Northern Star Mining Co had done every test they could on the SubNet Tablets, yet they could do nothing to crack the security on the device. As far as their estimation went, there was nobody who could break through the security on the device.

Mr. Black and Mr. Bronson, the two finance ministers placed in charge of the acquisition of these new devices for the systemized transactions of slaves, had their own SubNet Tablet they could send Ivan a mail through, but instead they chose to enter the Celestial Trade sales branch on Kav'sall and contact him through his sales representatives there.

"Mr. Black, Mr. Bronson, I haven't heard from you two in a while, I trust you were more than satisfied with the products?" Ivan said with a smirk in his office where he took the video call.

Mr. Black nodded his head, but Mr. Bronson appeared distracted while looking at the video feed on his end. The saleswoman could see Ivan sitting in his office as per normal, but for three-dimensional beings, Ivan appeared to be sitting in a chair as everything behind and around his was a strange multilayered three-dimensional image, like watching the old red and blue 3D movies without the glasses, only slightly more extreme.

"Indeed, the devices were more than satisfactory, nothing to say the least of our efforts to break through the firewall on the device which were completely useless. From what we have seen, we trust that this device will indeed be untraceable and unhackable. We would like to further negotiate our purchase order for 70,000 such devices."

"Mr. Storme," Mr. Bronson nervously called out, about to ask where he was that the picture was as such, but Mr. Black elbowed him quickly to shut up and not ask such a question.

"I happen to have already prepared a sales contract, I will send it through immediately. Take your time and have a read through."

Ivan also ignored Mr. Bronson's question, as he didn't particularly care to think up an excuse for his location. He manipulated the tablet in front of him and sent through the sales contract prepared nearly a month ago to the tablet they are contacting him through.

"If you need us to print it out, my representatives at the sales branch can do that for you."

The two finance ministers shook their heads and began rapidly reading through the contract.

The terms of the contract were a basic price per tablet in which the large order would be supplied at, the time it will take to deliver that many devices, privileges of Northern Star Mining Co in opening up a store on the SubNet to take over the trades on slaves, the fees of various transactions and future services, and several other miscellaneous terms.

Ivan had given a slightly preferential pricing and transaction fees, but in turn Northern Star Mining Co would be required to act along side Celestial Trade and recommend using SubNet Tablets to any individuals or groups they are making transactions with. They would also have to coordinate with Celestial Trade in the production of official certificates and a database for the owners of slaves.

These certificates would be provided with every transaction made, and would add security to the purchasers. This would encourage more people to purchase slaves, even though it would do nothing if another criminal killed them and then took the slaves.

"Mr. Storme. This is a fair sales contract for both parties, but there is one point I would like to revise. We have always placed a chip into the to of the slaves' spines for forced submission as well as identification of the slave status. What is the need for a new system?"

"Because a chip that enforces someone to follow orders doesn't recognize ownership toward a person. You can simply collect everyone else slaves and steal them before selling them to someone else. Although an identification and submission chip is still a good idea, at least one which works in conjunction to the official certification at least."

"Understood. Mr. Storme, can you please send forward an updated sales contract with all of those details added. As long as everything looks good from our end, we will be ready to agree and follow through with the purchase."

Ivan agreed with a smile and collected their SubNet account before ending the communication. He had already done the bulk of the work on the contract, so editing some smaller sections was very simple to do. He made the adjustments within an hour and sent it off to the recipient.

Mr. Black and Mr. Bronson had already been given authority to make the call on this purchase contract, so half of the money was immediately shifted to the Celestial Trade account.

"President, I heard you haven't eaten yet!" An excited shout came from the doorway as Lanise, the last person Ivan expected, stormed into his office with a tray of several exquisite dishes.

"Lanise?"

Ivan was befuddled, but Iris poked her head over Lanise's shoulder and calmly answered Ivan's confusion.

"I sent a message to the Food Research Subdivision to bring up some food for you and me, this is the result."

Iris truly didn't expect this outcome while Ivan wanted to berate her for he not thinking things through well enough. He couldn't do that at the moment though, so took the food from Lanise while diverting the topic.

"Lanise, I am glad you are here, actually."

"Y-y-you are?" Lanise asked wide-eyed as she pressed up against Ivan, forcing him to sit down on his chair as she climbed on him with her knees.

Ivan was in a predicament this time as he had taken the food from Lanise and was in a bad position to push her back. Iris stepped forth this time and pulled Lanise off him, but her question to Lanise was greatly different from what Ivan had expected.

"Are you trying to make me, the main wife, look bad?"

Iris' tone was slightly chilly, and it looked like Lanise was about to bite back, so Ivan cleared his throat and caught their attention.

"Indeed. Lanise, are you aware that we will soon be sending off some Osiris subspace ships to explore the surface universe around us. We have two goals, first developing our star map with more data on areas outside of Federation control, and also seeking for other human life that hasn't been genetically altered and can be incorporated into Celestials."

Iris had some inkling of this, at it was brought up in the recent board meeting, but Lanise stared back at Ivan in surprise as she never knew about this.

"No matter, it was an executive decision and will be published across the news soon. It is an important task for Celestial Trade, Lanise, and I need someone with a keen judgement as to whether a type of human specie is beneficial to us by becoming a Celestial."

"P-president, such an important task!"

"There will be others to work alongside you on this journey. Your task is to find these human civilizations, study them in secret, and bring back that information, along with whether they deserve to become a Celestial or not."

Lanise looked down nervously as she replied.

"I don't know if I'm the right person, President. All I want is to be able to cook delicious food for you."

"If you can do this for me, I will grant you any one desire as long as it is within my power."

"I will do it!!" Lanise suddenly shouted as she started to blush.

Ivan could already guess what she wanted, but he would make his own plans in regard to that.

"Lanise, the visits to the Vulpes home world begin in a few weeks, do you wish to leave after that holiday?"

"I have no one to return and see, president," Lanise looked sad for the first time ever in Ivan's memory.

"Understood, you will leave in two weeks then. The itinerary will be sent directly to you."

Ivan's conversation with Lanise came to and end and only Iris and himself remained in his office. Ivan turned and looked over the yellow, orange and red canopy of the massive forest around CTHQ.

"Dear, is that a good idea? Sending her to be the evaluator for other races, you know… how she is…"

"It's not a problem as long as her prejudice is directed properly. She holds extremely high regard for the Celestials, so anyone who can pass her assessment will without a doubt be the best of the best. I would argue that this is the most suitable job for her."

"There isn't any other reason?"

Ivan rolled his eyes at Iris' interrogative stare.

"There are many reasons for me choosing her, not any one particular reason. The decision isn't sudden either, I've been thinking about it since the meeting."

Iris questioned Ivan a bit more before returning to her tasks as secretary, her and Ivan's lifestyle was getting busier and busier as of late, leaving little to no time for private affairs. Instead, Iris had to make time during work to secretly be intimate with Ivan.
