Hong Lian and his sister had been on the road since ten on a Saturday morning after having breakfast by nine and bidding their parents an emotional farewell, before hitting the road.
"Lian do you think it is going to be difficult adjusting at the office, I don't have any experience at all."
Hong Lian had a tender look on his clean-shaven, good-looking face, while looking at his sister who now was biting her lips from being nervous at being introduced to a something that she had no idea about. Hong Ruolan took her brother's hand that loosely rested against the armrest and placed them across her chest to show him that she was truly scared at the thought of working in the corporate world.

When Hong Ruolan saw that she almost caused an accident from her brother looking concentration, the thought made her feel so bad, that she began to cry buckets of tears.
"I..I'm sorry, I..I didn't mea..n to make y..you lose f.focus."
Lian could never remember the last time he ever had to raise his voice at his sister, but he knew that she was only just being herself and doing nothing out of the ordinary. The problem was from him, he just couldn't control his base emotions when it came to her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you. What you did just caught me off guard that's all."
Hong Lian could still feel the warmth from where her hand touched his, instant regret came over him for the way he handled the situation. He saw her sniffling beside him, unconsciously the hand that was burnt by her touch returned to affectionately pat her head, which in the past was what he used to comfort her when they were younger.
"It's okay, don't cry anymore. See?! I'm not angry with you."

Several minutes after, Hong Ruolan was no longer crying because had fallen asleep from having her emotion under turmoil. That was when Hong Lian reluctantly allowed his hand to fall back to the armrest, as he continued to drive straight ahead in the direction of the house that would become their home for the next couple of months or probably years depending on how his plans turned out.
