“Well now, today however you’ll be practicing your materials. . . This year the plans are a bit different from the last. Ordinary practice is dull don’t you agree? Because of that we’re going to format it as a game this year “
So to summarize the rules for the “game” explained by the director. Teams of 4 will go find and destroy magical creatures that the teachers created with magic.Points are giving based on the type of monster taken down. The team with the most points wins. However that being the case senior students have an advantage and so a handicap is placed on them. The higher the grade the fewer the points will be earned for each take down. Also,magic creature’s strength goes from low to intermediate class to demon level.
I wonder what the place will be like?
Nevertheless to be abruptly thrown into combat… As one would expect from the most prominent magic school
“And that concludes the explanation, Any questions?”
When the director asked if there were any questions , many hands were raised .
Q:What is the breakdown of the points?
A:That is a secret
Q:Can we choose the people we like for our team?
A:Teams are randomly chosen from within the class
Q:Can we sabotage others?
A:Sure, but if you are discovered a minus point will be added as penalty.
Etc.
“By the way the winning team will get a prize.So everybody please try you hardest.”
From just that one word that came from the director,it brought and voltage of motivation to all the students.
Thus the unpopulated island practice began.

My team is Me, Linde, Maron-san , and Kurin-san became the fourth

Though the ability of me and linde is not quite as good as the senior student.

The director said they dispatched the team completely randomly, but that is strange.
Because if thats the case, the endgame is perhaps already made.
One team having the top two of the class makes this game unbalanced.
No, I think only just 1 person would make a great difference
On the other hand its also bad,because weak people in teams will have a slimmer chance of getting points.
There is not much to say, but that victory or defeat will be decided at the time of the team creation.
I can only believe that there is something going on here.

“Kuu! (Acceleration Magic) !”
As a large metal beast unleashed a punch , i quickly used acceleration magic and barely dodged it.
“With this I’ll finish this!” (Fire Arrow)!”
From Linde’s staff came a fire arrow at high speeds that blew through the metal monster.
“Haa , Haa, its finally defeated . . . Nevertheless I wonder why? Now an Iron Golem. We have only met intermediate level demons awhile ago. “
“Haa , Haa . . . Is that so?, I now see”
“What are you thinking it is?”
“Maybe , Magic beast are dispatched based on team’s total ability? In short, we are only fighting magic creatures of similar strength”
It is good practice to be fighting opponents that have the same strength as ours.
If they are too weak you’ll get cocky and if they are too strong they may chip away at your motivation.
Its a very efficient way of doing things, to fight monster abit stronger that us , but also to start at monsters a little lower in strength than us.
“. . . Nagi-san , Linde-san , Sorry . We did nothing again. I couldnt move my legs .”(これじゃ足でまといだよね)(TN:is this a japanese saying?)
They say so but they are very helpful support.
Me and Linde have been in dangerous situations but end up fine.
Besides, I and linde may be top of the class although the real battle is similar to amateur stuff.
We are in this together
Therefor , I don’t plan on treating them coldly.
I understand that feeling though and to convey that i hugged both of them tightly.
“Nagi. . . san. . .”
“You’re okay. You guys are not burdens. You guys are very useful . Therefor . . .”
When i said that for some reason i feel a chilling sensation.
Cold. Even during the summer.

I gently separated from them . . . They both slowly fell to the ground without change.

I turned my head to the sky as i heard a woman’s chilled voice come from above.

I raised my face to her, A woman with voluptuous black hair and two sheep like horns, stood in front of me.
And in one hand holding a bloody Linde.

Translator here. I am new to translating and stuff. Have been teaching myself japanese for about a year and a half and i rely on rikaikun for alot of stuff. But i really much would appreciate any tips or tricks. Plus just input.
I’ll try to have 2 chapters a week and maybe 3 . But for now 2 and 1 at the bare minimum no promises.
Also with this translation its not a direct translation of the subject. As in exact same words being used. Sometimes it just sound like Engrish when translating so i take some liberties of changing wording but having the same meanings.
