She felt that the uncle might have been bribed by the perpetrator to say that the accident was partly the fault of his sister.

Kai Xin merely asked, "How can I help?"
"I need you to talk to that child. She refused to talk to me. I think she was scared of me. It would be easier if you talk to her."
Kai Xin nodded, "Once I rescheduled my meetings for next week, I would let you know of my availability."
"I'm sure you can just skip whatever meetings with that bonehead President."
Calmly picking up the phone, DX said sharply, "She's done here."
He hung up before Layla can reply.
Kai Xin frowned, "She's my mentor you know."
"Ex-mentor, " said DX before passing her a hot cup of ginger tea, "Drink up. As for Layla, she would just come after me. There is no reason for you to fret over this."
As she sipped on the drink, he continued to blow dry her hair.
Once he was done, he sat on the couch and pulled out two laptops from the drawer of the coffee table.
Handing one to Kai Xin, he said, "You can check your emails with this. It would be easier than using your phone."
Kai Xin nodded. She sat on the floor, cross legged, and started to read through the files that Layla sent her.
Meanwhile, DX went through his emails and replied to whatever was necessary.
After about an hour, Kai Xin yawned.
When DX saw her action through the corner of his eyes, without breaking the momentum of his typing speed, he said,
"Come up here if you are tired."
Kai Xin wanted to continue working but another loud yawn caught her and she knew that she had to take a nap or she would be dead tired tomorrow.
Climbing onto the couch, she lied there with her head resting near DX's thigh.
It was impossible for him to continue working with her being so near to him.
Maybe she was really tired or maybe it was because of the sound of rain, but It took her less than a minute to go into a deep sleep mode.
DX placed his laptop aside.
After covering her up with the comforter and gave her a kiss, he went to Callum's room.

Even though it had been a week since they crippled the heir as well as the power of the Shangguan Family, Callum felt unease.
Once everyone went to bed yesterday, he started going through all the files he collected.
Shangguan Xing did try to **** Kai Xin...but who was the one who placed those two in the same room?
