Opening his eyes, Azreal didn't recognize where he was.

Slowly, he tried to get up off the ground but his body felt like it weighed a ton, if he pushed himself any harder he'd probably start coughing up blood.

The ground beneath him felt like it was going through a drought, it's hard and hot, and as far as he could see, there wasn't even the slightest sign of life.

"Wh—ugh"

When he tried to talk, it felt like somebody was constantly stabbing him in the neck with hundreds of needles.

'Where am I?'

In the end, he could only resort to speaking in his mind, it wasn't that he was expecting an answer but sometimes voicing certain thoughts might lead to a realization or at least that's what he hoped for.

'Cold?'

A few moments ago, he'd started feeling cold which, based of how the ground looked, shouldn't be possible.

But it was happening...small snowflakes kept falling in front and around him, forcing his body to move in spite of the pain.

Azreal saw a portal similar to the one he'd been push through, except this one had a golden emerald color to it.

'Did Enron save me again?'

He didn't have any proof but he felt like that wasn't the case. He wasn't sure how he got here but deep down something was telling him that it wasn't Enron.

The chill from the still opened portal was a welcomed relief from the terrible heat. Half of his body felt cool, like he was sitting under a fan, while the other half felt like he was sitting in an oven.

'Move, Move!'

He didn't know where the portal would lead, especially, since he didn't know where he was. But in his mind he felt like the portal would lead to the lower realm, he wasn't even sure where that thought came from but now wasn't the time to question it.

A deep rumbling sound started coming from the sky, the once scorching heat turned cool. And from who knows where, the wind started blowing as the sound of lightning came closer.

Azreal wanted to see what was happening so badly but, the moment he did turned his head the other direction, what he saw stunned him.

There stood a giant emerald green wall that seemed to have no end, whether in terms of length or height.

But that wasn't what left him at a loss for words. He could see hundreds of giant figures, some that were even larger than modern day skyscrapers, all of them, looking directly at him.

Their gazes wasn't one of wonder or anything like that but instead it was greed, it was like they had been starving for who knows how long and now here comes food.

What added to his confusion was the fact that although he couldn't see through the wall, it didn't look all that strong so he didn't understand why they wouldn't just rush out and crush him, not that he was complaining just confused.

His mind was once again forced to return to the Lightning as the sounds kept getting stronger and stronger until….

Boom!!!

"Aghhhhhh!!!!!"

Despite the pain coming from his throat, Azreal screamed like a pig being slaughtered.

The worst part was that he couldn't summon the slightest bit of energy to move and try to protect his body.

It felt like the lightning was breaking him down slowly and in the worst way possible.

But very soon, his voice died down as streams of memories that didn't belong to him flash through his mind.

At first, it was just a trickle of fragmented pieces, parts of their lives, regrets, aspirations etc.

The stream of information wasn't hard for Azreal to handle. But eventually, the scattered information became more compact and instead of just pieces of memories, he was now receiving everything, unknown person's entire life started flashing before his eyes.

Eventually, even pieces of remnant consciousness started to enter his mind.

Standing in a completely white void, Azreal saw hundreds of people standing in front of him.

"What's going on? Who are you people? Why are you in my consciousness", one of the persons asked.

"Your consciousness? Get the fuck outta my mind!"

Eventually, all of them started arguing with each other about who's mind it was, all except one, a man who seemed like he was in his forties stood and watched everything that was playing out.

When his eyes fell on Azreal, a light flashed across his eyes. Walking up to Azreal, he smiled.

"Do you know what's going on?"

Confused, Azreal didn't answer, he was currently in a daze.

Reaching out his hand, the man touch him on his shoulder.

Boom!!

The moment he touched Azreal a huge wave of energy flowed out, knocking down all of the consciousness that were arguing. Right after, hundreds of chains came out of nowhere and suppressed them all.

"Hahahahaha you fools! We're all dead! This isn't any of your consciousness. It's this boys— well no, it my consciousness now! Ahahahaha!!"

At no time did the man let go of Azreal even when the chains surrounded him.

"Hahahahaha. All of you back down, and let this king be!"

Hesitating for a moment, the chains eventually vanished, returning to where they came from.

"Although your body is in a pathetic state and your will is even more so, this king will make do! I shall rise again from the ashes and conquer this world! Hahahahhahahaha! God!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Right after his rant, Azreal's consciousness started shaking.

"What's going on!? Do you think this king will hesitate in erasing his consciousness! Mhmmm!!"

The form of Azreal that he was holding on to was just his will. If he were to destroy it, Azreal's 's body would just move based on instinct, no purpose just doing what's necessary for survival.

Despite everything that was happening, it had only been a second since Azreal was struck by lightning and right now his body, once again, started cracking, exactly like what happened in Gaza.

Boom!

His body disappeared again and so did the lightning and clouds that were in the sky, shortly after, so did the shadows that were behind the giant wall.
