She glanced down at her shoes and when she noticed her hands were trembling, she grabbed onto her pinafore tightly to stop them.

When he tightened his grip on her throat, she clawed against his hands as she fought for her life.
Once he was happy with her reactions, he released her.
Before he left, he warned, "Listen to me. You lowly Zhens should keep a low profile. This is not your world to stand out in."
As she watched his receding back, she coughed out weakly, "I-I would g-get you b-back!"
With tears falling down her cheeks, she hit her thighs hard hoping that the pain would help her in getting her focus back.
Wiping her tears away, she kept telling herself, "I would definitely pay them back."

He held her face in his right palm as he asked gently, "Let's go to my place, alright?"
