Tobias mischievously think that Maria called him because she just misses him! He observed that she was nervous and anxious, he knew that something was off but he can't point what it was. Maybe because she was shy to tell him directly what she wanted to say!

Tobias thought to himself cheerfully and stepped on the accelator.

He was now sure that she did not call him because she misses him. Maria called because there is a problem!

He opened the door abruptly and saw there, Maria was sitting on the bed and looking at the twins as if she was afraid that they will be vanished if she will blinked!
Maria did not noticed his prescence. So she was somewhat stunned when he hugged her.
