She managed to fight the person long enough while slowly edging towards the door. However, just as she was about to run out the door, she saw two guards standing in front of the door. Knowing that she was trapped, she slowly turned and came face to face with an annoyed Callum.
He growled, "Who are you?"
"A friend of President Du?" She smiled sheepishly and slowly backed away from the door but the guards stopped her.
"Bring him down to the garden for President Du to handle."
So, with her hands handcuffed behind her, she was taken down to the garden where many eyes were soon on her. People started crowding near them as their curiosity took over. When DX saw Callum walking over to him with the guards who was walking behind a man, he frowned.
The man seemed somewhat familiar. When they got nearer and DX caught the light and faintly familiar scent of daisy, he folded his arms.
The guards forced the man to kneel down in front of President Du. He knew exactly who the 'man' who was kneeling down in front of him.
"Who is he?" Old Madam Du asked Callum.
"I found him in the twins room." Callum reported while keeping his eyes on the 'intruder'.
The crowd gasped as their imagination took over. They were discussing loudly on the identity of the intruder.
"An intruder?"
"Could he be a kidnapper?"
"How did he get in?"
"He's dead meat!"
DX cleared his throat and Han Ye immediately raised his hand to warn the crowd to be quiet.
"What have you got to say for yourself?" DX asked as sternly as he could. She had said she would surprise him at his birthday and indeed, he was surprised by this get-up of hers.
Before Kai Xin can say anything, a female voice called out, "President Du, please forgive him. He is my friend!"
Two small female figures braved the crowd and appeared in front of DX.
He had a vague recollection of seeing these two before but like most women, they never really caught his interest. Frowning, he asked, "You are?"
The girls bowed and Naomi quickly added, her eyes darting between Kai Xin and DX, "Naomi Nakamura from the Nakamura Family. This is my younger sister, Rin. Please forgive him, President Du. He did not meant any harm to the young masters."
DX turned back to Kai Xin and said coldly, "You did pretty well out there. Somehow you managed to get two innocent girls to plead for your innocence."
Kai Xin merely looked up at him with a silly grin on her face. With a shrug, she said, "I'm too charming."
The crowd was curious as they exchanged whispers amongst themselves. They were wondering who the intruder was as he seemed fearless in front of President Du.
"Give me the key." DX told Callum as he helped Kai Xin up from her kneeling position. When Callum handed him the key with a curious glance, DX immediately went forward and unlocked the cuff on Kai Xin. He whispered to her, "You should only be cuffed to my bed."
Kai Xin blushed. When Callum saw her red cheeks, he realized now who the intruder was. Song Qiao who had been watching from the side was curious as well. For some reason, she felt jealous of the proximity between the two.
In fact, everyone present there could tell that the relationship between the two was more than mere acquaintance. It was not merely because DX had unlocked the intruder's handcuff. It was the position that he was in when he did so. Instead of going around him, DX unlocked it from the front and the people there can see him whispering something to the intruder.
"Why are you dressed like that?" DX admonished her as he lead her to the side, all the while ignoring the stares. He had given Han Ye his usual look that was his sign for, 'you deal with this'. Thus, Han Ye managed to stop the people from getting too near to his boss and the 'intruder'.
"You naughty thing." DX looked at her. He wanted to scold her but when he saw her pouty look, he gave up. "What if Callum had hurt you?"
"He can't even touch me. If it was not because of the guards, I would have managed to escape." She said with her nose high up in the air, as if she had done nothing wrong. Then she turned to him and excitedly asked, "Are you surprised? Are you surprised?"
"Yes, yes." He laughed and tousled her incredibly real short wig. "If it was not because of your scent, I would have trouble recognizing you. So, yes. I am really surprised."
"So you are not angry at me?" She tilted her head to one side as she looked at him.
"As if I would." He smiled.
Kai Xin saw Naomi and Rin who were looking worriedly towards them. "By the way, DX. Is there any kind of competition or lucky draw that was organized for today?"
