Once he left DX and Kai Xin, Ye Tian headed to the East Wing where the younger kids were hanging out with.
His father brought him along as a matter of appearance and he did not want to anger the man by hanging around him too much.
When he thought about how Kai Xin was so fearless earlier, he cursed silently. He did not like the fact that she no longer trembled in fear.
"Maybe I should punish her a little..." thought Ye Tian as he sat at the porch thinking about his next step.
He was fine with Kai Xin going out with DX. He was also fine if she wanted to take her revenge.
However, it irked him that she was no longer a scared little bunny.

When he looked up, he saw Caleb who had fallen flat in front of him.
Despite that, the first thing that Caleb did when he stood up was to check on the two slices of cake that he was holding in his hands.
Once he was sure that the cakes are fine, Caleb sighed in relief. At the orphanage, he could only get a small slice whenever someone got a cake.
Hence, he was really excited when the twins gave him two slices.
Ye Tian watched as the boy glanced around before his eyes landed on Ye Tian. When he did not see anyone he knows that could help him, he walked towards the man.
"What do you want, kid?" Ye Tian asked when the boy raised both slices of the cake at him.
"Hold!" said Caleb. When Ye Tian did not move, Caleb looked at him with his big round eyes as he said, "Pweaaaaaseee..."
When Ye Tian raised a brow at him, Caleb sighed in disappointment.
However, just as he was about to turn and walk away, Ye Tian stopped him and took the cakes in his hand away.
"Do you want me to hold onto these for you?" asked Ye Tian.
Caleb nodded. He then patted all over himself to get the dirt away from his new clothes before putting his hands out for the cake.
When he saw the boy's dirty palms, Ye Tian frowned, "Don't you need to wash your hands first?"
Caleb followed the movement of his lips and he understood what the man was trying to say.
However, he was afraid that the man might run off with his cake.
Ye Tian noticed that he was eyeing the cake and sighed impatiently, "I won't run off with your cake."
He then nodded at a water pipe nearby and added, "Wash hands first."
Caleb groaned and quickly ran to wash his hands. Watching the kid's silly behavior, Ye Tian found himself smiling slightly. The boy never took his eyes off the cakes in his hand.
Once he was done washing his hands, Caleb ran back to demand for his cakes.
"Dry them," said Ye Tian sternly.
With a loud sigh, Caleb wiped his hands on Ye Tian's clothes. When Ye Tian realized what he was doing, the cakes on his hands were taken by Caleb.
"You!"
He wanted to scold the boy but when Caleb looked at him with a sad face, he merely sighed and waved his hand dismissively at him, "Go."
Caleb ran away but after a few steps, he glanced back at Ye Tian who was sitting by himself.
Even though he wanted to eat both slices, he ran back and gave a slice to Ye Tian before signing, "Eat."
"Sign language?" thought Ye Tian. He then knelt down to look at Caleb carefully before asking slowly, "You can't hear?"
Caleb pointed to his ears and shook his head.
"Are you sure you want to give the cake to me?" asked Ye Tian. When Caleb nodded, he patted the boy's head and asked, "Do you want to eat with me?"
Caleb shrugged and sat at the stairs with Ye Tian.
While they were eating quietly, Ye Tian noticed the X shaped scar at the nape of Caleb's neck that was partially hidden by the boy's hair.
He immediately placed his half-eaten cake down on the ground to take a quick look.
When Caleb looked at him curiously, Ye Tian tapped the back of his own neck before asking, "Where did you get this?"
Following Ye Tian's movement, Caleb reached to the back of his neck and when he felt the scar, he shrugged and answered vocally, "Can't remember."
All he knew was that the scar had always been there.
When Caleb went back to focus on his cake, Ye Tian felt an urge to reach out and touch the boy.

When she was right in front of him, she sneered, "I have this warehouse surrounded. There is no way you can escape."

A man covered in blood dragged a body into the room with him.
Dropping the body on the floor, he took out his gun and pointed it at the woman before saying, "Perimeters clear, sir."
When the woman saw the dead body, she screamed. It was her lover! They were going to live happily once they got rid of the kid.
"Dear! Wake up!" cried the woman as her hands shook from the sight of the dead man with numerous bullet holes in him.
Annoyed by the sound of her crying, Ye Tian snapped, "He's already dead! Stop crying!"
"You!" The woman glared at DX and raised the gun at him. However, before she could shoot, she was shot by the guard in the kneecap.
"ARGHHH!!!"
A loud piercing scream filled the room and it woke the baby up. When he heard the baby, Ye Tian went over to soothe him.
The baby soon quieted down and when he saw Ye Tian's face, he smiled and raised his chubby arms up.
Picking his son up, Ye Tian frowned, "Damn. You are kind of cute."
"Leave my son behind!" gritted the woman as she dragged herself towards him. The baby was her ticket to fame and fortune. There was no way she letting it out of her sight.
Looking at her in disgust, Ye Tian ordered, "Get rid of her."
He then walked out of the room with the baby in his arms. The entire place was filled with dead bodies and Ye Tian ignored all of that while walking to his car.
Once he was comfortably seated inside, he placed the baby on his lap.
"If you are my son, you should be almost one now. Right?" Ye Tian asked the baby who only stared back and smiled at him.
When he stopped speaking, the baby reached out and placed his hands on Ye Tian's cheeks. He patted his father's cheeks before laughing gleefully.
"What are you going to do with the baby, sir?" asked one of his guard who was standing next to the car.
"Leave him at the side of the road or something. I don't care.," said Ye Tian as he glanced at the baby coldly. In his heart, he thought, "Kid, I'm going to give you a chance to live. I won't kill you myself."
He asked for a knife and the same guard gave him a pocket knife. Ye Tian flipped the baby over and made an X-shaped mark at the nape of his little neck.
The baby was screaming his lungs off during the entire process but Ye Tian ignored him.
Once he was done, he passed the baby to the guard and without another glance, he closed the door behind him.
He glanced at the blood that covered his hands and laughed sadly, "Ah! You should have reincarnated to another family."

Looking at the boy who was still sitting next to him, Ye Tian called out softly, "My son..."
Caleb who had his eyes on his cake did not know that Ye Tian was talking to him.
Ye Tian was unable to tear his eyes away from his son who looked nothing like him. Instead of white hair, Caleb inherited his mother's brownish black hair and Ye Tian felt relieved by it.
As he watched the boy ate, he thought, "At least he didn't inherit my curse..."

When he heard someone shouting, Ye Tian looked up and saw Tian Le coming over with his crutch.
"What did you call him?" asked Ye Tian.
"Caleb," replied Tian Le as he stared at the man who was sitting next to Caleb. He saw how Ye Tian was staring at Caleb earlier and he felt suspicious.
Worried that the man was taking advantage of Caleb, he asked rudely, "I'm his brother. Who the hell are you?"
"Just a passerby," replied Ye Tian. He tapped Caleb's shoulder to get his attention. When the little boy looked up at him, Ye Tian pointed at Tian Le with his chin.
When he saw Tian Le, Caleb immediately finished the rest of his cake and ran towards him.
"Tian Le!"
"What have I told you before? Don't talk to strangers!" signed Tian Le.
Caleb glanced at Ye Tian for a second before looking at Tian Le and signed, "He looks sad."
"He's still a stranger! If Mama Zhen finds out about it, you are dead!" signed Tian Le as he glared at the man.
He was old and well-read enough to know that sometimes, adults had nefarious intentions towards children.
With a pout, Caleb signed, "Don't tell her, please...I won't do it again..."

The woman laughed as she walked towards him with the gun firmly pointed at his forehead. When she was right in front of him, she sneered, "I have this warehouse surrounded. There is no way you can escape.""Are you sure?" asked Ye Tian with an amused tone. He went to the door and bang it once. A man covered in blood dragged a body into the room with him. Dropping the body on the floor, he took out his gun and pointed it at the woman before saying, "Perimeters clear, sir."When the woman saw the dead body, she screamed. It was her lover! They were going to live happily once they got rid of the kid."Dear! Wake up!" cried the woman as her hands shook from the sight of the dead man with numerous bullet holes in him. Annoyed by the sound of her crying, Ye Tian snapped, "He's already dead! Stop crying!""You!" The woman glared at DX and raised the gun at him. However, before she could shoot, she was shot by the guard in the kneecap. "ARGHHH!!!" A loud piercing scream filled the room and it woke the baby up. When he heard the baby, Ye Tian went over to soothe him. The baby soon quieted down and when he saw Ye Tian's face, he smiled and raised his chubby arms up. Picking his son up, Ye Tian frowned, "Damn. You are kind of cute." "Leave my son behind!" gritted the woman as she dragged herself towards him. The baby was her ticket to fame and fortune. There was no way she letting it out of her sight. Looking at her in disgust, Ye Tian ordered, "Get rid of her." He then walked out of the room with the baby in his arms. The entire place was filled with dead bodies and Ye Tian ignored all of that while walking to his car. Once he was comfortably seated inside, he placed the baby on his lap."If you are my son, you should be almost one now. Right?" Ye Tian asked the baby who only stared back and smiled at him. When he stopped speaking, the baby reached out and placed his hands on Ye Tian's cheeks. He patted his father's cheeks before laughing gleefully. "What are you going to do with the baby, sir?" asked one of his guard who was standing next to the car. "Leave him at the side of the road or something. I don't care.," said Ye Tian as he glanced at the baby coldly. In his heart, he thought, "Kid, I'm going to give you a chance to live. I won't kill you myself."He asked for a knife and the same guard gave him a pocket knife. Ye Tian flipped the baby over and made an X-shaped mark at the nape of his little neck. The baby was screaming his lungs off during the entire process but Ye Tian ignored him. Once he was done, he passed the baby to the guard and without another glance, he closed the door behind him. He glanced at the blood that covered his hands and laughed sadly, "Ah! You should have reincarnated to another family."....Looking at the boy who was still sitting next to him, Ye Tian called out softly, "My son..."Caleb who had his eyes on his cake did not know that Ye Tian was talking to him.Ye Tian was unable to tear his eyes away from his son who looked nothing like him. Instead of white hair, Caleb inherited his mother's brownish black hair and Ye Tian felt relieved by it. As he watched the boy ate, he thought, "At least he didn't inherit my curse..." "Caleb!" Worried that the man was taking advantage of Caleb, he asked rudely, "I'm his brother. Who the hell are you?" "Just a passerby," replied Ye Tian. He tapped Caleb's shoulder to get his attention. When the little boy looked up at him, Ye Tian pointed at Tian Le with his chin. When he saw Tian Le, Caleb immediately finished the rest of his cake and ran towards him. "Tian Le!" "What have I told you before? Don't talk to strangers!" signed Tian Le. Caleb glanced at Ye Tian for a second before looking at Tian Le and signed, "He looks sad." "He's still a stranger! If Mama Zhen finds out about it, you are dead!" signed Tian Le as he glared at the man. He was old and well-read enough to know that sometimes, adults had nefarious intentions towards children. With a pout, Caleb signed, "Don't tell her, please...I won't do it again..." Ye Tian walked to them and patted Caleb's head before saying with a smile, "Be good and stay happy, ok?" Before the children can react, he walked off leaving them in a state of confusion. As he walked away, he thought sadly, "I would never acknowledge you, Caleb...and that is the best thing I can do for you."
