Chapter 27 - The first Movie Card Set (2)

Chen Mu grinned his teeth tightly, his eyes widened. His normally calm eyes had turned into a blood-red color. Chen Mu was trying to drain all of his powers to arouse the last strain of the Perception. His hand’s movements were like a breeze, extremely gentle.

The pen-tip moved in a small curving line to create a soft hook, which dimmed the light, hardly seen by the naked eyes.  Chen Mu’s wrist slightly turned, he immediately used the force to draw a dot.  The last strain of the Perception followed the full-of-power dot, transferring into the Card.

The whole Card suddenly lit up. The Card’ surface, which was illuminating faint light, had recovered to normal. The Card had also turned into a regular Illusory Card.  Only the remaining of the last brilliant light lingered in Chen Mu’s eyes.

Chen Mu exhaustedly sat down. His whole body was drenched. He was breathing heavily, but happiness could be seen in his eyes.

Succeeded! He had succeeded!

Although the whole process was incredibly thrilling, he still had managed to succeed!

This Illusory Card was the most complex Illusory Card he had ever created. The amount of Perception he wasted had way surpassed his expectations. However, he still succeeded. An indescribable joy filled his heart.

He held the Illusory Card with his hand, which could no longer feel anything. Even though he had soon learned by heart the patterns on this Card, he could still feel the mysteriousness and the power of this Card.

Chen Mu had been in this extreme exhilaration state for the whole day.  He constantly put the Card into the gear, looking at it again and again. He didn’t feel bored even after hundreds of times.

But Chen Mu had regained his consciousness the day after that. He couldn’t help but think about the situation yesterday.  He knew that his success was mostly based on luck.  If he was to make another one today, the chances of success would have only been around fifty percent.

Fifty percent, this probability was indeed small. It also meant that the damage would have been severe.  Right now, he and LeI Zi couldn’t have been able to bear such losses.

He suddenly thought about the Fiery Dragon Card that he had made. Talking about the refinement aspect, it had far exceeded this Illusory Card, but he had made it with ease.  How could it have been so? Theoretically speaking, the Fiery Dragon Card was much more challenging, but in reality, it was the total opposite.  He clearly remembered, he did encounter some small problems when making the Fiery Dragon Card. However, in general, it was much easier.

After carefully examining it, he suddenly realized one thing.  The Illusory Card’s requirements for its illusions were quite simple, but it was incredibly hard when it came to movements. Therefore, he was wasting a lot more energy for it.

Movements… movements…

Chen Mu was in a daze. His fingers unconsciously tapped on the table top.

Suddenly, he slammed his fist on the table. Chen Mu recalled a different type of Card inside of the illusory scene of the mysterious Card – the Token Card.  Regarding the knowledge of the Token Card, he had only skimmed over it and didn’t dig in too deep. He was still pouring all of his energy in learning about the Illusory Cards.  But a sentence had been engraved deep inside of him, “The thing called Token meant calculating movements.”

This was the sentence that had flashed in his mind like a spark a moment ago.  He vaguely felt that the Token Card which he had never heard of before might have been the solution to his problems.

This sudden discovery had shaken Chen Mu. He unhesitatingly entered the Illusory scene inside of that mysterious Card, once again.

This time, Chen Mu had stayed inside of that illusion for two days and one night. When he stepped out of it, his eyes’ sockets were deepened, and his lips were chapped. His whole body had been completely drained. Two days and one night without a drop of water, but he wasn’t discouraged. His eyes were sparkling as if he had just found a treasure.

Excitement, his spirit was extremely excited. He was itching to start working right away.  However, with his body being in such state, he couldn’t help but to rest and eat first.

Even when he was resting, he was still constantly thinking.  His brain was risking its life in trying to digest the amount of knowledge he had gained inside of that illusion. On the other side, his mouth was still unconsciously chewing on the bread.

No one could have had understood Chen Mu’s joy right now. This kind of joy was even stronger than when he had just learned how to make an Energy Card.  At that time, he was still young; his knowledge was limited. He wouldn’t have been able to have comprehended in how learning to make Energy Cards could have affected his life.  But right now, he understood well that this “Token Card” could basically turn his life upside down.

For the next three days, Chen Mu was still immersed in working.  He totally ignored his surroundings; he even kicked Lei Zi out.

There was only one thing existing in his mind right now, and that was his new idea.

Hong Tao looked at the disciples standing besides him, then glanced over the Stars Courtyard’s disciples, he couldn’t help but sigh. No wonder they were from a big institution!  Most of the disciples of the DongWei Institution were walking, but the Stars Courtyard’s disciples were casually flying in the air.

Although Hong Dao could fly, he knew that even him, could have never been as nonchalant as them. One would have needed a Shuttle Card to fly. Similar to the Shuttle Cars which were being sold in the market, its essential core was the Shuttle Card.  The Shuttle Car’s structure could help them fly in mid-air easily, but the human body wasn’t made for flying.  Hence, people needed the Shuttle Card to fly. The higher the level of the Shuttle Card was, the stronger the airflow it emitted; this had made it become harder to control. Therefore, it required a high-level of control technique.   Moreover, flying demanded a strong balance ability.

Generally, disciples at DongWei Institution all used something called the Ethereal Card. This was a Shuttle Card that had been simplified. It could have released a certain amount of airflow downwards, that way it would have decreased the body weight that the legs were bearing.   It was extremely convenient and also quite simple. It could increase the walking speed of one person, and save one’s energy.

However typical supreme masters wouldn’t even have bothered to use this type of Card.  A high-level Shuttle Card could create incredibly strong airflow. Their flying speed were only faster than of a Shuttle Car, but also more flexible.

Hong Dao could tell that the Shuttle Cards which the disciples of the Stars Courtyard were using must have been at least at the level three and above, just at a glance. With his capacity, he could have also used a level three Shuttle Card, but not too skillfully.  The DongWei Institution’s disciples were looking at the disciples of the Stars Courtyard in admiration. The guiding instructor could only sigh, in seeing this scene.

Young people couldn’t constrain their eagerness to win; they tried to go forward even when knowing that their opponent’s capacity had surpassed them.  Everyone started to speed up. The guiding instructor also didn’t say anything.

The group had quickly entered the dangerous zone.  At this time, the guiding instructors then ordered everyone to stop and rest to recover their energy.  The majority of the disciples of the DongWei Institution were already out of breath. They had wasted quite a lot of energy. Physical strength wasn’t a big advantage for the Card Cultivators.

On the contrary, the Stars Courtyard’s disciples were nonchalant. Their breathings weren’t even discrete.

Although the instructors were feeling embarrassed, they understood well of the possible dangers in front of them. No matter what, they needed to ensure the safety of these disciples.

Among the disciples of the Stars Courtyard, a guy who was wearing glasses suddenly raised his right hand, five fingers all opened.

A light green blade about half the size of a palm abruptly appeared in his hands. An icy crescent-moon-like light streak flashed from behind those glasses as the disciple gently pushed his right hand forward.

The crescent-shaped blade suddenly lost its binding, shot towards a bush three meters away from them like an arrow that was released from the bow, tearing up the air while faintly shrieking.
