Little Maria felt her face burned because of her little conversation with Toby.
When the mass was over, she sadly walked to the park by herself then, silently sit on the swing. Little Maria became more depressed because she missed Toby. She's just observing the other children who were enjoying their playtime. She's not in the mood to play anymore.
"Iya?"
Little Maria abruptly turned around to see Toby. He is the only one who called her that name and she was indeed right.
"Toby!!" she called him happily and hugged him.
Toby hugged her back and she felt embarrassed. She pulled away and said
"You never attend the mass!"
"im sorry, it is because we need to prepare for our flight." Toby explained sadly.
"flight? you're leaving?"
"yeah. my parents decided to live at the US for good."
"but why? are you not happy here?"
Toby remained silent and she continue.
"you're leaving me?!" Little Maria said emotionally. Tears started to pour from her eyes.
"im sorry Iya, my dad had a business there and they decided to live there." Toby said while trying to hold her but she step backwards.
"but you said that you like me..... ...as a friend. " Little Maria speak shyly.
"and you said that we're going to share our food 'till we grow old!!" she said while crying. she stomped her foot in frustration.
"please don't cry. it's hard for me to leave also. to leave you, you have been special to me. " Toby said to her sadly. She remained silent.
"but I promise you that when I get old and can take care of myself I'm gonna find you so we xan grow old together. " Toby continue and hugged her.
"promise? " Little Maria asked while wiping her tear streaked face.
"I promise. " Toby nodded.
"okay, but pinky promise first. " she held out her pinky finger and Toby did the same.
"pinky promise.! " they said in unison.
"so you're just here to say goodbye to me? "
"yes! I don't want to leave without saying goodbye to you. and I want to see you before I leave. "
"okay. come here I'll hug you goodbye. " she open her arms to hug Toby.
"be a good boy there, understand? "
"yes you too, be a good girl. "
"of course. " she laughed sadly.
"I'm going miss you Iya. " Toby speak
"me too. " Little Maria said as she began to cry again.
"sshh.. please don't cry. " Toby rub her back to calmed her.
"oh, I have a gift for you. " Toby said while reaching for his pocket and took out a small box.
"what's that? " she asked curiously wiping her face with her hand.
"here" Toby opened the box and took out a bracelet from it.
"wow! it's beautiful. " she speak as she look at the bracelet. It has a gold chain and a heart pendant. It has a words carved to it (Iya❤Toby)
Little Maria blushed when she read those words. She looked at Toby wanting to ask something.
"why..... "
"that's my gift. you should keep that, take good care of that. it's a reminder that you're mine. " Toby said seriously. Her face blushed even more.
"sire Toby? "
They turn their heads in unison towards a tall man who seems to be Toby's driver.
"we have to go sire, Your father called me and said that they're already on their way to the airport. " that tall man continued to explain.
"I really have to go now Iya. " Toby said feeling depressed.
"okay, take care. Goodbye Toby. " she speak trying not to cry again.
"Goodbye, Iya. Take care. " Toby said and went to the car where the tall man waiting. Before he can step inside the car Toby faced in her direction again and run to her.
"what? did you left something? " she confusedly ask
"I forgot my gift from you. " he said smiling.
"but I don't have any to give to you. " she speak felling worried.
"that's not fair! I should have my gift. "
"but I do-... "
Little Maria didn't able to finish her sentence when she felt a soft thing that touch her cheeks.
"bye! " Toby waved at her and run towards the car again.
She touched her burning cheeks , did Toby kissed her?!
