Chapter 26 - The first Movie Card Set (1)

The Eastern Citadel lied on the border of the Eastern District. Outside of the citadel was the wilderness.  Occasionally, the DongWei Institution would put their disciples into the wild to practice actual battling skills.   However, to ensure the safety of those disciples, a few instructors would have been following them.  Although they wouldn’t be entering the inner area of the wilderness, to prevent any unwanted dangers, the institution had established strict safety protection methods.

This time, a few of the disciples from the Stars Courtyard had wanted to participate in this training session. Unexpectedly, there weren’t enough instructors to keep track of all of them.  Anyhow, the Stars Courtyard’s disciples had made their point of wanting to join time after time. This had made the DongWei Institution fall into an awkward position.  If something were to happen to the disciples of the Stars Courtyard when they were at the DongWei Institution, the consequences would have been unimaginable.  Hence, Zuo TingYi hurriedly rushed over to Wang Ze to negotiate. He was hoping that he would be able to change those disciples’ minds.

Wang Ze immediately understood Zuo TingYi’s intentions. He smiled then coldly said, “Junior brother, you don’t need to worry about them.  Before we depart, the chairman will soon have counseled us. They alone will be liable for anything that might happen to them.  The disciples in my institution would at least know how to protect themselves. There’s no need to worry about them.”

Although his tone was cold, his words still showed off an absolute confidence.  Zuo TingYi was startled, but he felt relief. They were the disciples of the Stars Courtyard, how could they have not been able to have kept themselves safe?

Nodding his head, Zuo TingYi then bid Wang Ze farewell and went to do the things that they had both agreed on.

Looking at Zuo Ting’s back as he was leaving, Wang Ze was astonished. He was the one who would oversee the whole exchange group this time. The responsibility on his shoulders sure wasn’t small.  After looking around, his expression was quite complicated, but then he immediately regained his calmness.

Wang Ze felt as if his blood was boiling thinking about the institution’s glory back then and its current decline.  He silently determined that he would have to do well this time.

As soon as Chen Mu woke up, he felt that his mind was refreshed. He looked for something to eat then casually started to organize the drafts on the table.

Not long after that, Lei Zi gradually woke up as well.

“You’re awake?” Chen Mu asked while still bending down to rearrange the drafts in his hand.

Lei Zi muttered a yes. He then stood up and stretched his back, groaning then turning around, “Wooden head, do we have to buy the materials today?”

“Yeah, I wanted to discuss that with you.”

Outside the store, Lei Zi’s expression turned green. His face twisted; he grinned his teeth then said, “This is robbing!” He painfully looked at the remaining amount of money.

Chen Mu ignored Lei Zi. He had completely emerged in the feelings of satisfaction.  The pouch in his hand was full of the Card-Making Materials and the Card Ink. He had never had these many components before.

Chen Mu immediately chased Lei Zi outside as soon as they arrived home. When he was making the Cards, what he needed most was peace. However, hoping a person like Lei Zi to keep quiet was almost like forcing a deaf-mute person to talk.

Looking at the mountain of components in front of him, Chen Mu suddenly felt excited like he had never been before.  Although he only had several simple components, it didn’t affect his eagerness.

Chen Mu didn’t start right away. Even though he had engraved every detail of the whole story in his mind, he still needed to transform that into the details on the Card.  Moreover, the components he had right now weren’t that much. If he could have diminished the number of mistakes, he could have saved a significant amount of money.

Chen Mu had never thought that he had an innate talent for creating Cards, but there was one thing that he felt that he had exceeded the other people.

He was hard-working enough! Because of his saving habits he couldn’t help but risk his life adjusting the Card’ structure in his mind.  By doing that, not only did he save a fair amount of money, but also helped himself to become more familiar with the Card’ structure.

These were the preparation steps.

First was using the Holy Stone Seed and the Fussy Heart Sap to blend with an equal amount of the Blue Starch Ink then boiling the mixture under low heat for ten minutes, until the Holy Stone Seed had completely dissolved. The Card Ink, when finished would have a glue-like texture. After that, one needed to stir the mixture up with a stick until several of the blue color light waves started to appear on the surface. With a sour and spicy smell, it could have made one’s nose felt stuffy.  Right now, Chen Mu looked more like a wizard in those novels than a Card Creator.

This story was called “The Fortuitous Encounter”, which Chen Mu had soon learned by heart.

Chen Mu didn’t wait for the Card Ink to cool down, he hurriedly took out an empty Card. His right hand held up a dip pen, slightly dipped into the Card Ink.  He put the dip pen onto the empty Card without any hesitation.

His shifting strokes were like flying dragons and dancing phoenixes, as smooth as floating clouds and flowing water. He didn’t even stop for a second.  The warm Card Ink followed the pen tip and was dropped on the empty Card. Being controlled by Chen Mu’s Perception, the ink was illuminating a faint white light.

Concentration could be seen in Chen Mu’s eyes; his face showed his meticulousness.

This was what Chen Mu had learned from the illusory scene in the mysterious Card.  When making Cards, if one were able to take advantage from the Card Ink when it was still warm, the strokes would be incredibly smooth. Moreover, it would significantly increase the degree of the compatibility between the Card Ink and the surface of the Card. This could help create an excellent Illusory Card.

However, it only took two minutes for the Card Ink to totally cool down.  In other words, Chen Mu needed to make a complete Card within two minutes. This was the reason Chen Mu had regularly calculated the structure of the whole Card in his mind in advance.

He had soon remembered each detail of this Card’s structure.  Moreover, this pair of hands had created countless Energy Cards, without any flaws, like a precise machine.

Compared to the hands that could be considered the Thousand Refined Holy Hammer, Chen Mu felt that his Perception ability was much worse.

Anyhow, he was glad that so far he hadn’t made any mistakes.

The patterns were like wild roses. One by one, each stroke was extended and became more and more complicated. The strokes were made up with the patterns, which were shining with a faint light and sparkling as if it was breathing.

Chen Mu’s face was still concentrated and meticulous. Looking at the sweat on his forehead; one could see this was not an easy job.

Although he had prepared throughout, he forgot a crucial point.  That was how to use his Perception!  He was devoted to getting familiar with the structure and had overlooked this matter.

His breathing started to become paralyzed. Using the Perception required many mental efforts, especially for people whose Perception wasn’t high. Not to mention he barely even used it himself.  Right now, he felt as if he was gradually being drained.  Although the Perception was still smoothly being transmitted to the pen-tip, and the entire structure was still emerging in his mind, he had started to feel less capable than desirable.

The patterns’ light on the Card’s surface had begun to fade.

If the light on the patterns disappeared before he could have finished the Card, then this Card would totally have become a waste.

Blue veins could be seen on his forehead; he was breathing heavily. His sweats were constantly flowing.  The only thing that didn’t change was the dip pen on Chen Mu’s hand.

The empty feeling annoyed Chen Mu, but he didn’t have any other choice.
