The blasts of fire tore into my armor shields. I sent out a wave a biotic energy to disrupt him and the rest of his mercenaries. It wouldn't last long but give me some breathing room.
Me an a Krogan started bashing each other in hand to hand. Due to my flexibility, I was able to move around easily. Took every chance I had to fire at one of the other mercenaries.
A flicker caught my attention. I also noticed something else with Riku's movements.

"He is our Boss you overgrown lizard!" Riku yelled through gritted teeth.
"Not by himself he won't. Good thing he has backup." A voice came from nowhere that I could see. A few of the mercenaries looked around to try to determine where the voice came from.

"Riku grenade!" I yelled. With some of the mercenaries looking that way, I dropped a flash grenade. I made sure to drop it at the Krogan Warleader feet. I sprinted to Riku with my back turned to her. I directed all my shields to the front of me.
"Get Burned!" Riku threw a fire grenade into the grouping. It landed right where I was previously standing.
The flash grenade went off a little before the fire grenade.
"Thanks to my previous eye upgrades there was only a 2-second delay before they readjusted to normal vision. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when the adjustment finished.
Agria appeared in the fire. At least I think it was her. I only saw a few glimpses of her at first. She was moving stupid fast. In her right hand was a heavy pistol but it had the marks of the Imperial Aquila. Each shot was precise. The shots blasted chunks out of legs or kneecaps. With each flinch or buckle of the legs, the Omni-mace in her left arm and chest with each swing took out a mercenary.

A loud set of rounds went out in succession. A head disappeared with every shot.

She is relatively from the same place as you ok." I answered while pulling the rest of the shards out of the bone. "Sophia, Mia are you both good?"
"Tch, you sure that isn't my replacement," Riku said in a huff. The agitation of her flowed right into me. I felt her tail smack me in the face.

The drone took off to Sophia. Keeping my biotics fully on her while keeping up with her increase healing was a problem. The good news my biotics moved faster than the omni-gel. The new DNA had some boosted results will have to study in depth later.
"Boom." The chasm shook. Pieces started to fall down.
An explosion went off to the side of us. Some voices could be heard from the new tunnel formed. They weren't allies from the sound of the voices. Riku later confirmed it.
"This got worse. You need to get out of here now!" Riku said with a grim look on her face. There was no life in her eyes. She was resolved to die here. She continued to load her guns and fire. Her moments seemed like she was just going through the motions. The biotics flowed off her in a massive drove.
Images of her and others fighting against Sin creatures played in front of me. I shook it off quickly. It took that strand to make me realize I fucked up. She was a ticking time bomb waiting to end, one final ho-rah. Riku was used to these situations. I should have not put her in a predicament like this considering her past. Can't believe I forgot she isn't the same Riku from the game. She is older an went through a whole lot worse.

"Sorry, Riku had to be done. Agria to me now! Mia let's move. Sophia lead the way." I barked out orders as I got uplifting Riku over my shoulder. " Riku this will be a bumpy ride. Lay down cover fire as I mend your leg internally." We took off in a run to the door. "Agria cover the colonist if you can."

The colonist members fired the guns they had hazardly mostly to ward them off I take it. Some of them used the biotic ability lift to help with disorienting the mercenaries. So far they have taken no casualties as I can see.
"Lunabella get us some coordinates out of here. The captain's team has got be fairing better than us." I said as I looked to the drone.
"Head left 80ft then right 310 ft," Lunabella said as the drone went further ahead scanning. "Recommend picking up the pace. There are several shifts in the chasm. Possible cave in suspected.
"You people are gonna have to keep up. We can not slow down." I said as I booked that left.
