Without wasting any time Azreal took out the book but the moment he did so he furrowed his brows.

The book looked a lot larger before, now it just looks like a book after a child ripped out the majority of the pages.

Opening the book

[ Purple Inferno ]

[ Eternal Damnation ]

[ Heaven's Perception ]

Blank

Blank

Blank

"Six pages? What the fuck"

Azreal flipped the book over several times to ensure that he wasn't missing anything, he couldn't remember any of what he saw when he was trapped by Lako and Mako but he knew there was a lot more than six pages.

"Go Back, to [ Heaven's Perception ]"

Darius figure started appearing as he spoke, not questioning it Azreal flipped back to the page

The moment Darius confirmed it he started smiling.

"Heh, the old man must really love you! For him to want to teach you something like this, this is one of the most important things you'll ever learn"

Azreal was shocked when Darius said that so he immediately looked on the page and read the description.

[ Heaven's Perception ]

A domain type skill that allows the user — based on power — to see, hear and smell everything with a certain range.

If used within the area of a stronger [ Heaven's Perception ] the use will go 'blind'

This is a passive skill.

"See what I mean? There is absolutely nothing that can escape your vision"

After reading through Azreal couldn't help but starting to get excited about it, something like this would make him practically invincible.

Sigh

"Too bad you can't learn it"

"Huh, what?" Azreal felt like a bucket of ice cold water was doused on his head.

"It's a passive skill, so no matter what it'll always be active, always feeding off your energy, you're in the nether realm, energy isn't abundant for you by the time you activate this it'd suck you dry within seconds"

Azreal wasn't even sure how to reply, he just looked at the page, then back at Darius.

'Then why the fuck did you build it up like that?'

Taking a deep breath he looked at the book and asked something else.

"Do you have any idea why it might've shrunk?"

Azreal asked while flicking the book around in his hand, this book was the main reason why he never bothered chasing after skill, he had a book full but now what?

Apparently, the book could shrink.

"Hmm, because of the seal you broke, most of the skills in there are probably just death related, now that you broke it it means it isn't 100% certain that you're going down that path but since you can still see [ Eternal Damnation ] you can't be far off"

Darius gave his honest opinion in a nonchalant manner.

Azreal, on the other hand, didn't immediately respond, everything was just getting more and more complicated.

"So I have no choice? Everything's already been decided, like a crappy version of destiny"

Darius shrugged his shoulders before laying on the ground flap, staring up at the ceiling

"Its not like destiny there is no such thing as destiny, you just walk a blank path and the actions you take are what tempers you, so by the time you get to the end of the path whatever is there will seem perfect, whether reward or punishment, you have an infinite amount of choices, for every choice you make you open a bunch of paths while closing dozens more"

Azreal sat in silence and thought it over, it didn't make him feel better but there's always comfort in what's known.

"It's fine, don't feel so down, if you want I'll teach you something"

The moment Azreal heard that he looked up at Darius before speaking with some hesitation.

"What?"

The smile on Darius' face grew as he looked at Azreal.

....

With today being the day he said he was going to leave, Azreal decided to head to the confinement area for Xavious, it was already afternoon so he couldn't put it off for much longer.

"How is he?"

When walking in the guards started looking at him strange so he decided to ask.

"Uhmm…" the guard scratched the back of his head but wasn't sure how to respond, just signaling that he should just go in.

From outside Azreal could hear what he could only assume was singing.

Inside Xavious just sat in a dark corner of the cell singing, sometimes he sounded like he was reflecting other times pleading.

"Behind these prison walls! Doing my paces, doing my time. Spending my restless nights' visioning faces oh they all cry, Crrrrryyyyyyyy prison is not a bed of roses!! I wish the mother would come and take me back in time…..I cause I swear, I can be a better man! If only you could understand! Put some faith in me and set me free! [1]"

Xavious sounded more like he was screaming rather than singing at this point, Azreal thought he was finished and was about to speak up but he was wrong.

"It's impossible to see the changes, that I've made in my life. All they see is just the boy they left behind, please don't judge me wrong cause now I'm strong...I was young and unwise don't you hear my cry! put some faith in me set me fr—"

"Shut the fuck up"

It was hard to listen to him sing and it didn't look like he planned on stopping any time soon.

When Xavious heard his voice he shivered a little, getting up off the ground he patted his clothes acted like nothing happened and walked out of the already opened gate.

"Took you long enough"

"You're lucky I even came back"
