A server came in to clear the table of Zhang Mi and Lu Yi, they kept talking about future plans and dabbling a bit to their shared past. There was never a shortage of laughter from the two, as slowly the heiress was starting to open up to him.

Almost an hour later, the conversation was beginning to slow down, that was when Lu Yi offered to see the heiress to her doorstep.

"I'm sure by now all the excitement and strain must be getting to you, why don't I see you off? That way my mind is at rest that you got home safely."

Lu Yi watched her closely to see if she was going to take what he suggested, her saw the shift in her expression, as though considering what he said, thinking it was a good sign, Lu Yi felt pleased within him that Zhang Mi would probably allow him to take her home.

It took almost a minute before the heiress spoke, "Lu Yi, I really appreciate what you have done for me till now, but I will have to decline..."

Although, he felt a slight sting from the rejection, the young man had to accept that it was her call to make.

"Let me know when you're ready to leave."

On hearing this, the Zhang heiress knew that he was indirectly letting her know that it was time for them to put an end to their friendly chat and go their separate ways.

"I'm ready when you are."

That was all she said, as the two stood up to walk out of the restaurant, whose simple interior of purple blended with the yellow outlook from outside.

Eleven pair of eyes including the two servers and a cashier that worked the register, watched as a woman of average statue with dark wind blown hair in a long sleeved shirt and pants of khaki green, walked barefooted by a tall man of strikingly good looks.

Although they knew who she was, from seeing her face plastered on the news and the cluster of reporters glued to the place, only reinforced who she was, not a single diner had a pleasant look on their faces. Mostly one that showed extreme discomfort to be in the same space as an ex-convict, they had their phones out to take pictures of the two, which was before done in secret while they ate.

Various photos of them appeared on Beibo with venomous comments attached to them. All the diners had something bad to write about the photos they posted on the net.

"How can she go in dressed like that to eat in a public place?! How Hungry could she have been not to take a shower and get a change of clothes?! Who is the guy with her?! Is he blind or what?! Doesn't he have sense to tell her that wearing prison clothes to eat out is not something cool!"

Others told off the negative comments, that she deserves to eat just like everyone else and should not be judged by what she wore.

Tons of support poured in for the heiress. Surprisingly, most of the Netizens stood up for her during the harsh criticism that was thrown at her.

Lu Yi hailed a cab, as the reporters almost ran into them, while pushing against each other and drawing dangerously close to the two. A few minutes later, the cloud gave way and raindrops began falling uncontrollably. People on the street scurried to get cover, leaving the two and the press under the rain.

When an orange colored hatchback cab slowed to a stop, without thinking, Lu Yi grabbed hold of Zhang Mi's hand, shoving her into the car with him closely behind, only turning quickly to slam the door shut. They both got drenched by the rain.

"Hurry!"

When the plain dressed middled aged cab driver heard the urgency in the tone of Lu Yi, he slammed on the accelerator, as he drove though the rain, there was no traffic and only had two stops at the traffic light. During the drive, Lu Yi told Zhang Mi to put her seat belt on, at first she argued with him, saying she's been moving about just fine without using one. Refusing to let her have her way, by telling her how risky it was to be in a car without one. After much persistence from Lu Yi, the heiress reluctantly did as told, securing the belt to her seat. While the exchange between the two was going on, the driver glanced up once in their direction.

By the time they got to the main road leading to the driveway of the Zhang villa, very few motorists could be seen driving in the rain and almost no pedestrian walked the streets.

Making a right to get off and enter the one way road leading to the Zhang villa, the driver briefly looked up to see Zhang Mi shivering, while Lu Yi had already taken off his suit to place over her shoulders.

Driveway leading to the Zhang villa extended far beyond the immediate reach of the main access road. The asphalt paved road seemed almost endless and spacious enough to allow six cars to move with ease, as there was one one way that led in, the other end was completely walled off to deter anyone that had no business from "stumbling in error" to the massive impressive looking building. Another group of reporters stood outside the gates of the imposing villa, waiting on the heiress to arrive.

The building was almost at the very end of the road, therefore it took fifteen minutes more or less, depending on the speed of the driver to get to where it was located.

They hadn't gone too far from the access road, as the driver struggled to see through the downpour with the windshield wiper sweeping off the rain from the windshield.

Lu Yi had his attention on Zhang Mi as he held her close to him, to pass some body heat to her, as her head lay on his shoulder.

With no warning whatsoever, the only thing they heard was a loud bang, as a white box truck rammed into them with full force from the opposite direction.

The cab flipped a couple of times before landing to the ground by one of its side, as debris from the car and shards of broken glass flew everywhere, the occupants of the car were semi conscious with the exception of the driver who died instantly on the spot, his head sustained most of the injury from not having his seatbelts on.

The truck was about to reverse and run into the damaged car, but had to halt on hearing sounds of approaching cars.

Not wanting to risk exposure, the unidentified truck sped off, as it passed by multiple cabs and new station vans conveying reporters from the restaurant. The vehicles came to a dead stop on seeing the ghastly accident, none of them stopped to call an ambulance on rushing out of the cab to the scene. The bulbs kept flashing as the camera continued to roll, presenting viewers with a live coverage of the heiress unfortunate accident, with the headline "Zhang Heiress and Secret Lover Involved in a Car Accident"

As expected, rating flew off the roof when the news coupled with the title appeared on the screen, as many turned in to watch the devastating news on TV.
