “Hurry up and sleep.”
“Oki!”
Gu Qingyu slept especially well this night.
Next day.
“Dun-Dun-Dun”
The loud knocking noise caused Gu Qingyu to wake up..
She seemed to have woken up from the wrong side of the bed, so she felt really grouchy and irritated!
Gu Qingyu was furious, whoever it was, the consequences would be severe!
She casually dressed up, and kicked open the door with a “Bang” while looking like a bird nest, She roared, “WHO!”
In front of her, stood a white-clothed……Qi Yichen!!
Qi Yichen stood awkwardly outside with his hand mid-air. He seemed to have come to greet her, but he was dumbstruck by Gu Qingyu’s appearance. His face seemed to say “What did I just see?”, it was simply too much for him.
Gu Qingyu didn’t think for a second and shut the door with a “Bang”. She crouched down and covered her face, “Ahhh! My image is ruined!!”
Little Qi came to Gu Qingyu’s side after putting on her clothes and brushed her hair, “Little Yu, who’s outside?”
“Qi Yichen!” The defeated Gu Qingyu got up, “Little Qi, could you help me set up my hair……”
“Of course!” Little Qi enthusiastically picked up the comb, “Little Yu, don’t worry! I’ll create a super pretty and shining hairstyle for you! So pretty that their eyes will pop out!”
……Is this still our cute Little Qi! Return my Little Qi! I want my Little Qi back!!
Her mind turned frantic.
After getting fixed up.
She opened the door anew and discovered that the person had been changed……
“Jia Qizhe, morning.” She awkwardly greeted him, which was met with a nod.
“Qi Yichen already went ahead to order breakfast for us, it’s been a while already. Let’s go.”
“……Ok……”
Gu Qingyu unwillingly went down slowly the stairs as she hid behind Little Qi.
They met up with Qi Yichen, who full of smiles, he seemed to have forgotten about what happened earlier, “Qingyu, let’s eat.”
“Yeah, let’s eat!” Since he acted as if nothing happens, I’ll just forget about it too.
Suddenly, they heard a clatter of horse hoofs outside.
“Quick! We have a report saying Third Miss is here! Don’t let her get away!”
The voices of the guards could be heard.
Gu Qingyu suddenly felt uneasy, she swiftly grabbed a few buns and then dragged Jia Qizhe, Qi Yichen and Little Qi upstairs, to hide in their room.
The speed!
The vigor!
Gu Qingyu shut the door with a “Bang”-sound, “How did they find us?!”
Instead of answering her question, Jia Qizhe stared oddly at the buns in her hands, “Are you very hungry?”
“Obviously! I didn’t even take a bite yet!” She continued to eat.
Shortly, they heard the footsteps of guards rushing up the stairs.
“What should we do?” Gu Qingyu ate her buns while stamping her feet. Little Qi simply had a whole new level of respect for Qingyu after seeing her gesture.
Jia Qizhe gave her a strange gaze, “Do you think I’m afraid?”
“That’s not it! But it’s not like we can just slaughter our way out! And the forces of Gu Manor aren’t that weak……” She said hesitantly. When she uttered ‘Gu Manor’ two words, it was void of any familiar feelings, as if she was just talking about another clan and not her own family. Even though it was indeed so.
“You’re right.” Jia Qizhe seemed to be lost in thoughts.
Although the issue started to press before them, the atmosphere between everyone……still seemed quite relaxed.
Finally, Qi Yichen helplessly sighed, “I’ll go out and have a look. I’ll try to delay them, Jia Qizhe, see if you can bring them out from the windows.”
“Eh?” Gu Qingyu looked bewildered at first, then she quickly realized, “Qi Yichen is the only one the guards haven’t met before!”, “Let’s meet up again at that stream in the bamboo forest later!”
Qi Yichen agreed. He pushed open the door and walked out, then looked as if he “casually” closed the door.
Jia Qizhe lightly pushed open the window and turned his head towards the others, “You guys leave first, I’ll follow behind.”
“Ok!” Gu Qingyu gave him a nod.
Gu Qingyu hinted towards Little Qi, “I’ll open up a path, follow me closely. Jia Qizhe will trail behind us.”
Little Qi didn’t say anything and just nodded seriously at her.
Gu Qingyu thought to herself, “Since Little Qi knows that I’m a cat demon, and Jia Qizhe saw my form last time at the bat cave. I should be able to just transform at ease!”
Her cat ears and tail popped out.
She carefully observed the windows first, then nodded towards Jia Qizhe and Little Qi, and took the initiative to jump down first.
Little Qi followed closely and jumped down, and lastly Jia Qizhe.
Qi Yichen’s perspective.
He saw soldiers rushing up as he barely reached the staircase.
“Ransack this place! Don’t let Third Miss escape!”
