"Kara!" A familiar voice called out to her.
She heard heavy footsteps heading her way before someone gently took her hand.
When she turned and saw DX, she felt as if the boulder that threatened to squash her to death was lifted.
"What's wrong?" DX asked with a nervous voice when he saw Kai Xin's pale face.
Holding her pale face, he asked worriedly, "Tell me. Did anyone hurt you?"
With a small voice, she whispered,
"DX, did you see a white haired man standing opposite the road? He's about 30 years old and he's wearing a white Supreme t-shirt."
DX looked up but he saw no one with that description.
"Kara, there's no one there."
Kai Xin turned and true to his words, there was no one there.
DX pulled her into a hug and whispered, "Did you see someone?"
Feeling safe now, she shook her head and hugged him back, "No. It was probably just my imagination."
As he glanced down at the beads of sweat on the back of her neck, he knew that something scared her.
Not knowing what to do, he just held her as they ignored the looks given by the passerby.
Two men hugging each other. It did not matter which country they were in, it was bound to attract attention.
"KAI XIN!"
They turned and saw Jane and Mo Shaoyun rushing towards them.
In her worrywart mode, Jane failed to see DX. In her eyes, there was only Kai Xin.
She quickly shot a list of questions at her best friend, "Are you alright? Did someone bothered you? What happened? Tell me! I'll get Shaoyun to beat him up!"
Kai Xin smiled at her friend, "Nothing. It was my imagination. Probably caused by lack of sleep lately."
She looked at DX who had a faint smile on his face, "By the way, this is DX, the man you talked to previosly"
Jane looked up and saw the man that scared her over the phone. He looked scarier in real life!
Jane thought how he looked like a death harbinger - a very handsome death harbinger - in his black striped suit and gulped.
She had expected an old man with beer belly. Never had she expected Kai Xin's sugar daddy to be a ripped guy.
As she tugged Shaoyun's sleeves nervously, she whispered,
"Shao-Shaoyun…D-did you see him?"
Mo Shaoyun pulled her back towards him and stood protectively in front of her as he said, "Yeah, I saw him."
He turned to DX, and in a respectful voice, he asked, "Are you President Du XiAn?"
DX answered with a gruff voice, "You got a problem with that?"
Mo Shaoyun shook his head nervously, "N-no! No problem with that whatsoever!"
Kai Xin laughed at the effect DX had on them. She felt better now that her friends are here.
As they walked away, she glanced back at the spot she thought she saw Ye Tian. Was that really her imagination?

They went to an upscale Japanese restaurant nearby where DX had booked a private room for the four of them.
Jane could not stop staring at DX. Even Mo Shaoyun himself found it hard to keep his eyes away.
Kai Xin laughed at her friends, "He is only a human. You guys can stop staring now."
"Human?" Jane gasped, "Are you sure?"
Kai Xin shrugged, "He had some supernatural strength, but mostly human."
When the meal was served, Jane noted that everything DX ordered was Kai Xin's favorite. From the appetizer to the main and the drinks.
She watched as DX picked up Kai Xin's plate and filled it up with sashimi. Then he filled up a bowl with some freshly made soba in miso soup.
When he was done, he placed everything in front of Kai Xin and said, "Eat."
Kai Xin picked up her chopsticks and took a bite before asking Jane, "How was work? I didn't get to talk to you much lately."
Jane sighed as she watched Mo Shaoyun picked some meat from the roasted salmon head for her,
"It was pretty hectic. There was a horrible car accident last week and the driver died on the spot. Her young daughter who was in the car was severely injured and we spent the first few days operating on her but we failed to save her legs."
She took a bite from the food on her plate before saying sadly, "She was just a child. It would be hard for her to deal with the loss."
"Ah," Kai Xin thought out loud, "Was it the accident between a Subaru and a Lamborghini? I read about it on the news."
Jane nodded, "It was drowned out by the news of the Shangguan Family. The paramedic I know showed me some of the photos at the scene. It was horrible. The car was totaled and it was a miracle for the little girl to survive."
DX frowned. He saw the news through his phone when he was waiting in the living room for Callum to finish off the business with Shangguan Xing at the basement.
Han Ye had informed him of the identity of the victim and Kai Xin did not know this yet, but the victim was someone she knew.
Kai Xin sighed, "That poor child. Please let me know if you need any help."
Jane nodded. To change the tone of the conversation, she leaned over and whispered, "Shaoyun and I did it."
When she heard the news, Kai Xin choked on the piece of salmon she was eating. DX immediately gave her her cup of hot green tea before patting her on the back.
Once she got her breath back, Kai Xin glared at Mo Shaoyun, "You did what to my girl?"
"Ok, I know you are cross-dressing now but Jane is MY girlfriend."
Mo Shaoyun noticed that DX was giving him a cold glance and he immediately toned down his voice, "With all due respect, Jane is my girlfriend."
"Don't kill him, Kai Xin. I like him." Jane defended her boyfriend, "And he did not hurt me or anything."
"Fine," said Kai Xin. She cannot intrude too much. After all, those two had been dating for years.
"Ah!" Jane suddenly clapped her hands together and asked excitedly, "So, how did the two of you met?"
