Altair decided to take her mind off of what he was doing and consider what he had told her. He was very skilled at making her unsettled with just his words and actions. Altair was completely unable to stomach what he was doing to do but she had no choice.

Liam's words passed through her mind about how they knew she wasn't a Human. Since they knew that, then what were their plans for her? What was the purpose of teaching her their language and keeping her in such good conditions?

From what Liam said about what would happen to her if what she could do got out to others, she knew that she could end up in a far worse situation than what that God's Hero had threatened to do with her. At that thought, she suddenly wondered if her Teleporting away was really a good idea…

Then her thoughts turned to the bombshell she was too shocked at the time to accept.

'They're Humans.' That was what Liam had essentially told her. He denied her thoughts about them being Gods to her face, scoffed at the very notion really. Then He declared them Humans. And yet, they didn't seem to know that she was a Demi-Human.

She had all the characteristics of being a Demi-Human but they were currently not visible for reasons she still didn't know. She wondered what they would do when they showed back up again, or rather, if they ever showed back up again.

Still, they didn't seem to know about Mana. Instead they had that other power, the Spiritual Self, in its place. She lacked a lot of information on that power but one thing was for sure, it was a power that other races had as well. Yet, if Liams presence was worth anything, the other races didn't seem to be suppressed and in a total war with the Humans.

There were similarities to the Humans she knew and the Humans that were here. Yet, she wasn't being treated as a Demi-Human because they didn't know that she was one yet. She wondered what they would do when they found out.

'They will probably do exactly what Liam said.' Altair's thoughts turned sour at that idea.

'But wait, isn't he a healer? …If they don't know about Mana and Magic then, could I trick Liam into healing me?'

Altair grinned in her mind but kept her expression neutral. She looked at Liam who was doing who-knows-what to her insides and asked, "You're a healer, right?"

Liam looked at her with a mocking expression, "Just because I'm a hacker doesn't mean I am not proficient in the healing practice. I was forced to adapt to be a hacker because healing jobs are rare these days."

Altair kept a neutral face as she started to feel nervous. She wondered if Liam would see through her next question and expose her. She quickly dismissed this as a needless worry. 'Liam may be smarter than me but I know more about what I am than he does.'

She probingly asked, "Aren't you going to cure me then?"

How could Liam miss her accelerated heart rate? Her heart was literally exposed to his eyes at that moment. He noticed the change but his thoughts went in a different direction. Liam sighed heavily, "You foolish girl. I am your personal doctor officially, so I will just tell you right now: I have already fixed you up." One of Liam's hands rose up and started to count as he listed what he had done, "You had damage to the part of your brain that stores memories. While your memories cannot be recovered, the damage has been reversed so you won't have any long term complications. You also had damage to the nerves connected to your hands."

Liam gazed deeply into Altair's eyes while asking, "You have had problems grabbing things recently, right? That should be fixed now." Liam looked back at her insides and added, "Lastly, your bones had a lot of cracks in them. Particularly your arms, and the tendons were strained as well. Added to the swelling your brain was having when you came in..." Liam's voice drifted off as the utterly baffled look Altair was giving he was noticed. Liam sighed lightly, "To sum it up, you're body is perfectly fine now. You shouldn't have any problems. So, I've already healed you."

Altair just wanted to trick him into curing the poison in her body. She didn't expect to get bombarded with a bunch of details she didn't understand. But, one thing was clear to her, the poison in her was still there and Liam apparently didn't know about it. 'They really don't know. No wonder they didn't do anything different when they found out that I was poisoned. …Just where am I exactly?'

She took a slightly deeper breath to prepare herself as she trudged forth with her trick, "What about the poison?"

Liam gave her a blank stare, "What Poison? I didn't detect any poison."

Altair attempted to put on the most serious expression she could, even though she was shaking inside, "My innards are not naturally green colored. The poison in my blood was already removed but I didn't expect it to have extended to my innards. Aren't you going to cure it?"

Liam looked at her stomach with a contemplating expression. He remained quiet for a while before he turned around and walked to a nearby table. He rummaged through the things on it for a short time before coming back with multiple glass rings over one of his eyes. he then gazed back into Altair and twisted the glass over his eyes multiple times, staring unblinkingly at her.

After a long silence, Liam finally asked in a grave tone, "You aren't lying to me, are you?"

Altair shook her head even though Liam wasn't looking at her, "No. I have been poisoned for a long time now. You can ask Donel. He was there when they treated my blood."

A sly smile crept onto Liam's face. It chilled Altair to the bone. "Fascinating. From what I can tell, it seems to have merged with your organs on a molecular level." Liam looked at Altair with eyes filled with fire, "I haven't seen anything like this before. Just what is this poison?"

Altair was prepared for this question. She instantly blurted out, "I don't know." There was no way she could tell the truth about it. If she did they probably wouldn't cure her. If they could cure the poison and she could trick them into doing it, then what was the problem? She just had to stay a bit longer for them to do it is all.

It definitely wasn't because she wanted to stay longer. That had absolutely no effect on her decision at all. Or so she subconsciously told herself.

A gleeful expression came to Liam's face, "Well then, I have a lot of experimenting to do, don't I?" He grabbed something from the table that Altair couldn't see and added, "I will need to take some samples for study. I need to infect other creatures and attempt various things for a cure. But don't worry, I will be sure to find one, or I'm your uncle!"

Altair went silent as Liam worked. It seemed that she managed to get what she wanted from the strange person. She mentally sighed in relief.

As time seemed to slowly pass, another thought occurred to her. 'He said I don't have a Spiritual Self so how do I get one?' She affixed him with a curious look, 'Will he tell me if I ask?'

She gulped down the question that was about to come out. 'Can't do it. He's too dangerous. Just because he's trying to cure me doesn't mean he can be trusted.'

In Renald's office, on the top floor of the mansion, Mihael had just finished explaining how Altair came to be inured, from his perspective. He did not see Altair throw the shadow spear or create the shadow spear. He only saw the Madroople's head explode as if it was pierced. At the time, he dismissed it because of the need to heal Altair.

But now that he had a few moments to think about it he came to the conclusion that it must be related to the reason Renald adopted her. The girl was obviously extremely stupid. She was stupid enough to go into a live ATR, after all. She also acted like a total weirdo in the halls of the Servants Quarters and needed Donel to teach her everything. She even almost killed herself in the bath because she couldn't figure out how to turn the damn thing off.

If she wasn't an idiot then Mihael wasn't a man.

Renald rubbed his chin as he looked at a corner of the room. He was obviously deep in his own thoughts at what he had been told just now. Mihael knew to not interrupt him at all and remained standing respectfully with his hands behind his back.

'That girl,' Renald thought, 'she managed to kill a Madroople with its weakness. I thought she was a harmless child given that Joshua had brutalized her. It seems I need to re-evaluate that assessment.'

He noticed that MIhael was still in the room and said, "Have them bring me all footage of the ATR since she went inside. Make sure the footage is focused on her and bring me all of it." He then motioned with his hand that Mihael was dismissed and returned to his thoughts.

Mihael nodded in understanding and turned to leave without a word.

Renald turned his chair to the window behind him and gazed out at the sky. 'What else are you hiding, I wonder. And just how did you puncture the Madroople's core? Are those creatures indigenous on your world, perhaps? Or are they similar to something you have there?'

He clenched his fists tightly, 'I can't wait for the day we can actually speak to each other so I can get all the answers I need.'
