Chapter 22: The spoils

Translator: Sigma  Editor: - -

The Wolf Orc Legion left behind two huge piles of polluted trash. However, the witty young Shaman Palin could get some valuable stuffs from those two piles of trash.

There were two broken Warlock gowns, which needed repairing. When they were done being repaired, they could raise the body temperature of whoever wore it. From this point, we could see that those two Orc Warlocks probably specialized in the “fire” system.

The two broken magic wands didn’t have much value. But the two gems on the tops were still perfect. They were pretty valuable--- in fact, the core value of Range Extended Magic Wand lied in the magic stone inside it. This magic wand itself was just a normal wooden stick. It was not hard to make it anyway.

There was one complete space bag, which was filled with lots of money. It belonged to the second dead Orc Warlock. This guy was one of three Orc Warlock elders, was just a small leader in the thug gang. Except for money, he had more than a hundred gold coins and several valuable gems. The total was approximately up to 2000 gold coins. As for that space bag, even though it didn’t look high-end, its value would be about five or six hundred gold coins.

As for other west and east stuffs, their values were not significant. Palin put all his might into fixing the documents from those two warlocks. But he just found some stuffs that were worth less than two gold coins.

“Stop trying. It’s getting dark!” Seeing that Palin was holding the torch, miserably roaming around the pile disgusting corpses to find valuable items, Gerrard couldn’t stand, loudly started a conversation, “rest early, or else you won’t have strength for tomorrow!”

Palin really respected him. He answered yes right away. He didn’t look quite happy when coming back.

“If they specialize in the “fire” system, they should have at least bring the red crystal refined protection talisman---but I can not find it.” He blamed himself, “My black art magic still lacks a lot. If not, I can definitely distinguish it!”

“Alright, alright, how old are you. Being able to find that many valuable stuff is already very excellent for your age!” Gerrard smilingly comforted him, grabbed one magic gem from the two warlock gowns, “Give me these. After fixing the magic gown, you can wear it. The magic gem can be used to create a magic wand, which can not be wasted.”

“... This is your spoils, I can not take them!” Palin was stunned. He distinctively declined the offer.

Gerrard shrugged, laughed out loud, “Take it as my investment into a future great war art. Wait until you become stronger. You can return and pay me back.”

Palin hesitated for a while before accepting this offering.

In fact, he was clear that even if he grew up being a strong shaman, he was afraid he would not be of much help for “Big Brother White” as “Big Brother White” strength was phenomenal. Perhaps, only if he could break the limit of humans, step into the legendary Immortal realm, he would then probably truly help him.

“Bother White, there is one problem I don’t know whether I should ask you or not...” The old Suo Si came closer. He looked a little hesitant.

“Feel free to ask me. If I can answer, I will definitely answer you.”

After hearing the firm response from Gerrard, Old Suo Si was still hesitant a bit, looked at both sides, lowered his voice then asked, “Have you really stepped into the ‘Legendary Realm’?”

Gerrard was a little stunned. He instinctively shook his head. But he wasn’t sure whether or not his answer was correct. He couldn’t help but fall deep in his thoughts.

What was legendary?

According to Gerrard’s impression, being called legendary meant breaking the human limit, no longer being old or dead, being able to live forever and have unimaginably tremendous strength. His strength could determine the future of a country, even stand in the chessboard of the entire world, have a super strong influence to the prosperity and decline of all the races in the world.

If it is the case, can I myself be counted as a powerhouse?

Being old, worrying about longevity, these problems have soon become nothing to me. In fact, I have already died. This body is just a creation by my Highness, Oscar. Even though this body ages or gets hurt, Highness definitely has an ability to fix it or even rebuild it. From this point figuring out, I indeed have gone beyond aging and death.

I also have a huge strength. At the beginning, I didn’t discover this. But through fighting, I can gradually feel the power of this body. I can run faster than a speeding horse. My strength is huger than a mighty tiger. My flesh is like a sturdy armor, even a powerful magic can only leave a wound on the skin behind... If all of these can not be counted as powerful, then what could be called powerful?

If so, haven’t I already become a legendary powerhouse?

He opened his two bulky and sturdy hands. His palm gave off a surreal and absurd feeling.

Just a few days ago, he was still a wanted escaped criminal, who had fled out of the civilized world to a small desolate and dismal village to live. In fact, he was isolated by the villagers, leading a boring, tasteless, and even distressed life.

A few days later, his appearance was changed from head to toe. He was blessed with a tremendous strength, which he had never thought he would ever have before. He became a subordinate of a great God, a great God’s first believer. His future became promising and indescribably rich and honorable.

After all, all of these are the Highness Oscar’s grace.

After figuring everything out, the giant sighed deeply, beamed a smile. His smile was very carefree, very comfortable, calm and good-natured.

“I don’t know whether or not I can be counted as ‘Legendary’”. He also lowered his voice to answer, “But I believe I have found the right path. As long as I don’t go downward, the Legendary Realm is not beyond my reach either.”

Old Suo Si and Palin both looked at his transformation. His energy at this moment was steady and profound, was as imposing as a towering mountain, forever unchanging. He had never displayed this kind of energy, which could make people happily follow him, before.

Even though he may not be “Legendary”, without a doubt, at this moment, he had officially stepped in the powerhouse world. His spirit had grown as well.

With his innate talent and ability, becoming a legendary powerhouse was just a matter of time.

At night, when going to bed, with a vast knowledge, old Suo Si remembered the calm and carefree look of the giant, he couldn’t help but laugh.

He had witnessed a legendary powerhouse’s “Birth” with his own eyes, which was worthy to boast in front of the younger generation, written as a glorious event in the family history. Being able to become close with a kind legendary powerhouse would definitely bring many advantages to my family.

He laughed out loud, then sighed heavily.

Really envy! It would be great if I also can become a Legendary powerhouse...

But the young Palin couldn’t think that much. He just smiled, silently cheered himself to try hard to soon become an excellent shaman then finally stand in the place with the same height with big brother White.

The ideal’s fire in the heart of this young man had already been ignited. It would become stronger in these later years, turn into a motivation to push him forward. No matter how high he would get in the future, at the end of his life, when he remembered these times, it would be the most touching moment with determination and happiness in his life.

While the old Suo Si and Palin were smiling, the “Bloody Hand” Ruhr was like a beast being trapped in a cage, restlessly going back and forth.

He was not an idiot. He definitely could figure out Gerrard’s strength. Having offended such a powerhouse made him extremely worried. But when he thought of the legendary treasure on this man, greed surged inside his heart again.

The big threat along with an extremely huge benefit were both in front of his eyes, where should he go?

“Old Burke, what should I do?” He asked the second-in-command person in the bandit gang, who was an advisory shaman.

Among the bandit gang, he was the oldest, his experience was the most diverse. The old shaman shook his head. He then remained silent as always, didn’t give him any valuable advice.

This was not out of Ruhr’s expectation. He temporarily wandered around the camp. In a moment, he wanted to retreat, then in another moment, he wanted to risk. He was being in a dilemma.

“Those damned pickpockets! I know they are not that kind-hearted to give me such information!”

He cursed, resented, because right now he was trapped in a dilemma, where there was no room to advance or to retreat.

He had lost two warlocks. Among those two, one was the caster leader, which was a huge loss to the bandit gang. If it was like this, he couldn’t accept this fate. Moreover, the entire gang’s mentality was heavily attacked, his reputation was badly damaged.

But, he wanted to try at least once, try to steal that giant’s treasure... when thinking about that giant, who was as strong as a War God, he couldn’t help but tremble. It was really hard to determine to risk his life.

“If I really order them to fight a life-and-death battle with that giant, I am afraid they would immediately decline and run for life...”

He sighed deeply, found a wooden stump and sat down, rubbed his head, and attentively thought.

Giving up was very unsuitable to do. Risking their lives was impossible, then what should he do, and what would be the best?

He had been thinking for a whole night.

Until now, the “Bloody Hand” Ruhr was alway proud of his ruthless and sensitive heart. He wouldn’t let those smart and aggressive Jianghu’s people in his eyes. But at this moment, he was angry at himself for not being smart enough, not being able to think of a solution that could be best on both sides.

He kept thinking and thinking until the sun rose. He discovered he hadn’t slept at all last night.

Due to the excessive use of his brain, he staggered when standing up, went to a stream nearby to wash his face and freshen up a little bit. Right at this moment, a scout who was in charge of watching the caravan’s activities came back.

“Master, that group of people has departed again. Seems like they are going to the gold rush town.”

“Alright, we’ll be watching them from far away, do not come closer. Wait for the right chance.” Ruhr sent out an order.

This order made his underlings less nervous, the heavy atmosphere had dissipated a little.

Yet when the bandit gang passed the village where the caravan had stationed yesterday, Ruhr suddenly had an idea.

The practicality of this method was not high, but trying it would not cost him any lossess. But if he succeeded, he would probably make a huge fortune!

He called an underling over, secretly told him something. The underling’s face, which was originally blue, turned white. His head was constantly shaking that it almost fell off.

“Just passing an envelope, what are you scared of!”

But his underling still constantly shook his head, he was afraid of losing his life.

After going through some threatening and tempting, this underling accepted the order with a miserable face. He rode the wolf, put on a heroic face, and chased after the caravan.

“Alright, let’s stop.” Ruhr loudly spoke to the underlings, “No need to chase them, if it succeeds, that giant will come back by himself.”

The underlings were immediately frightened. Restlessness and worries were written all over their faces. Seeing them put Ruhr in a Nameless fire. He was furious that he couldn’t kill those stupid and coward punks with one knife and slaughter them all.

After a while, the scout underling went back. Behind him, there was a calm walking giant, who was full of invisible pressure.

“Giant fellow!” Ruhr yelled out loud, “I have some business to discuss with you!”
