"Bitch." Kai Xin muttered.
Jane laughed as she thought about Alyssa's reddened face, "You know, you are only harming your reputation when you attacked her like that."
"It's not like i care much for my reputation. I'm an open book, unlike her."
Jane frowned when she heard her bestfriend's reply. In her mind, something was off. "Is it true? About her having a sugar daddy?"
"Yeah."
"How did you know?"
"He's a friend of a friend."
Jane gasped and pulled Kai Xin's sleeve to stop her from walking, "Kai Xin, no."
"What?" Kai Xin asked innocently.
"Your friend. Is he THAT kind of friend?"
Kai Xin scratched her nose and mumbled, "Yeah."
"No way!" Jane slapped Kai Xin's arms a few times.
"Ouch! That hurts, Jane Chu! Stop it!" Kai Xin cried out as she tried to pull away from Jane.
"How could you do stuff like that?"
"Why not?" Kai Xin asked, curious about what Jane thought about it. She had never told Jane about it, mostly because DX preferred to keep it low-key.
"It's immoral!"
"It's a business transaction."
"It's prostitution!"
Kai Xin's face darkened so much that Jane got scared and she whimpered, "I was only worried about you."
Kai Xin calmed herself down. However, it was obvious that she was displeased with her friend's statement when she said, "Jane, I'm not you. I have no intention of finding someone that I can truly trust and love, but I am still a human being who needs physical touch. This kind of transaction means the best of both worlds for me and him. He needs someone who he can talk to every now and then, and I need sex where I don't have to constantly worry about getting killed. The money is just a side benefit. It is there to keep us on our toes and to remind us that everything between us is just a business transaction. If you refuse to be friends with me because of this, then so be it."
She walked off without waiting for Jane's reply.
Watching her disappearing back, Jane did not chase after her. She liked Kai Xin's carefree devil-may-care lifestyle but there were things that she found it hard to accept about her.
Despite that, she felt hurt when Kai Xin nonchalantly presumed that she would refused to be her friend because of that.

Kai Xin sent a message to her "business partner" whom she knew would be back from his trip today, –
[ U back? free to9? ]
Within few seconds, he replied –
[ Where? ]
Kai Xin thought about it for a minute –
[ Ur place? ]
[ Can't. Kids @ home. Same place @ 9? ]
[ Deal. Name? ]
[ That kid from Avatar ]
"Zuko" Kai Xin thought to herself. That was his favorite character. She put on her earphones to drown out the noise as she sat on the train ride home.
Meanwhile, at DX's place. He was in a meeting when Kai Xin texted him. Her text brought a smile to his usually cold face as he thought about the fun that was about to come.
"Who texted you?"
DX touched his goatee as he watched his younger sworn brother, Callum take a shot of tequila, "That girl I told you about."
Callum raised his eyebrow, "Your sugar baby?"
"I don't think she likes to be called that. She prefers business partners."
"You paid her. She is your sugar baby."
"She's different." DX smiled as he thought about Kai Xin's antics. "She's not really in it for the money."
Callum downed another shot of tequila before saying, "Can't be that different if she's doing this kind of thing."
"You are only saying that because of your own prejudice. If you know her as a person, you would realize that she's unique in her own way."
"They are all unique." Callum complained bitterly as he downed another shot.
"No, they are not and you might want to slow down on killing yourself." DX defended Kai Xin. Then he had an idea, "Do you want to meet her?"
"Why?"
"You might like her enough."
"Money matters aside, she slept with you. I doubt she has any taste."
Callum smirked as he looked at the man sitting opposite him, all high and mighty just because he had someone to fuck around with.
"Fuck you." DX snarled, "You are hanging out with me. What does that make you?"
"Don't remind me of that." Callum frowned as he looked at him in disgust.
"Come to think of it, I don't want you to meet her. You have a habit of stealing my girlfriends."
"Only cause you only date gold diggers, and she is not your girlfriend. She's your whore."
DX's face turned black at the derogatory term, "I'm only allowing that remark this time on account that you are drunk. I'll cover the drinks for tonight. I need to pick up Jack and Lyle from my mum's. See you at work tomorrow and you better not use being drunk as an excuse."
DX left before Callum could say anything. Since he had barely drank anything, he was sober enough to drive. Hence, he told his driver to send Callum back while he drove his own car.
DX went to pick up his 10 year old twins and brought them shopping. Due to his busy schedule, he only managed to see them every so often. Most of the time, the twins were put in their grandmother's house which was kind of a last resort.
If Callum was more matured, he would have placed them with him. But between a drunk and a crazily strict woman, he decided on the latter. At least this way the boys would actually get to school and be back on time.
However, life with his mother was no walk in the park. His mother planned everything down to the tiniest detail and the boys were terrified of her. Hence, whenever he got back from his business trips, he would spoil them senseless.

While at dinner, DX told his boys, "Lisa will come at 8pm and stay with you guys. I'm meeting someone at 9. If you need me, just give me a call. Do not bother me unless someone is dying, and I don't mean for you to burn down the house again, Lyle."
Lyle pouted as he pushed his plate of uneaten foie gras aside, "You never have time for us."
"I just spent the entire evening with you guys."
"Sorry we are such a burden, President Du," Jack said solemnly as he dipped a fry into his milkshake. The restaurant that they were in did not serve milkshakes, but when the Du Family's Second Young Master said he wanted a milkshake, the manager went out to get it for him personally.
"Jack, not you too." DX groaned.
"If it's not your work, then it's Uncle Callum. Or one of your girlfriends. We are always the last in your mind." Lyle murmured to himself.
DX was powerless against his boys. He knew that he had constantly disappointed them. Eventually, he took out his phone and texted Kai Xin,
[ Might b late tonight. The kids are cranky.]
When Kai Xin saw that, she smiled to herself. She liked this about DX. He often placed his children's well-being before his own needs.
DX was worried that Kai Xin might be upset and was about to call her when he received a notification.
[ It's fine. Just come when you can. Hv fun w J & L. ]
He smiled inwardly when he saw that and quickly put his phone away. When he noticed his boys staring at him, he pretended to sigh, "OK, Boys. You win. I'll stay with you guys until you go to bed."
The twins immediately perked up. They knew that DX could not resist their charms.
