Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Wuxing fired five bullets and put down his weapons, finding it wasn't necessary to shoot more. The gun instructor frowned but then clicked the button to call the target and looked at Wuxing surprised. Only one bullet hit the head while the other four where scattered on four limbs, hitting hands and feet perfectly in the center.

The instructor knew how much precision one needed to hit targets separated from each other this far while constantly shooting.

"Congratulations, you are a great shooter. Are you fine with other weapons too or just the pistol?" The instructor asked as he placed a check-mark on his list.

"I'm skilled with all kinds of weapons. Assault-rifles, machine-guns, snipers, knives, swords. Pick anything, I know it," Wuxing said boldly, his expression calm as if it was nothing.

They could talk with each other despite the noise as there was a voice amplifier build into the sound concealing headphones.

General Clark glanced at Katherine wanting her to confirm it and she only smiled, shrugging. "I always pick best of the best," she explained humbly.

"Alright, you can join the selection tomorrow," General Clark decided, speaking ahead of the gun instructor and the one nodded, signing the paper before giving it to Wuxing.

"Thank you," Wuxing smiled and turned around to Dongmei. "Your turn, go crush it."

"Hehe, sure," Dongmei giggled and walked up to the weapon stand. Instead of a gun, she went for a classic m4a4. She prepared it, checking out the weight and the magazine while the gun instructor set up the new target.

"Shoot when you are ready," he said and stood to the side but Dongmei didn't need the command, already prepared to pull the trigger. She aimed at the target while standing and fired.

Ratatatatata!

She didn't move her weapon and simple fired in the direction of the target. A spray of bullets hit the target, the recoil forming them in a straight line upwards. She glanced at the target and looked lost in thought for a moment.

"Is there something wrong?" The gun instructor asked, expecting much more than this after seeing the first performance.

"Oh, no, I was just checking the recoil," Dongmei smiled cheekily, shaking her head and aimed once again, spraying another two series of bullets going full automatic.

Similarly, she put down his rifle as if she was done and stepped back, awaiting the verdict. Usually it was the gun instructor who would tell to stop shooting and this was the second time the recruit didn't act according to the well known rules.

Knowing they came with General Crimson Devil, he didn't say anything, simply pulling the target back to them.

Everyone gasped when they saw a simple heart formed by the holes after bullets. It was right in the middle of the chest.

"It's for you, hehe," Dongmei said as she sent a flying kiss to Wuxing who in return caught it and placed it on his lips. Anyone could figure out from this exchange that they were together.

General Clark observed Dongmei and couldn't help but repeat previous question. "Where did you find them?" he asked, being truthfully surprised he never heard about the,. It wasn't often that real skilled recruits would join Seven Stars. Usually skilled people were scouted before they could become this good.

Katherine answer to his question so she shrugged once again. "What can I say? I have a good nose. I can smell talent from a kilometer," She said humbly, covering for Wuxing.

Seeing she kept quiet, he only waved with her hand and didn't bother asking anymore. "Okay, okay, you don't need to say."

Instead, he turned to Dongmei and asked, "Can I ask for your name Milady? I forgot to check during the registry." General Clark knew a lot of people and wondered if was a child of any of his old friends.

As it wasn't a secret for her, Dongmei nodded her head and admitted, "Instructor, my name is Guan Dongmei, the only daughter of Guan Dong."

Both the gun instructor as well General Clark froze, not knowing what to say. There was only one Guan Family and no one else dared to name themselves as such.

"That Guan Dong…?" General Clark asked politely to confirm. He didn't want to be rude in case she was the one he thought she was.

Dongmei sighed in response and expressed her wish, "Instructor, I don't want to use my father influence to join Seven Stars and instead my own strengths."

Walking up to Wuxing, she hugged him and added, "I want to join my fiancee in this journey but we don't need any preferential treatment."

"Miss Guan…" General Clark started cautiously. "I understand your wish but anyone who learns the truth won't be able to treat Miss correctly. It's unavoidable."

"Then let's keep it a secret," Dongmei quickly proposed. "If we joined the Seven Stars with connections, everyone would look down on us which is not what we want."

General Clark finally understood and agreed with a nod. "Miss Guan, how about we just delete your last name from the files or change your name to a nickname? This way we would avoid any issues," General Clark proposed.

"I'm fine with just Dongmei," Dongmei didn't mind the change, knowing that Wuxing called himself Chameleon on the papers.

"Alright, I will settle everything," General Clark said while smiling and called out to the gun instructor who was standing on attendance. "I think there is no need to continue with this examination."

Just as he said it, a quiet voice called out from the side, tugging on Wuxing's shirt. "What about me…?" No one paid attention to Scarlet as if her presence disappeared so she had to remind herself to everyone.

She still thought she had to take some kind of test but General Clark glanced in her direction and assured, "Don't worry Miss, you passed too. I'm sure that you are also as skilled as your friends."

He didn't even think she wouldn't be, knowing who their friends were.

"Oh, okay. I'm fine with it," Scarlet accepted her fate, not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

General Clark turned out to be very effective, processing all of their passes within fifteen minutes. He didn't have to do it but he treated it as a greeting gift to Dongmei.

Many wondered why General Clark was acting like this, especially high ranked officials, but seeing Katherine, they gave up their investigation, thinking it was for her.

As they walked back to their limousine, Anna couldn't help but ask Dongmei, "Does your family have connections in Seven Stars? The general was jumping around us like an assistant the moment he heard your name."

There was a saying, keep your friends close but enemies closer, and Anna definitely stuck by this rule. Even though Dongmei wasn't really her enemy but rather an opponent, same rules applied.

"Well…" Dongmei hesitated as they all entered the car and exposed only the minimum. "You should know how influential my family in public. We indeed have some connections with the boss of Seven Stars yet I don't know the details."

"Maybe Katherine knows more. I heard that most Generals have some knowledge about it," Dongmei proposed, looking at Katherine and everyone turned in Katherine's directions.

She shrugged, having no choice but to talk.

"I indeed know something…"
