I decided to visit the library, I want to read books about ogres.
But as soon as I entered the room, Spade was inside.
I ignored his presence and walked towards the section about magical monsters.
I was about to get a book when someone suddenly grabbed my hand. I turned my head only to see Spade looking at me with cold eyes.
"You are not allowed to be in this room."
"I will only get some books to read." I said with a frown. I don't plan in reading the books here since this is where the dark miasma would come from every night.
"Any books inside this library can be a cursed object."
"Oh? Then why are you touching one earlier?" I raised an eyebrow. If he touched one, he would be cursed too.
"I have an affinity to light."
I slapped his hand away.
I wanted to tell him that I also have one but I realized that it is not the best thing to tell him. Besides, my light magic is too weak right now.
I wanted to train my affinity for light but I can't since I need to have a teacher who would help me teach how to control light magic.
"Are you able to tell if an object is cursed when you touch it?" I asked as I crossed my arms.
He seems to get what I was thinking when he took the book that I was about to get. He didn't said anything to me but after touching the book, he gave it to me.
I smiled and took it from him. "This too."
I pointed towards another book.
I saw the slight reaction his face made, he sure was not delighted about being ordered around.
He didn't moved, he was staring at me with his cold eyes.
"Do you prefer it if I get it myself?"
He didn't said anything, he unwillingly took the book from the shelve and gave it to me after making sure it wasn't a cursed object.
I smirked. "Follow me. I still have two more books I want."
I passed by him and moved to another section. I pointed at the books I wanted and he gave it to me.
"Thank you, if you'll excuse me, I will take my leave now."
"The books you took.. it's all about monsters." he finally spoke.
"Yes, I know, so what?"
Oops, that sounded rude. But who cares, I am in a hurry to read these books. I want to learn more about Luke's clan.
The way he looked at me made me feel shivers run down my spines. He looked like a predator right now.
He took a step towards me and I instinctively took a step back. "W.. what?"
He didn't said a thing like he usually does when I ask him. I ended up being cornered against the book shelf.
"Your shoulder."
My guards instantly went up.
"I have always wondered.. Why is your left shoulder being surrounded by a small dark miasma?"
Uh-oh.. this is the part where Luke would bite me.. Can he see something from it?
Why can't I see a thing even though I'm a light user? If I knew, I could have done something to clean it.
He removed the glove from his right hand and placed his hand on my shoulder.
I instantly feel a burning sensation when I saw a light appeared.
It was painful!
I held his wrist and glared at him. "What are you doing?!"
"Cleanse." I heard him whisper a spell.
That's when I noticed a small dark cloud on my shoulder. Is this the dark miasma he was talking about.
He continued mumbling some spells when he noticed that the dark miasma won't leave my shoulder.
I was surprised when he suddenly pulled his hand away as if he was stung by it.
"This is not the same miasma from this library.. Where did you get this?" His cold voice makes me want to submit to him but na-uh, I won't do that even if I like him.
I have to keep Luke's secret even if it cost me my life.
I lowered my head and hugged the books to my chest. "I was bitten by a black cat when I visited the barn back then."
"Tell me the truth."
He can see through my lies?
I raised my head and looked at him straight in his eyes. His eyes were making my heart race, I feel like it was impossible to lie to him since he would be able to read through me.
"It's true." I still continued lying tho. I stood there, trying not to be wavered by his look.
One thing that's in my advantage is I can lie without blinking whenever I am in a serious situation.
"The black cat was bigger than any normal cat. I thought it was a cat with a breed."
The glare in his eyes didn't left, he can see through my lies, that's for sure. But I will keep on lying no matter what.
We were disturb when we suddenly heard a laugh of a woman inside the library.
I can see how the library was being filled by the dark miasma.
The evil laugh was becoming louder.. that's when it hit me.. I was the one laughing.
"My oh my, what a handsome young man you are, Duke Bloodwort."
The books that I was carrying fell on the ground. "But you are not as handsome as my fiance. Why don't you be so kind enough and bring my prince here?"
I can tell that the real Violet was in control again.
But this time, I feel something weird, my surroundings started becoming dark.

"Help.. please.. help me.." I cried. "I don't want to hurt anyone.." Why am I saying this?
It was so dark, I was hugging my knees and I can smell the smoke from my surroundings.
I can only hear my sobs in this dark and cold place.
A screen appeared in front of me.. Fire.. the whole library was burning.
"How dare you touch me?!" I heard a woman's angry voice from the screen.
I can see how a beautiful man was cornering me and behind him, the servants with water magic was trying to extinguish the fire.
What's happening?
I looked at my hands, they were burned. Why was it burned?
The place I was in started to become brighter. There was a light growing and it was too painful for my eyes.

Upon opening my eyes, I found myself inside my room, my body was badly aching. It's so painful.. What happened?
I couldn't remember anything. The last thing I remember was when Violet took control of my body and my conscious left.
I turned my head only to see my father's worried face. Behind him, Alyn and Spade was standing.
"How are you you feeling, sweetheart?" My gentle father asked as he stroked my head.
"Tired.." I said softly.
I felt my tears roll down my cheeks. "Daddy.. my body.. it's in so much pain.."
I can't even move my arms or legs.
An unfamiliar old man was beside my father, "The burns in her body is serious. I advice you to give her a sleeping potion. Her waking up right now would make her feel the intense pain in her body."
"Can't the healing potions help?" I heard Alyn's voice.
"I have used a high level potion for her, your highness. But her wounds are not ordinary, her fire magic went out of control after she was possessed by the evil spirit. I'm afraid it will leave scars once it completely heal."
If only I can heal myself.. But I can't even move my hands.. I guess I have to wait until my wounds become better.
"There's a wandering healer in town. A girl named Zhou Yiren. We can ask her help." The doctor suggested.
I wanted to laugh at what he said. Oh please, I am Zhou Yiren, you won't be able to find her.
"I will go send my men to look for her." Alyn said. "Duke Trancy, Spade. I will leave my fiance in your hands. Please take care of her."
"I will even if you won't say that. Brielle is my daughter."
"I will ask my father to give you a month off."
"Thank you, I'm grateful for your kindness, your highness."
Alyn approached me and I saw how worried he was as he stared down on me.
My father moved away and allowed Alyn to sit beside my lying body. He bent down and kissed my forehead. "I will do my best to solve this problem. I will find that healer for you, so wait for a bit more, okay?"
"Okay.." I closed my eyes.
Alyn was still a good person, I can't say something to annoy him right now.
"Should I give her the sleeping potion?"
"How long will she sleep?" I heard my father's voice.
Before the doctor can answer, I opened my mouth. "No.. I can handle the pain. I don't need a sleeping potion."
Once I can start moving my hands, I can heal myself and it won't be a problem. It is only a matter of weeks before I can move my hands.
