After he had finished dealing with the troublemakers upstairs, Wang Yuvin went down and straight to his newly modified office where he asked Kiang Leilei to wait for him. Honestly, he had not seen what the new office looked like. Now, he can only hope that look of the room will suit Kiang Leilei's taste.
If he remembered correctly, he instructed the manager to make sure that the interior of the room was a combination of both simplicity and elegance. He also told him to put a sleeper sofa beside the ceiling to floor windows. Also, he strictly ordered him not to install any hidden video recorders or camera inside his private room.
Arriving in front of his own private room, Wang Yuvin decided to fix his clothes first before he tapped the key card to open the door. In his excitement, he forgot to knock first thus Kiang Leilei was startled when the door suddenly swung open.
"Oh, it's you! You startled me. I thought it was somebody else." Kiang Leilei said as she placed her hand on top of her chest and let out a sigh of relief.
"I am sorry. I forgot to knock. Did you wait long? How are you feeling right now?" Wang Yuvin then quietly closed the door behind him and slowly approached Kiang Leilei who was seated on a chair opposite the ceiling to floor windows.
"I am feeling better. Thank you for saving me the second time around." Kiang Leilei replied as she tried to avoid eye contact with Wang Yuvin, afraid that she might blush or lose composure when she did so.
Noticing how the woman had evaded his eyes, Wang Yuvin can't help but frown. What's wrong with establishing eye contact when you speak to people? Or maybe she was not just comfortable to look him straight into the eyes.
Sitting on the chair adjacent to where Kiang Leilei was seated, Wang Yuvin spoke about what happened upstairs.
"I really appreciate your bravery earlier. Thank you for trying to help me." Wang Yuvin thanked Kiang Leilei the second time.
"No need to mention it. I was just trying to return the favor. If it wasn't for you, I am probably dead meat by now." There was a slight bitterness in Kiang Leilei's voice.
"Hmm... About that, how did you find out that it was me?" Wang Yuvin asked, he certainly want to know what gave him out for he was sure as hell that he kept his identity well hidden. And he was in doubt that the Inspector sold him out.
"I accidentally saw your profile when I went to the police station to submit my official statement for the case. Actually, I was only able to see your face but I was not able to get hold of your name."
For a moment, Wang Yuvin remained silent. Earlier, during the reveal, he thought that she knew who he was. But luckily it turned out that she only knew what he looked like. Meaning, this Kiang Leilei did not know that he was Wang Yuvin. Should he tell her his identity or should he hide it for a while?
"So, will you please tell me your name?" Kiang Leilei suddenly asked, gathering all her courage to ask for the guy's name.
"If I tell you my name, you have to marry me." Wang Yuvin replied without a batting an eye.
Caught off guard, Kiang Leilei's face became red as a tomato. A proposal all of a sudden? And why does she need to marry him in exchange for his name? He better explain himself well to her.
"Excuse me? Why I should I marry you in exchange for knowing your name?" Kiang Leilei asked shortly after she had recovered from the sweet shock.
"For your protection. Did you know that just by simply getting acquainted with me is enough to get yourself targeted by my enemies?" Wang Yuvin replied without taking his eyes off Kiang Leilei's amused face.
"Yes, and being your wife would kill me nonetheless."
"And why would I allow them to lay a finger on my dear wife?"
Kiang Leilei was caught off guard once more that her face flushed red again. Who would have thought that this guy was such a sweet talker?
"Are you always like this? Do you randomly ask girls to marry you in exchange for your name?" Kiang Leilei still can't believe that the guy who rejected her proposal earlier was now offering her a proposal instead.
"No. I don't randomly talk to girls." Wang Yuvin replied quickly.
"How about you? Do also randomly ask a guy to marry you as a way to return a favor?" Wang Yuvin asked as his eyes took a quick gaze at the papers Kiang Leilei placed on the table.
"No. I only did that because I don't want to remain indebted to you."
Hearing her reply, Wang Yuvin gently nodded his head.
"Anyway, I was just kidding about my offer. Please forget what I said a while ago. With regards to my name, I am not yet sure if I can tell you that."
Kiang Leilei's heart sank. To think that she was actually thinking about accepting the offer which turned out to be only a joke! This guy can really maker her heart race fast and her blood boil!
"That's a relief then. I would not have a hard time turning your offer down. Listen, if you don't want to tell me your name, I am fine with that. But can you at least tell me how can I repay you for saving me that day." Kiang Leilei's reply was full of sarcasm, she did try to hide her disappointment.
"I already told you. A date tonight and your number would be fine."
"Sorry, I am not free tonight. How about tomorrow night?"
"How about lunch today? I will bring you to our house."
Kiang Leilei was a bit confused. He can't tell her his name but wants to invite her to their house for lunch? Or could it be?
