When he smiled and patted the back of her head gently, she grinned.

"As I was wondering whether to call the cops, my ex-boss came out to greet them. Turns out he is my ex-boss' friend and one of her clients."
"Your ex-boss?" asked Jane, "Is it Layla?"
Kai Xin nodded. She leaned back into her seat and chuckled,
"To be honest, the first time I saw him, I thought he was kind of a prick."
She glanced at the man who had the nerve to avoid her gaze.
He knew exactly why she thought of him as a prick.
"Why?" asked Mo Shaoyun curiously, "He's President Du! Everyone wants to meet him."
Kai Xin scoffed.
"He was acting so high and mighty that I just want to slap him up and down...,"
Kai Xin waited for DX to look up before asking, "...Do you want to tell them why?"
Feeling guilty, DX answered gruffly, "No."
She grinned and turned to her friends,
"This guy, the first thing he did was to order me around even though I told him clearly that I am not his assistant."
DX remembered. When he saw Kai Xin again at Layla's firm, he was really happy about it.
However, for someone who had girls thrown themselves at him since young, he was clueless when it came to courting.
All he wanted to do was to see her and talked to her. His way of doing so was by ordering her around.
Ordering people around used to get him whatever he wanted and all his previous girlfriends seemed to like that.

Kai Xin who had been in a bad tempered since the day DX walked into the firm often glared at him.

She thought of it as odd that he would always be at the firm whenever Layla was away, but Layla had dismissed it as "President Du being President Du".
However, after two weeks, Kai Xin had enough of the man.
She was busy with her work and this guy just waltzed into her office, sat on her couch and started to order her around.
"For the last time, President Du! I am NOT your servant. You have Mr. Han here! Ask him to bring you your coffee."
DX crossed his legs as he took a quick sweep around her office, "Han Ye is busy."
"He's just standing there!" snapped Kai Xin while pointing at Han Ye who was guarding the door.
"He's busy standing there."
Kai Xin cursed under her breath. It was like talking to a wall.
She opened a file and pretended to read it before saying in an exasperated tone,
"President Du, I am really busy today and I don't have the time nor the mood to deal with you. Layla would be back in about 2 hours. Please come back then."
When she heard no reply from him, she thought he had left. However, when she glanced up, he was right in front of her.
"Go on a date with me."
Kai Xin blinked. She thought she heard wrongly until he repeated the sentence again.
Outraged, she pushed him out of her room. Before she slammed the door shut, she snarled at him,
"I don't have the time for your childish game, President Du, and I don't do dates! Please leave me alone!"
DX had thought of breaking the door down but Layla would probably punish him for that.
There were two women who were not afraid of him. One was the one who birthed him. The other one was Layla.
He glanced at Kai Xin's door and hoped that she would be the third.
After debating internally about the pros and cons of forcing his way in, he decided to sit outside Kai Xin's room and torment everyone else.

Mo Shaoyun gasped, "You rejected President Du? What is wrong with you, Zhen Kai Xin?"
Kai Xin laughed, "Whether he is the president of a company or president of the country, he is still a man."
Jane rested her chin on the palms as she asked, "How did you two... you know. Your relationship..."
To her surprise, DX answered, "I sent her a contract."

"Since she wouldn't answer to a normal proposal, I can only do it in a legal way. By discussing the terms and conditions."
