Back at the Du Mansion, DX watched on as Kai Xin bickered around with his twins.
The twins challenged her to a game earlier and when she lost, they made fun of her.
Annoyed, she sat quietly at the edge of the couch trying to Google and read everything she can about the game.
Once she memorized all the information and tricks, she challenged them back and when the twins lose, they called her out for cheating.
Kai Xin stuck her tongue out at them, "It's not cheating when I learned it myself!"
Jack jumped on the couch and pointed his finger at her angrily, "You are supposed to learn how to play by PLAYING! Not reading it online! Tell him off, Lyle!"
Lyle nodded, "He's right."
However, she ignored them and turned to DX. With a pout, she asked, "Is that cheating?"
DX gulped and shook his head when he saw her adorableness. He had no defense against such attack.
Clearing his throat, he replied, "I didn't see him using any cheat codes. How is he cheating?"
When they heard their father's reply, both Jack and Lyle knew that the man in front of them would be totally unreliable and out of character whenever this K was around.
DX smiled when he heard Kai Xin's evil laughter as she turned back to the twins smugly.
He was glad that she felt better. Her troubled face was something he had not wanted to see.
'Ding'
Glancing down at his phone, he saw a message from Han Ye. Not wanting to stop their loud bickering, he went to the kitchen to make the call.
"Speak."
Han Ye reported when he heard DX's voice,
"President Du, as per your instructions, I went through all the recordings from the Japanese restaurant, but parts of the recordings were missing. It was roughly around the time when you and Ms. Zhen was there."
"Was it the same person that hacked into our system?"
"No, sir. This was a simple job. All the security cameras were turned off. Most likely, someone paid an employee to turn it off."
DX frowned, "Can you trace who?"
"The security room was opened to all employees and there was no CCTV outside the room. I went through the details of the bank account of every employees but there was no suspicious deposit for the past two weeks. If someone was paid, it was most likely done in cash. However..."
"What?"
"I did found a trace of a white haired man. I was looking through the security cameras that was around the newsstand and I found something suspicious. I will send it to you now so that you can understand."
DX pulled up the video that Han Ye just sent him. The camera was attached to a light post opposite Kai Xin.
He saw Kai Xin standing there and he watched as she slowly turned around.
The quality of the video was bad but he could tell that something scared her. If he had the ability, he would turn back time and arrived earlier so that he can protect her from whatever was scaring her.
Something caught his attention and he rewinded the video before playing it at a slower rate. He saw it. From the semi reflective storefront windows behind her, he saw the reflection of a person with white hair.
It was too blurry to see the face but the person that she thought she saw was definitely there. It was not her imagination.
Angered that someone actually dared to move against his woman, he barked an order, "Han Ye, continue to monitor her surroundings! I want this bastard found as soon as possible!"
"Yes, sir."
DX hung up the phone and went back to the living room. However, no one was there. When he heard voices coming from the foyer, he went to have a look.
He saw that Old Mo, the twins, Kai Xin and the maids were looking at a wrapped gift that was about the size of his kids.
"What is happening here? Did Callum ordered something stupidly big again?" asked DX.
Old Mo bowed, "No, sir. I checked with Master Callum and he said no."
"K, bring the twins in. Old Mo, throw this thing out."
Just as Old Mo was about to move, they heard a muffled voice from inside the box, "No!"
Someone cut opened the box from the inside.
DX immediately shielded Kai Xin and the twins as the maids moved in to capture the perpetrator.
However, when they saw a little boy in white shirt paired with black suspenders, black pants and a newsboy cap walking out from the box, they were confused on whether they should act.
They were even more confused when they saw the boy stuck a red ribbon in front of his chest.
"Catch him," ordered DX, "Even if he is still a boy, he might be dangerous."
When the guards caught hold of the boy, he got scared and started crying, "Daddy, it's me! Your son!"
