DX slowly lifted the trapdoor open. It was really dark so he used his handphone to light the way.
As he was descending down the stairs to the basement, without turning around, he placed his hand behind his back and said, "Kid, it's dark here. Hold my hand."
When he heard no response, he turned back. To his surprise, the boy was gone.
A single golden red maple leaf was on the ground where he was standing earlier.
Picking it up, DX looked around but there was no sight of the boy. He ran around the compound once more before thinking to himself,
"He probably snuck in through the other doors."
DX went into the orphanage and as he made a way to Kai Xin's room, he made a mental note to donate some money for the installation of better security system. If this place had a connection to her, then he wanted to protect it for her.
When he finally arrived outside the room, he slowly turned the knob.
The first thing he saw was Layla and Kai Xin sleeping together on the bed with Layla spooning her and the woman had slipped her hand into Kai Xin's shirt. He growled when he saw the pesky thing on Kai Xin's stomach.
Annoyed, he strode in and carried Layla who was completely dead to the world. Placing her on the couch, he covered her with his jacket. There was a short moment where he considered covering her face with the jacket.
However, when he thought about how Kai Xin might be upset over the mistreatment of his mentor, he decided against it.
Wearing only his boxer, he slid in next to Kai Xin and spooned her.
Placing a kiss on her shoulder, he whispered, "I love you."
As if her body knew who he was, she turned around and hugged him tightly.
When her leg brushed against the soft spot of his, DX hissed, "You little..."
No longer soft, DX struggled to maintain himself. If only he can throw Layla out of the room.
Glaring at the woman that was sleeping on the couch, he cursed at his own misfortune.
He tried to distract himself by counting Kai Xin's eyelashes but found it to be futile. Everything about her just made him want to possess her.
As he was struggling, fatigue slowly crept in and DX soon fell asleep with Kai Xin in his embrace.

"ARGH!"
DX cried out when he felt a kick and fell off the bed.
The shout and the following thump woke Kai Xin up from her slumber. Rubbing her eyes, she tried to see where the noise was coming from.
She saw Layla and wondered why she was sleeping at the couch. Her mentor was undisturbed by the noise and continued to snore lightly.
"Who was that then..."
When she saw a man's leg moving on the floor, she picked up her pillow and snarled, "Who are you..."
DX groaned as he stood up. Rubbing his sore lower back, he frowned, "It's me..."
"DX! What are you doing on the floor?" asked Kai Xin worriedly as she tendered to his sore back when he sat down on the bed.
Flicking her forehead gently, he laughed, "How could you asked me that when you were the one who kicked me down?"
Kai Xin blushed as she recalled kicking something earlier. She had thought it was part of her dream.
She was dreaming earlier and in her dream, she saw DX and Layla kissing and somehow, she felt a desire to kick him.
Pushing her down on the bed, DX growled, "You shouldn't stay out with that woman. She's bad influence."
Kai Xin chuckled. She looked up at his tired face and knew that he must had arrived late at night. It made her happy that he was worried about her, but at the same time, it made her worried about his health.
Running her fingers down his stubbly cheeks, she said softly, "You shouldn't say that about your..."
She giggled before she continued, "...ex-Owner."
DX froze when he heard that. Falling down next to her, he sighed, "She told you about that?"
Kai Xin laughed softly as she snuggled against him,
"She told me about a lot of stuff. DX, I can't believe you lost a bet and had to be her slave for one week. I have trouble imagining you doing all the menial work."
DX groaned and buried his face in the crook of her neck as he complained, "Don't remind me of that. She made me buy embarrassing stuff like tampons and lingerie and that woman had the nerve to declare it loudly to the entire class."
Kai Xin chuckled, "Is it that embarrassing to buy tampons and lingerie?"
Hearing her sweet voice, DX smirked, "I was 10."
Glaring at Layla, he snarled, "She doesn't even need it until she's 14."
Kai Xin laughed softly at his expression. Recalling something, she said, "Oh yeah... She also told me one other thing."
She moved to straddle him. DX raised a brow at her and thought that she wanted to do it with Layla being in the room.
He was all for it but he wondered, "When did this little thing learned to be so open-minded about this?"
Leaning down, she puckered her lips and kissed him softly before saying the things that he never wanted to hear again, "Apparently, you guys kissed?"
