The phone belonging to Yang Lin rang, with no number on display as the word "restricted" appeared on the screen. Picking up to see who it might be calling as a voice came through, "Shu, I need you to pay close attention to Young Miss Zhang."
There was no greeting whatsoever, the tone on the line had so much seriousness attached. That alone snapped Yang Lin to focus on the conversation, he knew who the voice belonged to, even if he was woken from sleep.
It was none other than Guo Ru, the man that was like a second father to him, in place of Zhang Tianyu whenever the other was not available to be by him. He was the one that taught Yang Lin the security aspect pertaining to growing up as the right hand for the Zhang household. While Zhang Tianyu gave him the necessary tools and teachings to succeed and understand the business aspect of managing a large Corporation like Zhang Corporation.
"Uncle Guo, I'm all ears. What do you have in mind?"
Yang Lin was at the heiress home, when on a late afternoon, while he was in the huge study sorting through various cabinets, to put aside things he would need in the event he had to dismiss the whole staff of Zhang villa. In as much as he wanted to believe in how good Tao Jun was, there was still an element of disbelief that he held within, as to her winning a case that was embroiled in power struggle and deceit. It was on a day like this that Yang Lin spoke to a man he hadn't heard from, for close to eleven years.
"I had someone keep track on President Zhang, it's been difficult to bug his office or home, just like everything else there is always a weak link."
Yang Lin listened on as the other man spoke of how he was able to plant a listening device on Zhang Tianyu, as he was someone who was very paranoid, each day he came to his office Gao Yifeng had to scan for bugs and other listening device that could have been planted by anyone that had access to the office of the President of Zhang Corporation, that meant cleaning support team, maintenance support team and others.
Anyone under the guise of housekeeping or repair could tap his office, which was why at any possible chance, his office had to go through a security sweep by his aide, who always had on him, tucked in his inner coat a device that ensured that the security of the President of Zhang Corporation was not compromised.
Guo Ru was a former officer with a huge debt, after proving himself to the insufferable Zhang Tianyu, only then was he allowed to be his aide, which was many levels higher than being a bodyguard.
"What do you want me to do?"
Yang Lin waited on the other man to answer his question, as the reply on the other end was, "Try every means possible to know the movement of Young Miss Zhang, I can't shake the feeling that President Zhang will take her out, since he is running out of time in taking hold of Zhang Corporation. Do what it takes to know her every move. If he could harm the mother of his daughter, what don't you think he wouldn't do? Now he knows that she is trying her best to break out of jail and return as President of Zhang Corporation."
Yang Lin could hear the plea from the other man's voice, it wasn't surprising he was up to date with the current happenings of the Zhang family.
Guo Ru struggled with guilt from the things he had to do as the right hand of Zhang Tianyu, without any notice to his boss nor Yang Lin, he went into hiding, not even with all the resources that the President of Zhang Corporation had to spare, could the man be found.
When he first took up the job with Zhang Tianyu, Guo Ru had to sign a non disclosure agreement that while he worked under him, he could not for any reason reveal anything he saw to the police or others.
This made it possible for Zhang Tianyu to commit all sort of atrocities while being protected by a former police officer, he knew that as long as he had the signed NDA document, there was nothing that Guo Ru could say in court against him.
Yang Lin kept listening to what Guo Ru had to say, it was a simple mission, yet it was one that was also very unpredictable. He was to stay as close as he could possibly be during the court hearing and find a way to place a bug on Lu Yi and Zhang Mi. That way he would be able to monitor their whereabouts should the case be won and the heiress freed. Guo Ru had to partly count on Tao Jun to win the case, because he knew that Zhang Tianyu never kept "his eggs in one basket" he always had to have backups.
During the hearing, Yang Lin had to pretend to tying his shoe lace, only to sneak a tiny device at the helm of Lu Yi's pants. While Lu Yi and Zhang Mi were escorted by the officers out of the court, Yang Lin bumped into them amidst the numerous reporters, stealthily placing one on each's clothing.
He kept following the two at a distance and saw when they went to He'Lan a restaurant very close by. All the while they both sat to eat, Yang Lin was waiting outside in an obscure area, from there he could listen in on their conversation from a hardwired earpiece, while looking at his phone which was synchronized to the device he had planted on them.
Not leaving anything to chance, the moment he heard them say they were leaving, Yang Lin called a cab ahead, and on entering in, he gave the cab driver clear instruction not to drive until he gave his go ahead. He then began trailing them when they had safely entered the cab.
It was a minute into the drive that he placed an emergency call that someone had been gravely injured very close to the Zhang villa, giving the address to the dispatcher. Yang Lin felt that if truly the Zhang heiress was in danger then the ambulance would make it there on time to save her, but if not, he'll only have to call back and apologize for the confusion.
Now Yang Lin had to bet his all, in ensuring that Zhang Mi survive at all cost.
