Meanwhile, inside the Zhen's house, Kai An was laughing at something that Ye Tian told him.
"Gosh, I can't believe that Young Master Luo Yin would actually cry because he lost a position to me. He must have hated my guts then."
Ye Tian smirked as he thought, "More than you know..."
Placing the dishes on the table, An Qi Yan asked with a smile, "So, what brought you here today? We haven't seen you in more than 10 years."
"I just came back recently and I was wondering how Ms. An would be," grinned Ye Tian. He took a shrimp and ate it before saying, "Also, I miss your cooking."
An Qi Yan smiled as she scooped out the rice, "Yeah, you used to eat so much that I started cooking extra two portions just for you."
Ye Tian smiled as he took the bowl from her.
Turning to Kai An, he asked, "Where's your sister? I haven't seen her since she transferred school."
Kai An shrugged and with a sad face, he said,
"She's probably out with her new boyfriend. Little sisters... Once they have boyfriends, they would forget about their lovable brothers at home."
An Qi Yan smacked the back of his head before looking at Ye Tian,
"Please ignore Kai An. He's just jealous cause his girlfriend dumped him recently and he has no one to hang out with."
Ye Tian gasped, "Really? Why?"
Rubbing the back of his head, Kai An explained,
"Girl stuff. She asked me if she's the most important girl in my life other than my mother. Obviously, I said no, my sister is more important..."
He sighed, "Then she asked if I would save Xin or her first if she's pregnant with our child....and the rest is history."
An Qi Yan sat down next to Kai An and shook her head as she said,
"This dummy doesn't understand girls. Every relationship ended the same way because of his obsession towards his sister."
Ye Tian laughed.
Kai An's love towards his sister was the reason why they targeted her in the first place. He cannot wait for Kai An to find out what they did to his sister.
While they were halfway through the meal, Kai Xin came back.
Since she knew that he was there, she managed to reel in her emotions and faked it through.
"Oh. It's Ye Tian," greeted Kai Xin as she spat out the next words, "Long. Time. No. See."
Ye Tian was disappointed at her reaction. He had wanted to see some fear from her. It would be a nice dessert to go with the dinner.
"Hi, Kai Xin. How are you? Heard that you have a new boyfriend," said Ye Tian with an innocent smile before continuing, "You must be careful of guys. They are all wolves."
Kai Xin glared at him and scoffed, "At least they are not fake wolves like someone."
"Xin!" admonished Kai An, "Ye Tian was just trying to be brotherly towards you."
Sitting down right next to Ye Tian, she picked up a drumstick and used it to point at Kai An,
"Should I call him brother instead of you then?"
Kai An paled out and shook his head, "No! I'm your only brother! Ye Tian, don't be brotherly towards my sister!"
An Qi Yan was unable to watch her son's stupidity and she smacked him at the back of his head again before muttering, "Dumbass son."
"Mum!" yelled Kai An in annoyance, "I'm going to get dumber if you keep doing this."
"Can't get any dumber if there's nothing in your head to begin with."
Kai Xin ate her dinner quietly as she watched her mother and brother bickering with each other.
Ye Tian purposely rubbed his thigh against her but it was as if she did not notice his action.
She ate her usual amount and appeared to not be affected by him in any way.
Ye Tian was annoyed by her lack of expression. He did not like new version of her. He preferred the girl who trembled at the sight of him.
Almost abruptly, he stood up and asked to be excused, "I just remember I have an appointment to attend to."
Kai Xin smirked, "Then go ahead. No one is stopping you."
Ye Tian clenched his fists as he smiled politely at Kai An and An Qi Yan who sent him off, "I would be back to see you again, Ms. An. Kai An..."
Looking into the house, he said loudly, "Bye, Kai Xin. I will see you around."
To his surprise, Kai Xin smiled and waved at him.
The moment he left, she dropped her smile. Heading straight to her room, she locked the door quietly before running towards the bathroom.
She retched until everything was out of her. Slumping against the bathroom wall, she clenched her fists tightly as she cursed, "Bastard..."

Earlier at the staircase, Ghost told her to avoid going home because he was worried that she might be unable to handle it.
Kai Xin gave his advice a thought. After a while, she made her decision,
"It will come sooner or later. I can't always be running away if I want to take him down someday."
He patted her head and told her, "I would be out here if you need me."

Remembering that Ghost was still out at the staircase, she gave him a call to let him know that Ye Tian left.
Worried, he asked, "Are you alright?"
"I would be fine once I take a shower. Be careful on your way back."
Ghost hesitated for a moment before asking, "Daisy, if...If I become a murderer one day...W-Would you think less of me?"
She sat up straight when she heard that, "Ghost! What are you going to do?"
He was quiet for a few seconds before muttering, "Nothing. I'll see you soon."

She looked at her phone and realized that the phone was dead. Rushing to the charger, she plugged the damn thing in and called Phantom.
"Hey, Phantom."
"Hey, did Ghost arrived on time?"
Kai Xin nodded furiously before replying, "Yeah, yeah. I saw Ye Tian... Phantom, what is Ghost up to now? What's this talk about being a murderer?"
Phantom glanced at the file on his desk and said, "Nothing. Don't worry about it. He's probably going through puberty again. I'll keep an eye on him."
She sighed. Despite the joke, Kai Xin felt that the two were keeping a secret from her.
"Fine, I'll trust you for now. But Phantom..." said Kai Xin, "...I'm not that weak. Don't treat me as if I can't handle anything."
Phantom nodded, "You are stronger than anyone I know. I'll see you soon."
