"This necklace is the treasure? What the heck? Isn't the dagger much more valuable than this necklace?"

"So judgemental! Don't judge it yet without knowing it's power. Try wearing it before you judge it's quality."

I nodded and put the necklace to my neck as per instructions of the seed. As soon as I wear the necklace, I feel a burning power in my body. It was like I am going to burst out in flames if I never let it out of my body. But since I am familiar with the flames, I have no problem letting the power of the flames out of my body. I channeled the hot sensation in my body straight to my hands. Since I have almost mastered the magic of flames, it didn't take me too much effort.

Flames burst out of my hands. What made me surprised is the color of the flames. It's not the normal red or the normal blue I usually use. It is still red in color, but it has a darker shade and it is also hotter. I can feel the heat of the flames which I usually don't feel whenever I use my skills, it is a bit weaker than the blue flames though. But I think something is quite strange... my mana seems to be not draining at all. A single fire casting like this is enough to drain at least 1/4 of my mana.

"How did I manage to do something like this without using mana? Isn't magic revolves in mana?"

"Not all the time, Kid. Due to the help you got from the Necklace of Flame, the flames no longer needed mana to be used whenever you use flames. Though other magic like the Earthshaker and Torrent Bullet needs your own mana to use."

"This thing is called the Necklace of Flames? This is something associated with flames? And all flame attacks I use would be something that would require no mana now?"

"Yep, you got it right, kid. Also, this necklace does give you additional power, every day, this necklace gives you benefits, of course, not only you but also me. That is why I am so adamant that you get this treasure out."

I looked at the necklace with hesitance. This relic is strong enough that I doubt I can freely use it without any risk. But since this would be beneficial to me, I should keep it with me then.

After that, I pull out the skeleton from the pile of books and put it on the open ground without any books. I muttered a silent prayer first before I cast a flame in my hands and shoot it out on the skeleton. I didn't bother to get the robe that the skeleton is wearing. It's not my item anyway and at least, I can send the poor guy with something in his life.

But what made me furrow my eyebrows is that the robe did not even catch in flames. The skeleton has been reduced to ashes already but the robe did not even look like it is burning, instead, the robe maintained to be the same without any sign that it will get reduced to ashes anytime soon. After a few minutes, the flames already died out but the robe is still intact.

"The heck? This robe is not burning!" I picked the robe and inspected it for any kind of burn marks but it was not present which means that the flames can't burn this robe at all.

"It's a fire-resistant robe I see. It's not actually something rare but with your current clothes, that would be useful for you against flame users."

I looked at this robe and smell it a bit if it smelled like a dead person, but thank goodness, it wasn't one.

"Can I bring it with me?"

"Finders keepers they say, so go ahead."

I hesitated before I decided to just keep it. No harm done. But now what? These arcane books are somewhat looking important. I even think that these books have a hidden grimoire or something in here. Before I can think up of a way to store these books, I heard a voice outside.

"Kazuma? Kazuma? Are you here?"

"I traced his presence in this area and I doubt he is not here."

That was Catmod's and Miya's voice.

"I am here guys. Just push the wall over."

The wall was easily pushed by Catmod. Miya also followed suit and was amazed at the amount of books in this area.

"What is this place?" Catmod asked and pull out a random book on the stack near him and read it.

"How did you find this place Kazuma?"

"Uh...well, that was accidental. I was leaning on this wall when it moved. That is when I noticed it."

Miya then noticed the robe and the necklace on my body.

"You find something in here?"

"Yeah. It is somewhat related to the original owner of this place. However, the original owner is already dead so I doubt he will be angry at me. I already burned his body after I found him murdered in here."

"The owner of this place is murdered?"

"I found some traces of him being killed so I don't doubt he committed suicide. He must have been killed by a magician too."

Catmod glanced at me and approached while carrying the book still open.

"Looks like your assumption is correct Kazuma. Most of the content of the books are all something that destroys common sense in magic. However, it was actually something I found interesting. From the looks of it, the person who was killed lived during the time where the magicians are still researching on how to improve magic and magicians who just wanted to rely on the magic they learned."

"Something like that happened? Magicians also had conflicts in beliefs too?"

"Of course, it's not just the government but Magicians had clashed against each other in beliefs. And from the looks of it, this person is a grimoire maker. He managed to create a grimoire by compiling many knowledge that doesn't make sense from people who only view magic as something normal and cannot be remodeled or something like that. Unfortunately, people like him would be doomed to die since the belief in the latter is much bigger. He would never escape death."
