To the majority of the coastal residents, the invasion of the sea tribe was more terrifying than a tsunami.
The so-called Sea Tribe was the inhabitants of the sea. They worshiped the Sea Goddess and resented the creatures on the mainland. Their objective was to kill all the creatures on the mainland and turn the mainland into a sea of blood. Their origins were diverse. The two biggest branches were the Fish Orc and the Siren.
The sea creatures had various species. In general, they were divided into two big camps. One camp worshiped the Life Goddess who had died for a long time as a mother. It was managed by the mighty Semi-God creatures in the deep ocean and the open ocean. They claimed to be "the sea citizen", and thought the most important core race was the Fish Orc. Among the race, there were many seniors who had lived from the ancient time until now, and even witnessed many Gods born and die. The predecessor of the "Raging Tide" Sarah Heim and the "Undercurrent" Tim Thrall, a Semi-God powerhouse "Living Tsunami" Sarah Monte was one of them. Moreover, it was one of the creatures that were called "Sea King".
And another branch was of course the so-called "Sea Tribe".
As for the relationship with creatures on the mainland, the sea citizens usually had a neutral or even friendly attitude. This was because their mighty ability gave them the confidence, and also their living habitat was pretty far from the mainland. Both sides didn’t have any conflicts about living space.
Meanwhile, the Sea Tribe was the complete opposite as most of them lived near the coast or in the shallow sea. They fought over the living space with the terrestrial creatures. Both sides had a very big conflict. Moreover, the competency of the majority of them was quite weak. They would be at a disadvantage in a small-scale fight. Therefore, the grudge grew bigger and bigger over time. Finally, they considered all terrestrial creatures their mortal enemy.

At first, the Sea Goddess was a neutral Natural God. However, as she realized the religion of the Sea Tribe was gradually eroded by hatred and the camp was constantly imbalanced, she in the end became an Evil God.
After each period of time, the Sea Goddess would issue an oracle to make the Sea Tribe gather at a part of the coast line and then they would attack the mainland, killing all the terrestrial creatures that got in their way.

This was the invasion of the Sea Tribe.
In the Sea Tribe’s invasion, the struggling and disbanded soldiers were not scary. The scary ones were the elite army led by the powerhouses in the sea. They were not interested in the commoners living in the outskirts, but they liked attacking towns and villages. At each place they occupied, they would gather all the captives, dig a big hole on the ground, squeeze all the blood of the captives into it, and then fill up the hole. Then, based on the merit, they would take turns bathing in it, using this brutal ritual to please the Sea God.
Once they attacked a village, if the villagers couldn’t escape, they would be killed or be turned into the materials for the blood pond. There was no other option.
In the past, the Sea Tribe invaded Garles City more than once. Although they were never really able to break such a big city like Garles City, which the Riley family had put lots of efforts into building, they would bring grave sufferings to the citizen in Garles City every time they came. Hence, many people’s faces changed color as they heard the Sea Tribe coming.
At this moment, a big war was taking place in the city. The father and children who worshiped the Harvest Goddess were fighting against young master Shane, who unknowingly worshiped the Swamp Goddess. Each side led their subordinates to kill each other. The victory of this battle had not been decided yet, but other influences in the city had been drawn into this. How can there be any influence left to support the fight against the invasion of the Sea Tribe?
However, without the Riley family as a core force in the protection team and not having the giant magic formation, which had cost a decent amount of money and effort to make, they only had soldiers and adventurers left to defend Garles Ciy. Only relying on those ordinary soldiers as well as some passionate adventurers, would they be able to resist the invasion of the Sea Tribe?
Lei wasn’t sure about that either. But he felt that he needed to stay and try to fight to buy more time for these refugees.
Liv wanted to stay to fight with Lei, but she was asked to leave.
"You have to protect little Agnes." He said, "Your mother’s ability is not bad, but she doesn’t have enough strength to care for little Agnes. Stelle, Liv is not reliable... Therefore, I can only count on you."
At that time, the young girl wanted to retort back. But Lei’s face became solemn, he glared at her, and used his momentum to block her words.
"Liv, aren’t you a knight? If you are a knight, then implement the order!" He swung his hand up, pointing at the group of people who were fleeing, "As your teacher, I give you this mission: try to maintain the order of this team, so that they can retreat well."
"But. . . I . ."
"There is no ‘but’ in the knight’s dictionary!" Lei shouted loudly, "Frank, Teague, Stelle, everyone supports her, understand?"
Frank immediately answered his obedience to follow the order, took out his sword to prepare to support Liv fighting. Lady Teague was a little surprised. She immediately lowered her head to receive the order. On the other hand, Stelle furrowed her brows, looked very discontented. However, in the end, she didn’t say word of refusal.
Then, the direction of Liv was decided like this. The young girl’s eye sockets reddened as she tried to straighten her mind up, using screams, scolds, fists, punches, using her sword to whip strongly, and trying her best to recover the order of the crowd. She even pulled out her sword to behead a thief who wanted to take advantage of the upheaval to plunder. She swung up her bloody sword like a shepherd watching over the flock of goats, trying to make the refugees listen to her without panic and retreat to the direction that her sword pointed.
"She does quite a good job," Lei put both hands on his chest, revealing a satisfactory smile as he saw this. "I really didn’t think that this little girl would have leadership abilities!"
"If thinking carefully, it seems to be right. Parn the knight is a talent that Highness thinks highly of, is a person who is capable of taking charge of the lord position of his holy land in the mortal world. As his daughter, she has inherited his blood, as well as received his education from a young age, how can she just be a martial art master? Maybe her true talent is not in her swordsmanship, but in her leadership skill..."
After exclaiming, he turned around, taking out his sword.
"This is really not a fight that has many winning possibilities... But it makes everyone’s spirit rise up!"
Far away on the harbor, arriving with the tide were countless fish people, who were waving primitive weapons, emitting strange sounds while advancing. Their lineup was extremely messy, without a clear arrangement. But with their massive number, it was enough to scare a warrior who was trying to block them.
Not to mention, the majority of them were fish priests, fish warriors, fish tribal chiefs who were pretty strong quintessences and were in charge of leading among them. At first glance, the entire team was pretty messy. But if looking closely, one could discover that there were disciplined groups blending in with the great messy army, which was slowly advancing.
"Using mixed fishes to cover an elite army is the strategy fish people normally use." The old officer came over and talked to him, "Thanks for joining us. I didn’t think that an adventurer, who just arrived here, would agree to risk his life to help us."
"Any people who have justice in their hearts wouldn’t turn their back to a massacre which is about to happen right in front of their eyes." Lei answered, "Especially. . .when I wasn’t able to stop another massacre that just happened not too long ago."
The old officer silently observed for a little bit and then asked; "In the square on that side,...what happened?"
"What I can tell you is what I’ve seen and my guess. I couldn’t guarantee whether it is right or not."
"Please go ahead."
"First of all, young master Shane seems to be a believer of the Swamp God. Moreover, his position is very high. I think he might have been chosen to be the representative." Lei said, "Although he looked like he didn’t want it, with his high position, he couldn’t decline the order of the Swamp God."
The old officer opened his eyes and mouth wide. His face looked dazed.
His ‘first’ observation had already left the officer speechless. In his dreams, he wouldn’t think the next successor of the Riley family, who had worshiped the Harvest Goddess for generations, not to mention with a majority of the members of the Riley family holding important positions in the Harvest Goddess’ church, would be chosen by the Swamp God!
This was like the leader of a cat pack turning into a dog, or the daughter of a King turning out to be a man. It was extremely ridiculous!
"After that, during the Exploitation Ceremony, he suddenly rebelled, and summoned the avatar of the Swamp God." Lei said, "Maybe the Swamp God has taken use of the messenger to send his avatar down. No matter how hard I look, that giant sticky mucus monster still doesn’t look a bit like an avatar of a God, it is too devalued."
The old officer gloomily nodded, completely ignoring the disrespect in Lei’s voice.
"Then again after that, Holly was eaten by the mucus monster. After the monster ate her, it launched a large scale attack, which turned all the spectators in the square, who couldn’t escape in time, into mucus. The city lord exploded and wounded Shane heavily. Shane’s body was then possessed by the Swamp God. The city lord couldn’t beat the monster, and burned life to summon the descendant of the Harvest Goddess’ avatar. Holly’s spirit transformed into a creature with divinity, and led the lucky survivors to fight intensely against the mucus monster." Lei tried his best to sum up everything that had happened in the square. "Right now, they are still fighting."
The old officer was silent for a long time, and then sighed deeply.
"I don’t understand." He said.
Lei forced a smile and waved his hand, "I myself don’t even understand what is happening when I have witnessed it with my own eyes."
"But right now, I know what I should do." The old officer shook his head, chased away all the panicking thoughts that appeared when he heard those unexplainable things and then said in a low voice, "No matter what happens in the square, as a coastal defending military officer, my responsibility is only one. That is blocking the invasion of the Sea Tribe to protect Garles City!"
Lei smiled while patting the old man’s shoulder, "You are right...but do you have any good solutions? Our possibility of winning is not high if we keep fighting like this!"
"Solution? It would be strange if I had a solution! To be honest, I don’t find this battle favorable to us!" The old officer, whose hair had gone one-third gray, whispered, "But if there is no solution, we still have to march up! I’ve grown up in Garles city. After all, I am considered a nobleman; I couldn’t turn around to run away in this critical moment, leaving everything to the enemy..."
After saying this, he suddenly raised his bow, installed the arrow, shot the arrow out, and killed a young man in poised clothes on the roadside.
That young man saw him talking with Lei, thought that he wasn’t paying attention and thus wanted to sneak away.
"The first clause in the military regulation of the coastal defending marine of Garles City is that one should kill the one who gets cold feet and flees when the battle begins!"
The words of the old officer in a flash became cold, like the cold north wind in the middle of the winter , making people tremble. "I know among you guys, there are many that are promoted by the elders for fame. I also know that you normally idle about, like to eat but don’t want to work, and deceive others... These things are not important. Right now, the Sea Tribe is invading. In your duty time, why do you come across this kind of thing? It is because it is your fate!"
"Hence, don’t resent me and don’t have any stupid thought like trying to escape! What all of you can do is hold your weapons tight and fight!"
"I don’t want to hear any excuses. I don’t care about those things. I am just responsible for two things----first, risking my life not to let the Sea Tribe advance nor launch a massacre; second, if anyone wants to run away, I’ll kill him!"
He frigidly looked around. Although he was just a military officer with a low rank, his momentum right now made others tremble in fear like they were seeing a giant dragon.
"Right now, get ready to fight!"
