The purple flames danced on Azreal's skin, he didn't dare to release it any further just for show.

Even though the flames didn't stretch out that far the heat could still be felt by those closest to the ring.

It was especially felt by the mantis who had originally planned —upon being called a cockroach— to just fly up and squash Azreal but when it saw the fire it felt fear, how the metal cage that it couldn't break apart despite its strength melted under Azreal's feet as he walked towards it.

Seeing it step back as he came towards it Azreal smile just kept growing.

"Fucking cockroach"

Woooossh

Azreal decided to stop wasting time and activated the first level of bloodlust to its fullest, with instant it appeared in front of the mantis because of the sheer size of its body Azreal wasn't sure where to grab onto so he just aimed for the chest.

Wooossshh

Although Azreal had appeared in front of it in an instant it still had quick enough reaction speed to not let anything that dangerous get too close to it, so before Azreal could attract himself to its body the mantis used one of its front legs to slap him away.

Unfortunately for the mantis the only thing that Azreal felt was the breeze heat of the fire and the flames itself had completely melted its leg causing it to snap in two.

The wind that the front legs brought with it pushed Azreal aside but unfortunately for the mantis the fire on its front leg continued to slowly burn.

Azreal could let nature run its course, after all, once the fire had an energy source it would continue to burn so the mantis who was slowly being eaten by the flames would eventually die but that didn't feel like enough for him so once again he dashed towards it without a second thought.

"Bye Bye"

With a big bright smile on his face Azreal flew right through the mantis' chest, for a moment it kept trying to make sounds or just scream but in the end —as its body twitched uncontrollably—It's fell to the ground with a loud boom.

The moment he went through the crest both the bloodlust and the purple inferno disappeared.

Turn around and looking at the dead bodies or what remained of them Azreal let out a victorious scream.

"Ahhh!!!!"

....

"I—I—I Won!!!!! I mean I didn't mean to bet on the human but yes!!"

"Congratulations! The mother is truly looking out for you!"

"Uhmm hey you, didn't you trade tickets with the guy over there collecting his winner?"

....

All the master looked over at Kaz some feeling pleasure from his demise while others were truly sympathetic.

Three competitions missed to raise a monster that was crushed by a creature no one had any faith it.

Lako and Mako especially had smug smiles on their face as they looked over at Kaz but when the other masters saw them they shot them vicious looks even the ones that were happy about Kaz's lost.

This went on for a little until one of the indifferent masters spoke up shifting the conversation.

"Chidi, that wolf where's it from? For it to win without even having a humanoid form that's next to impossible!"

When Chidi heard this he smiled.

"I know that's why I hadn't brought it along all this time because I couldn't get it to use a humanoid form, I mean just look at it, it just looks like any mut so I decided to use it to train a participant I 'found' but who would've guessed that it would rip it apart hahaha, as for that little fellow down there I 'found' it on my travels"

When the other beast masters heard that he found the wolf some sighed while others nodded in understanding.

They all been doing this for who knows how long and knew that found meant that the poor creature was either blackmailed into doing it or was just being forced to do it.

The arena didn't allow for beastmasters to submit participants who weren't willing but if the participants didn't speak up how would the arena know? Besides over the years the rule stopped meaning anything.

"Didn't anyone notice that fire? I felt a could feel it all the way up here"

"Mhmm I felt the same, but if the human had such a technique why didn't it use it from the beginning? Why use a warbeast technique like bloodlust?"

"It couldn't be trying to provoke us using our technique right?"

All the beastmasters fell silent to contemplate the thought, it wouldn't be the first time some creatures had tried to challenge them by putting on some show in the ring.

"Hey, you two that fire technique that the human used, what is it called?"

When Lako and Mako heard this they fell completely silent, sure they knew Azreal could use the skill but when the rabbit doctor used the small formation to fill Azreal's body with natural energy so it could still operate he told them that Azreal wouldn't be able to use any techniques that he learned previously.

Lako couldn't help picturing himself strangling the little rabbit, making him beg and the more he begged the harder he'd scream.

"It's a technique called [The Burning Devil], a common technique among humans"

Saying they didn't know would only earn them the disdain of the other masters but coming up with some lie no one could expose would make their lives a little bit easier.

"[The Burning Devil]? Seems rather powerful for something common among them"

"Couldn't the same be said for our bloodlust technique?"
