The next day, at the Board of Directors' Meeting, everyone was getting more and more impatient as they waited for DX's arrival.
Han Ye had arrived at the meeting to try to contain the situation.

After another 30 minutes, DX walked into the meeting room, looking completely disheveled. He had spent the entire night at the hospital and he did not sleep a wink. Song Qiao felt sorry when she saw him but she told herself that she would make him feel better soon.
The first half of the meeting went well. However, it turned ugly when they were about to vote for the next President of Du Conglomerate.
One of the directors pulled out the videos and photos of Kai Xin and pointed out that he was unable to vote for a President who had the intention to marry such a wanton woman. His view was echoed by a few other directors.
"I don't know where you find those photos and videos but I'm sure you know nothing about the truth…" said DX impatiently. He then yelled at Han Ye for not bringing in his coffee.
"President Du, you are a changed man. You used to take these meetings seriously but lately, you've been postponing and rescheduling the meetings at the whims of your woman. For such a woman! We would be more inclined to vote for you if the woman is proper like Ms. Song here, but unfortunately, you forced our hands…" said one of the directors.
In the end, there was six directors who voted against and six directors who voted for him. The last person who had not voted was his mother.
"Old Madam Du...Please cast your vote," said Director Song politely. He knew that the old woman disliked Kai Xin and he hoped that she could see what kind of bad influence Kai Xin was to his son.

Old Madam Du ignored him and asked her son, "Are you seriously going to choose her? Even if I said no?"
"There has never been a doubt in my mind that she's the woman for me," answered DX.

When Director Song looked at her in disbelief, Old Madam Du explained, "Despite my son's stubbornness and stupidity, he is my son and no one knows his abilities better than I do."
Director Song scoffed, "I thought Old Madam Du is able to think with a clear head but it looks like I'm wrong!"
Upon hearing the snide comment, Old Madam Du slapped the table hard with one hand as she snapped, "Ever since he took over the management of the company from his father, Du XiAn has been expanding Du Conglomerates and bring a minimum of 20% increments in profit annually. Even though he is a tough boss, his employees are happy with him and of all the companies, the companies that are directly under his management has the lowest turnover…"
She glared at every director as she added, "...Every decision he made was for the benefit of Du Conglomerate. However, because of his private life, a life that none of you had a right to question, you decided that he would be unable to lead. Shame on you! If my husband is still alive, I know that he would choose to support our son as well!"
DX went wide-eyed as he listened to his mother. A smile appeared on his face and he nodded at his mother to express his gratitude.

"No. I disagree. What about those videos and photos? You've yet to give us any explanation for that woman's behavior!" snapped Director Song.
DX glanced at Han Ye who went out earlier to take a call. When his assistant nodded, DX turned to Director Song and said, "I don't think I need to give you any explanation, Director Song...Considering that you and your daughter tried to kill my daughter…"
Everyone else in the meeting room gasped when they heard the accusation. It was a serious allegation and they found it hard to believe that Director Song and his daughter was capable of such a thing.
