On the screen, Thunderspark appeared over the hulking Mecha with a third arm on its back. It listed various details about the Mecha, including the name of the pilot, which was a Spacenet alias and not the pilots real name, along with statistics of the pilot's history. It also included the specifications of the Mecha that the person had built. Lastly, there was a row of images below all of the words that depicted the previous iterations of Mecha the pilot had used in the past.

On the other screen, the Death_Sun_OMEGA was displayed over the strange snake-humanoid Mecha. The same details that were displayed for Thunderspark were also displayed for Death_Sun_OMEGA as well, including the pictures below all of the details.

Once both of them stood an indeterminate distance from each other and waited, the announcer started to go over their introductions. Marissa didn't care to hear them as she already knew them by heart, so she turned her head to Altair instead and asked, "What do you think about their designs?"

Altair blinked before she turned a curious look back at her. She then tilted her head as she didn't understand her question. Altair had no concept of the standard Mecha design or anything knowledge about Mecha in general. As far as she was concerned, the two Mecha that were on the screen were both apples to her instead of exotic fruits.

Marissa's brow rose slightly as she asked, "What do you know about Mecha's? Why don't you tell me everything."

Altair pictured the colossal Mecha she had seen before for the briefest of moments before she tossed the image aside to think more about the ones that guarded the Lothan's mansion instead. She then stated, "They're big," and then she went silent.

After a few moments of silence, Marissa skeptically asked, "Is that it?" She didn't believe that was all Altair knew about Mecha. They were basically synonymous with power in the Empire at this point. Even though Martial Prowess was making a comeback due to the invention of Juggernauts that hunted down expert Mecha pilots, she doubted it would last in the long term.

Altair's only response was a nod. That was all she really knew about them. Everything else was just her imagination and couldn't be taken as actual knowledge.

Marissa struggled to contain her laughter as she looked at the camera and gave the audience a knowing smile. She was sure that the people who were paying attention to them instead of the introductory broadcast on the side probably couldn't contain their laughter either.

Finding someone who didn't know anything about Mecha but still cosplayed was like finding a fortune hiding under your bed. Nobody thought it was possible until someone actually found it.

Even though Marissa knew that Altair wasn't cosplaying, she still didn't expect the girl to now know about Mecha even with her background. In her mind, it was impossible to not know anything about them. She found Altair to be just too precious of an existence. It was like she barely knew anything about the real world.

She patted Altair's head fondly for a moment before she grinned and said, "Well, you are in for a treat indeed. I hope that watching this upcoming battle will show you a new world. It sure showed me a lot when I first watched one." She then turned her attention back to the screen.

Altair didn't know what to expect as she watched the Holodisplay. The introductions for both sides had just finished and a countdown had started on the screen at some point. As the large red number reached zero, both Mecha's immediately took off towards one another.

Altair couldn't feel anything different where she was, but she saw the camera shake slightly with each step she took. This gave her the impression that the two Mecha she was watching were excessively large. It was like each of their steps was causing a mini-earthquake in her mind with each step. She even began imagining feeling the quakes as she thought that the battle was nearby.

The bulky Mecha pulled out two plasma swords at once. They lit up at the same time to reveal an intense red beam of energy that formed the swords proper. Its third arm pulled out a small handgun and aimed it at the snake. As soon as it was done aiming it opened fire immediately with it.

Death_Sun_OMEGA quickly swerved to avoid the large blue blasts from the handgun that Thunderspark had pulled. It's hands then pulled out two similar guns that were slightly longer and larger than the one that Thunderspark had pulled out. Once it started to fire its own weapons it quickly started to maneuver around Thunderspark while keeping a minimum and maximum distance between the two. It's guns were firing far faster than the handgun that Thunderspark was using and soon the entire field around Thunderspark was littered with holes.

A barrier flashed dozens of times briefly on Death_Sun_OMEGA whenever the blue beams came close to it. Its color was flashing a bright white that caused Altair's brows to furrow when she saw it.

'Strange, that looks familiar.'

Marissa chuckled lightly at the fight occurring on the screen. "What an interesting design Death_Sun_OMEGA has. I didn't expect that the lower snake body was so he could maintain a mobility advantage even when falling backwards. He's lucky that Thunderspark is a humanoid Mecha though. If it was a beastial Mecha or Avian Mecha, this tactic would fail completely."

Thunderspark was completely unable to close to the gap between the two. The energy shield on it was rapid depleting and everyone could see it visibly as the white color started to fade to blue. Death_Sun_OMEGA's dual machine pistols had a short range but explosive burst volley. Most of its shots missed but the amount of shots it was throwing out was enough to overwhelm Thundersparks shield generator.

However, Thunderspark's name wasn't just for show. The pilot threw the beam sword in its arm at Death_Sun_OMEGA abruptly while its bulky back opened up at the side and stuck out a massive cannon that was as large as Thunderspark was. It then quickly grabbed the cannon off of it's back and dropped to one knee in a smooth motion.

Death_Sun_OMEGA narrowly dodged the beam sword and, upon seeing the cannon in Thunderspark's hands, rapidly retreated at full speed.

Marissa made an interested noise as she sat closer to the Holodisplay, "I didn't expect to see a Mecha actually pull out a rail cannon in a fight. He must have known the type of combat that Death_Sun_OMEGA prefers and baited his opponent in. Since Death_Sun_OMEGA has a thin torso he obviously can't pressure Thunderspark in melee so prevent him from firing the rail cannon. As a result, Death_Sun_OMEGA can only run away but… You can't outrun an electromagnetic shell at that distance."

A rail cannon was big, bulky, and took five seconds to charge it's attack before it could fire once. However, its electromagnetic shell could tear through shield's like they were paper and inflict direct damage to a Mecha. The amount of damage was directly related to the size of the rail cannon due to the electromagnetic shell being able to be larger with a bigger gun.

The size of the cannon that Thunderspark had pulled out was one that a large category Mecha could use. It's power would undoubtedly annihilate a medium sized mecha in one shot.

The cannon whirred to life as bolts of electricity circulated all around it in rapid succession. The bolts came more and more often until the entire outer cover of the cannon was covered in a thick flurry of blue strips. Then, five seconds after the charging began, it fired its load and a black blur appeared for a fraction of a second on the screen.

In the next second, where Death_Sun_OMEGA was, a violent eruption of fire occurred. It completely obscured Death_Sun_OMEGA's Mecha. The results of the shot couldn't be determined immediately.

Altair's eyes widened at the blast. As the screen zoomed out to take in the shockwave from the attack, her face paled. Even if the Mecha she was seeing were only as big as the ones she had seen guarding the Lothan mansion, that attack alone would probably pulverize an Ancient Dragon into dust. Her heart started to race at this realization. 'Even the most basic Mecha are this dangerous?'

Marissa smirked in her chair, "That is an impressive idea from Thunderspark to hide his true weapon until the last second. It really countered Death_Sun_OMEGA's strategy but… I'm afraid that isn't enough to become a Master pilot though."

When the smoke cleared, there was only a crater remaining where the explosion happened. However, inside the crater, was a hole that dug down into the ground. The audience immediately knew what was happening as a result.

The Thunderspark pilot didn't seem to understand what had happened as they had put down their guard at that moment. However, since their victory wasn't announced even after several moments, they quickly figured out that the battle wasn't over and resumed a cautious guard.

"Having a snakes lower body isn't just for an edge in mobility on the ground," Marissa stated flatly as she watched the Holodisplay with interest. "There are other advantages it provides as well."

As she finished her statement, underneath Thunderspark, Death_Sun_OMEGA quickly erupted from the ground. The sudden change in the ground knocked Thunderspark over.

Before Thunderspark could stand back up, Death_Sun_OMEGA wrapped its lower body around Thunderspark's arms, effectively tying the Mecha up. Death_Sun_OMEGA then leaned in with both of its guns and fired at point blank at the upper body of Thunderspark.

At that range, the shield was useless. This was because the guns were now inside the minimum range of the shield. As a result, Thunderspark was riddled with holes within moments. After a few quick volley's, Death_Sun_OMEGA quickly retreated out a distance while continuing to fire at Thunderspark.

As Death_Sun_OMEGA was retreating, Thunderspark's Mecha exploded into a heap of metal and scrap that scattered about the area. The explosion was larger than Death_Sun_OMEGA had anticipated and he wound up getting caught in the blast wave.

Once the smoke cleared, though, Death_Sun_OMEGA was still mostly intact.

Marissa smirked at this performance. "I didn't expect the battle to end so soon," she said as she leaned back in the couch and put her hand around Altair's shoulder again. "Unfortunately, I don't think either of them will be able to advance with their skill. They are still relying too much on tricks and are not thinking about what the other party is capable of with their Mecha designs."
