Without turning back, Caesar left the fox-kins' and knights' line of sight, releasing the heavy tension and causing the multitude of men to breathe out a sigh of relief. Even if they respected Caesar, it didn't change the fact that they feared him as well. All of them had bared witness to his feats and ruthless nature.

Caesar was a ruler who demanded respect but also warranted fear. No man, nor fox-kin present would even dare challenge his orders, whether they were unethical or not. Unfortunately for Caesar, he was destined to never be capable of forming friendships with his men. No matter how hard he tried.

As if further solidifying this fact, the horizon vaguely illuminated Caesar's desolate but sturdy back. His normal elegant smile was plastered on his face as he headed for the palace, to prepare for his group of employees who were going to arrive soon.

Although he exerted a decent bit of his mana, he made sure not to stain his clothes with any foul sweat. His perfectly form-fitted suit was still in pristine condition as he arrived at the large palace doors. The dozen or so heavily armored guards kneeled courteously as Caesar walked past them, to which he greeted with a slight nod of his head.

"A group of rather unique people will be arriving shortly," Caesar said, "there will be an obnoxious older man accompanied by a beautiful, sophisticated woman with black hair. Treat them politely and lead them into the royal library."

After receiving a simple confirmation from the guards, Caesar strode away and walked down the lengthy hallways until he arrived at the library doors. It was a somewhat large door and a peculiar handle made out of pure gold decorated the front.

Caesar pulled the handle and entered into the library, rapidly being greeted by hundreds of bookshelves and the strong scent of paper. A few rectangular tables were laid out on the floors and some windows let in a refreshing breeze.

He pulled out his pair of white, silk gloves and began placing the tables together, dusting off some of the chairs as well. He then placed a few already prepared candles onto the table and lit them with a nearby sconce before sitting down on the furthest chair.

It looked similar to the other ones but it possessed a splendid cushion made out of some sort of animal fur. It was white of color and further elevated Caesar's already tall figure, making appear even more imposing then normal.

Soon, the sun started to descend and darkness encroached upon the lands, signifying the time when the meeting was supposed to start. Caesar waited alone in a relatively well-lit room, he was currently flipping page after page of a somewhat interesting book.

The candles flickered periodically and finally, a loud knock resounded throughout the library. However, instead of waiting for a reply, the guests impatiently barged into the room and walked inside.

They were led by Danny and Veronica; the guests seemed to endless pour into the room. Some were young, old, and even a few other women were present. Some blacksmiths and engineers even brought a few business cards along.

Of course, Veronica and Danny sat on his left and right respectively, while the others found their chairs around the table. Their numbers were too vast and a few more tables were connected to the main one until finally, the meeting was ready to proceed.

The loud babbling seemed to immediately stop as Caesar tapped the table with his index finger. He then took out a piece of parchment from his suit pocket and laid it out in front him, streaking his hands across it.

"Our business has only thrived for around a year or so, however, in that time, all of you have worked hard to earn a decent amount of money," Caesar said as he scrutinized the paper, "nonetheless, some of you have worked harder than others, and, of course, deserve better rewards."

As he spoke to here, he stated 10 somewhat forgettable names that he read off the piece of parchment. Each time he called out a name, the respective person would stand up and wait for further instructions. Soon, 10 people were standing up from the chair, directing their attention toward Caesar.

"The 10 of you have surpassed the rest when it came to hours worked and efficiency," Caesar said, "I know not of your personal life, however, none of that matters from a business standpoint, as such, I shall reward all of you with a pay-raise and a higher position."

As he spoke to here, he gestured for Veronica to stand up, to which she complied and read off a piece of paper she had brought herself. Simply stating the benefits and gains of their new position within the company, naturally, invoking the jealous of those nearby.

The entire situation felt surreal to the lucky 10, they had rather poor backgrounds and were working their hardest to put food on the table. But now, their dreams had come true and they were finally recognized. Happiness bloomed within their hearts and an unshakable loyalty formed.

All of this was to be expected and a subtle smiled played on Caesar's lips. He stood up after Veronica sat down and circled the table, garnering the attention of all those present. His slender finger trailed the shoulder of those seated and the candles flickered ominously.

"Naturally, since there were those that worked better than expected, there were also those with lack-luster capabilities," he paused as he stopped behind a lone back, "just as there are those that deserve promotions, there are those that deserve demotions. Such is the way of life, the strong thrive, while the weak are slowly gobbled up."

Once again, Caesar named off five poor souls, to which he directed to either quit the company or move to a rather ragged work-place. Caesar planned to make two buildings, one being much larger, elegant, and cleaner than the other.

The five people he named off immediately stood up enraged, "what is the meaning of this?" one of them asked, "you were gone for nearly a year, who cares if our work was sub-par. At the very least, we earned you a decent sum."

He was a burly man with unique orange hair coupled with an ungroomed beard. The man screamed laziness and Caesar didn't even bat an eye-lid as he gazed upon the man with disdain, "The sum you, in particular, earned left much to be desired. In contrast, your colleagues worked much harder than you, but they brought home the same salary," Caesar paused as he scanned the room, "doesn't that just simply scream injustice!?!"

His words caused an uproar as the rest looked at the five men with disgust, all of them felt it was unfair that they made the same amount. Caesar, of course, smiled at this development and pushed once again.

"Like I said before, if you wish to leave, be my guest. However, if not, then your work-place will be changing in the near future." Caesar said with a flick of his hair and sat back down on the chair, not sparing them another glance.

The five men became ashamed, none of them were willing to leave the company, as they could be considered poor. The only thing they could do was relent and begrudgingly accept their fate, unwillingness brooding within their hearts.

After the main topics were settled, the meeting continued in a moderately awkward atmosphere. They went over expectations, dress-code, and the new location. Caesar planned on using nearly all of the earnings to build a much larger building for them to work. He wasn't worried much about money, as he would earn it back once the next business requests came in.

Soon, the meeting ended and the normal members left to go home, only leaving Veronica, Danny, and Caesar left in the room. The tension seemed to disappear and Veronica relaxed her shoulders whilst glancing at Caesar admirably.

He easily controlled the crowd and forced them to condemn the bad workers whilst also showing them that they too could be in that position in the future. He segregated the lazy and the hard-working, creating an example for the others. "This is what happens when you do good and bad".

"Ah, yes, Danny… I have something just for you!" Caesar said with a wide smile as he took out a pen and paper from a nearby drawer. His words enticed both Danny and Veronica and they couldn't help but scrutinize the drawing being made by Caesar.

"I introduce to you, the new and temporary face of the company."
