Yiren's surrounding became dark, Luke vanished from her hold and Michael disappeared from her side.
She heard a beeping sound of a heart rate monitor. Wait... a heart rate monitor (HRM)?
"Sir, it's time. Her parents gave us the permission to pull out the plug." A male voice said.
"Okay." A familiar voice said.
The room became quiet and she heard the door open, as she heard it, she started hearing a sobbing voice of a woman.
The man in white coat reached out and pulled the plug. With this, the machine will not support her life anymore.
Everyone in the room waited for the sound of one long beep but that didn't happen. They continued hearing the beeping from the HRM. The lines on the monitor continued going up and down.
"W-What is this?"
Yiren slowly opened her eyes and found herself in a white room that was filled with machines.
When everyone saw Yiren open her eyes, they couldn't believe it. They pinched themselves to see if it was all real and when they felt the pain, they were all amazed. A miracle just happened!
"Yiren!" A woman with a few wrinkles on her face rushed to Yiren and hugged her. "You're awake! You're awake!"
Zhou Liwei couldn't help but join the hug. He really thought that he will lose her, he gave up all hope when he learned that Yiren had a brain death.
Yiren burst out crying as she realized that she was finally back in her real world.
Yun Shen was still staring at her with a dumbfounded look on his face. He couldn't believe that Yiren woke up. He wanted to go to her and hold her to check if she was real but since he was in a wheeled chair, he could only watch the family of three from his seat.
Jiang Yingyue kissed her daughter's forehead before she leaned back and touched her cheek gently. "How are you feeling, sweetie? Do you feel any pain somewhere? Is your head aching? Do you know who I am?"
Yiren couldn't help but smile at her mom's questions. "I am fine... and of course I still remember you mom..." She hugged her once again.
That moment was interrupted when they heard a loud growl coming from Yiren.
Zhou Liwei chuckled when he heard his daughter's stomach trying to speak to them. "You must be hungry. I will go buy you some food." He patted her head before he left the room and when he did, he ended up crying. He's daughter was really alive.
"Just to make sure that nothing is wrong, I suggest for her to have an additional tests." The doctor finally opened his mouth.
Yiren was about to look at the doctor but instead, her eyes fell down on Yun Shen.
In an instant, she went out of the bed and run to him. "Luke!"
Yun Shen was confused when he heard her say a foreign name.
Yiren's face was wet with tears as she hugged him close. "I-I thought you were dead... I-I thought that you have left me...'
Did she had a horrible dream while she was unconscious? Yun Shen wrapped his arms around her. "Why would I leave you? I don't easily die you know. You just had a nightmare, Yiren." He said with a gentle tone as he started stroking her head.
Jiang Yingyue knew that Yun Shen and her daughter was close but seeing them like this made her think that maybe their relationship was more than friends?
She cried in his arms. She was so happy to see him alive, that was until Yiren realized something when she finally calmed down. If she was back to her world then... Luke and the other game characters shouldn't be here.
Yiren quickly pulled away from the hug and looked at Yun Shen's face. Some of his features were similar to Luke- no, he actually resembled Luke except for his hazel eyes.
She just realized that Luke actually has a touch of Asian in his features but what made him look foreign was his blue eyes that would turn to red in his ogre form.
Yiren became disappointed when she realized that the man in front of him was not Luke. The happiness she felt earlier was replaced by pain.
Seeing the change in her face made Yun Shen wondered. What is she thinking right now?
"I-I'm sorry..." She stood straight and lowered her head before she went back to her bed. She hugged her mother who was sitting on the bedside, she embraced her and started crying.
Jiang Yingyue thought that Yiren has probably missed them that's why she comforted her in her arms and let her cry out.
Yiren felt so hurt as she remembered that Luke died. She cried and cried until she fainted in her mother's arms.

"Your parents are talking with the doctor right now." He said as he held her hand. "Are you feeling better?"

"Uncle brought you some food." He pressed a button on his wheeled chair as it started bringing him towards the table.
Yiren noticed this and she was watching him with wide eyes. "Why are you... in a wheeled chair?"
"Oh this?" He chuckled a bit. "I jumped from the second floor and landed on top of a car."
"Huh? Why did you do that?" Yiren asked as she sat up.
Yun Shen didn't answered her at once, he took the box of food before he went back to her. He handed the lunch box to her. "I did that because I wanted to save you."
The chopsticks that Yiren held fell on her blanket as her grip loosened after hearing what he said.
"You saved... me?"
Yun Shen grabbed the chopsticks and gave it back to her. "Yes. You see, your apartment caught fire. It was a good thing that I decided to visit you that day, If I was a second late..." He paused and turned his head to the lunch box. "Anyway, that's all in the past now." He said as he smiled at her, not continuing his earlier statement.
He saved her from the fire? Her eyes landed on his legs. "W-Will you still be able to walk?"
"Yes." He chuckled upon seeing her worried face. "I will be starting my rehabilitation next week."
She sighed in relief. She started to eat as she felt really hungry. She paused after a short while and turned to him, "How long was I unconscious?"
"A year and a half." Yun Shen answered.
