Chapter 8-1

Following those episodes, being conquered by fever and having to rest peacefully for total ten days, in entirety of Mary Albert’s life was the greatest blemish she’d ever taken.

Who’s the guilty party responsible for her illness? The culprit was evident, ‘a vast deal of cogitation’ that had consumed her mind.

If the same circumstances were to be put under other ladies, lovely images such as ‘a frail girl’ or ‘adolescent girls ought to have many dilemmas’ would stick unto them. Suffering greatly because of deep contemplation then destroying their health, truly, what an ephemerally heartwarming story.

And normally the servants informed would reflect, ‘if only we realize it sooner’ or ‘not noticing the lady’s ailment is our blunders.’  Their duty after all was to sincerely provide an impeccable living condition without any adversity for their master. If their precious lady was running a temperature, the responsibility naturally fell to the ones who took care of her daily.

Yet none of the patterns above applied to her, as soon as Mary confessed what essentially had caused her fever…

“Intellectual Fever*!”

Addie was quick to blurt out whatsoever ‘moniker’ he’d created arbitrarily, by the time Mary could wake up from her bed, that moniker had been spread all over the manor much to her dismay.

Despite the messy predicaments she’s successful to recuperate from her sickness —— which according to the doctor’s diagnosis, it’s a measly cold. Obviously, by any means that’s not an ‘Intellectual Fever” —— it’s been ten days since she’d stepped her feet inside St. Karelia’s ground.

Yet, Mary found herself marveling the peculiar receptions the students gave her when their eyes met; they quickly averted their gaze in a hurry. Until now, the name Albert House had never failed to garner inquisitive and sparkling eyes from their peers, regardless this time she felt those stares were spiced with great animosity hence Mary slanted her neck.

“………What is this? I’m seriously getting a chill from here.”

“……….Uhm, somehow the event has taken for the worse.”

“I don’t understand the situation at all. Hey Addie, when I was bedridden you’ve been coming to school right, care to explain?”

In detail, Mary gave Addie a sidelong glance, but before he could utter anything another voice reached out for Mary’s name.

They saw a student running toward them from the distance. Sporting St. Karelia’s uniform, a blonde-haired individual who sprinted with all her might, was downright being ‘mortifying uncivilized’ in every ladies’ books on this school……..

“Oh dear, good day to you. As ever you’re dashing around nonchalantly, how unsightly.”

“Mary-sama! You’ve recovered, how gladdening!”

“Good grief, can you tone down your zest? Now that my fever is gone, I might fall ill again from breathing the foul stench of commoners.”

Unsurprisingly her poisonous retorts had naught effect on Alicia, the girl accepted it as a thoughtful guidance, she quickly leveled her rough breaths and sheepishly apologized with a thin smiled plastered.

Once again she fixed her stance, with the elegance becoming of St. Karelia students, “Good day to you, Mary-sama,” displaying her great improvement at the subject. No one would have guessed the girl was a mere plebian from her sophisticated pose.

Although seeing Alicia’s conduct Mary was ostensibly upset, covering her mouth with handkerchief she snorted as if looking at something repulsive.

“This is why I find commoners distasteful. If I were you, no matter how much I was in a hurry, I’d never run and parade my unattractive gait. A noble lady should always be graceful; a brute activity must be relinquished to be handled by your subordinate.”

“Yes! I understand! Thank you very much!”

“Tch……..you completely took it as an advice, huh……..and, what made you sprint here?”

“Obviously that’s because I’m happy to meet Mary-sama…….and……..”

“And what?”

What happened? As Mary tilted her head in wonder, Alicia contritely averted her face.

The girl’s mien that has always been bright, seemingly replicating the sunlight, was suddenly crumpled, lost her usual exuberance; plus there’s the fact that piercing stares were continuously pointed at Mary, she creased her eyebrows.

Thus she flew her gaze to search for its source, the bystanders still maintained their status quo while observing them, and from far place a group of dazzling figures came near. In the center of it was a familiar face, he’s Patrick.

Nonetheless today his bearing looked grim; he sent an austere glower on her direction.

Really, what does this mean……… (Mary)

Howbeit there’s no way she’d blurt it out so openly hence loosening her wrinkled brows, Mary smiled beautifully like a splendid lady.

“Good day members of Student Councils. What may be your business in this early morning?”

Yet her response was an abysmally icy timbre –

“Mary Albert. For all the evil deeds you have done, shall we hear your confession?”

From Patrick

In Dora-Gaku Mary bullied the heroine Alicia ever so harshly. They started from measly love relationship infringement, and escalate to placid harassments by her entourages, truly how much nerve she had to oppress someone that far.

Nevertheless the heroine would always be comforted by capture-able characters; hence her wicked exploits would be met by punishment as well. Obviously, by the power of capture-able characters who had been conquered.

Players had been calling those as ‘Retribution’ event, Mary exhaled sharply. The event marked the downfall of villainous Mary, whereas for destruction-willing Mary this was a golden opportunity……..yet, the atmosphere looked extremely demoralizing, sending shivers down her spine.

What’s more Patrick outwardly was particularly upset, sighing heavily, he glowered at Mary.

“Well, have you track down your memory lane and be ready to expound them?”

His tone was aberrantly detached.

Additionally he was sandwiched between the vice president and secretary, all of them placed their attention to her.

Needless to say, these people of Student Councils were all capture-able targets. Each of them came from prodigious backgrounds, having good grades and of course had considerable popularities within the institute.  Being the limelight of their considerations was every girls dream………..although not in the bad flip-side of it.

By the way, based on the game scenario, Alicia should be standing beside Patrick.

While being protected by Student Councils, she’d in tears declared all Mary corrupt endeavors.

However, Alicia right now……

“What the hell are you spouting about!? There’s no way Mary-sama would bully me, how nonsensical! Even though this came from the Student Councils, I’ll not allow anyone to spread mud over Mary-sama dignity!”

Standing beside Mary, more than anybody she was stalwartly protecting Mary.

“They ambushed me in unexpected place…….really, how astonishing, for her to stand on this side.”

“Originally, defending Ojou ought to be my calling, albeit I’ve lost the right timing to interfere. At last, I want to stop the fiery Alicia-chan.”

Whether it was contributed to Alicia’s blazing reinforcement, or the event was actually left in the corner of her recollection, since she’d never raised any flag as a villainous lady, Mary and Addie that have regained their calmness murmured softly to themselves.
