Chapter 33






Early that morning, I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, I was in the mood to prepare one.

"Young miss, please let me do it, if the master learned about this, I don't know what he'll do." The chef said with a worried face.

"Don't worry, daddy won't do anything, let me prepare breakfast, okay? Hm.. You can help me prepare just follow my instructions."

This is my first time cooking here despite my Cooking skills being in A rank, this skill was something from my previous life.

I ordered Hannah to get all the ingredients I want and after that I started cooking. I decided to bake some cupcakes too since later, I plan on visiting Evelyn.

Creame cheese and chive omelette, mango milkshake, blueberry pancakes, marmalade french toast sandwich and chocolate cupcakes, these were the breakfast dish I plan on preparing.

I used my fire magic to control the fire at will. I was helped by the chef in preparing all of this since I want everyone to have a taste of my cooking, every servant is a family in this house but making a big amount of these dishes wasn't easy but thanks to Chef Cloud's expert skills and the other servants' help, I was able to make enough for everyone.

"I will leave the rest to you, sir Cloud." I smiled at him.

"To be able to have a taste of young miss's recipe is such an honor for us."

I chuckled before I turned to the Fin, Hannah, Glen, Alfred and Sebastian, "Lets go. I bet daddy and the others are waiting."

I led them to the dinning hall as they brought the food.

"Good morning daddy, brother, Duke Spade." I greeted them upon entering.

My father smiled brightly at me. "Good morning Brielle, I heard something from the servants this morning."

I went and sat down on the seat beside Spade. "Daddy is amazing, nothing escape your ears."

The food was placed on the table by the servants that followed me earlier.

"I hope you'll enjoy our breakfast today, I prepared them all for you."

"You made all of this?" Luke asked.

I looked at him, "I just said that I did, right?" I huffed.

"I'm just surprised okay? When did you learn how to cook?"

I held Spade's arm and smiled at Luke. "Ever since I was engaged to Duke Spade. You see, I wanted to be the perfect wife for him since I heard that he likes women who can cook."

"I do?" Spade whispered.

I turned and looked at him, "I heard some rumors.." I lied.

Seeing through my lie, a small smirk appeared on his lips. "I do love food prepared by the woman I care."

I inwardly gave a sigh in relief, it's a good thing Spade didn't exposed my lie.

"You shouldn't be lying this early in the morning, sister."

I turned to Luke and saw his annoying smile.

I frowned. What now? Did he gained an ability from Spade? Can he see through my lies now? "I wasn't lying."

"Whatever you say~" He snickered, the way he looked said it, he didn't believe me.

"Now, now, children, calm down. Lets enjoy our meal, okay?"

I sticked out my tongue to Luke before I faced my food and started eating.

"These food are beyond my expectations, they are really delicious!" My father complemented me with a bright smile.

Why of course~ Whenever my parents comes home or visit me, I would cook for them and hearing complements from them warms my heart, it was the same thing when Charles complemented me. Hearing a complement from a parent is really something else.

"Thank you, daddy."

"You should cook more, Vivi." Luke said with a grin. "I can help you cook food for lunch."

I shook my head. "I'm planning to spend my day with Evy so I won't be here for lunch."

Spade placed his hand on mine and gave it a squeeze. I turned my head and looked at him, I smiled. "I'll be back before dinner. I'll prepare the food for dinner, do you want to help me?"

He gave me a nod, "Okay."

"I want to join."

Spade turned to Luke and they stared at each other for a long time as the atmosphere around us started to become gloomy.

I sighed at this and turned to my father who was enjoying the food.

Oh dear, men are pain in the ass.

I took the basket filled with cupcakes and some sandwiches before I headed out of the mansion.

"Violet."

I turned and saw Spade walking towards me, "We will start our lessons tonight."

I blinked a few times and I suddenly remembered that I asked him to be my light magic teacher.

I nodded and smiled. "Okay, I can't wait to get back~"

He stopped in front of me and bent down to kiss my forehead. "Take care on your way."

I felt my face heat up. Spade acting this sweet is making me blush!

I nodded at him, I looked at his close face and tiptoed, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. This is my first time doing this to a man and I feel so embarrassed!

"S-See you later!" I turned and hurriedly went out.

I was glad with my choice, giving Spade a chance. This way, my mind and heart won't be bothered by Luke anymore and I can see him as a brother again.

I entered the carriage with Hannah.

"Your face is red, young miss. Did something good happened?"

I would really appreciate it if Hannah didn't pointed it out but since she's my personal maid and my friend, I want to open up with her like how I open up with Evelyn.

"I.. kissed Duke Spade.." I said shyly as I lowered my head.

"My~ how bold of you, miss." She chuckled. "You really like him a lot, don't you?"

I nodded. I like Spade.. Yes, this is good, right? Since he was supposed to be the guy I like. He is my number one favorite character in this game.

"I'm happy that miss has found a nice and kind guy like Duke Spade."

I looked at her and saw her beautiful smile. "Thank you, Hannah.. I also think that he's kind.."

On our way to the town where Evelyn was, I thought that it was going to be a safe journey since the town was just nearby from the Trancy's land.

"GROOWWLL!!!"

The carriage suddenly came to a stop as the carriage's roof disappeared, revealing a huge Sabertooth cat.

"What is a Saber doing here?!"

A Saber-Tooth are most known for having maxillary canines which extended down from the mouth even when the mouth was closed. Saber-toothed cats were generally more robust than today's cats and were quite bear-like in build although in this game, it was bigger than a bear! It was as big as an elephant!

Seeing Hannah and I inside the carriage, I could see the killing intent in its eyes that's why I threw a fire ball to it and grabbed Hannah's hand as we jumped out of the carriage.

I saw that we were just near the town's gate and this is not good!

"Hannah go warn the townsmen! I will distract this monster!"

"But young miss--

"Just do what I say and call help! I won't die easily, don't worry!"

The Saber growled angrily at me since I attacked him with a fireball earlier, although he was able to avoid it.

I saw the horror on Hannah's face but she instantly followed my orders, the sooner she gets help the better.

Seeing that the Saber was about to follow Hannah, I attacked it with another fireball which hit him this time.

"Yes you! I'm your opponent!"

I torn my dress off and was ready to run as soon as I caught it's attention.

Judging from the look of it, this Saber should be a Disaster level monster, right? Disaster level monster.. making him like a B+ magician, this is not good!

What is a monster like him doing here anyway? This is a safe place and monster like him doesn't really show up here unless they are in the deepest part of the Hallow forest!

As the Saber growled, long and sharp looking ice shards appeared above him and it was aiming at me!

I can feel my legs shaking, I am not good with offense since I am a healer! My specialty is healing okay?!

But seeing that he can use ice means that he can use water and wind magic!

Ack! Time to escape! But first let me avoid his attacks!

"Earth wall! Firewall!"

Fire defeats ice so I instantly made a wall of fire before making another wall of earth, just to make sure that I safely blocked it and it won't pass through the fire wall.

And just like what I expected, when the sharp ice shards were aimed at me, they were blocked by my firewall and earth wall.

I can hear the angry growl coming from the other side. Uh-oh! Time to run!

I instantly took the chance to run in the forest!

As I run, I heard heavy footsteps from behind.

Don't look back! Don't look back!.. Okay, let me look just to see if the Saber was following me..

I turned my head and the Saber was indeed following me after it went around my fire and earth wall!

The Saber was quickly catching up to me that's why I need to think and run as fast as I can!

Think! Think! THINK! ---AH!

I stopped and faced the Saber, I bent down and touched the ground and shouted a spell. "Sandstorm!"

Just like what I expected, thick sand started rushing towards the Saber.

I turned and run again. "Branch manipulation!"

A thick branch of a tree bent down and I climb up of it before it started to increase in length, helping me create a great distance from the Saber.

I shouldn't have left my home! Why is my luck so bad right now?!

I turned and saw that the Saber wasn't following me anymore, I called off the spell and went down my ride. As soon as I did, the long branch started retracting, returning to whatever tree it belonged.

Since the Saber followed me in the forest, he should be away from the town now, right? It should be okay for the townsmen.

Okay. I've escaped death and I saved the town, hitting two birds in one stone.. so where am I right now?

"Man, killing a bunch goblins are so easy! I didn't expect that we could earn a lot just by saving some girls from them!"

"Lets go back to the guild house and take on a harder mission."

"Brother, killing goblins are hard! They were scary! How can you say that it was easy?!"

I followed the voices and hid in a nearby tree, I peeked and saw two men and a girl in between.

The guy on the right has unruly, orange hair and brown eyes. He has relatively thin build and short stature, he looks like a 11 years old boy. He was not handsome but he was rather cute, although what caught my attention was the huge sword he has behind him.

The girl in the middle was smaller than the first guy that I described, she also has the same orange hair, she looked similar to the guy I first mentioned. Are they siblings? She has two swords resting on her waist.

The guy on the right was tall and has an impressively sharp glare. He is of a muscular build. I can feel his intimidating aura from where I stand. His black hair is cropped short, with a fringe that hangs just above his black eyes. The bow and the arrow container was hanging on his back. This guy was handsome and his skin was so white, like snow. His ears.. they were long and sharp... wait a minute.. long ears, sharp eyes and pale skin? Could he be.. an ELF?!

Seeing them made me think of one word.. Adventurers.
