In the Recovery Room, Rictor just got out of a healing pod. He was the least injured of the group when Altair went wild amongst them. Even though he had just gotten out and was fully healed, his head still hurt. He had a headache now but he had a concussion before going in so he was much better off.

The rest of his friends were still in their respective healing pods. The most injured among them was Alice as she had failed to even reinforce her body with Spiritual Energy before she took Altair's attacks. However, she would still make a full recovery in an hour or two so it wasn't too big of an issue.

Rictor lay on a bed in the recovery room as he stared up at the ceiling. He was trying to figure out why Altair suddenly attacked Joshua. He was not close enough to hear what she had said to him in response to his words so he was completely lost on the reasoning behind it. The only thing he was thinking about her right now was how mentally unstable she was.

Rictor was aiming to be a doctor in the future. He was even taking extra classes at the academy that concerned the mental and body health. They were introductory classes designed to weed out those who thought they wanted to be a doctor but would actually lack the ability to do. There was nothing extremely advanced as part of the classes, however there was a lot to learn concerning mental health problems.

That was why Rictor thought that Altair was mentally unstable due to her psychotic attack against them. Something must have triggered it as she was completely different from how she was acting just a few moments ago. It was either that or she was a psychopath who was acting when they first came in but showed her true colors when she was agitated. Either way, she was an extremely dangerous person that the military would love to have as she was now.

She also fought like a wraith in his opinion. The way she fought was not something he had ever seen before. It wasn't an amateur way of fighting too. It was clear to him that she wasn't fighting on instinct but with a cold and calculative fighting style that wasn't similar at all to how people in the Empire fought.

The way she fought made him think that she was a demon out of an ancient battlefield. It had no adherence to common dangers that were incorporated into how they were taught.

But Altair was supposed to have amnesia so how did she know how to fight like that?

It didn't make any sense to him and he couldn't figure out the reason. The only thing that came to mind was that she didn't have amnesia but even Joshua had told them that she couldn't speak their language. Since she didn't even know their language then what else could it be if not amnesia? You couldn't teach someone how to fight if you couldn't even communicate with them to correct any bad behaviors they would develop.

A bell sounded to Rictor's right and he turned his head over.

Liam walked over to a healing pod and drained it. At the same time, two other bells went off right next to it and Liam drained them as well. The first pod he drained belonged to their giant friend Dornom. Vargol and Joshua's healing finished at the same time as they had similar injuries.

Rictor sat up from his chair to and waited as his friends stumbled out of their healing pods. They probably all had headaches as every single one of them was concussed from what Altair did to them. Sure enough, the first thing all three of them did was curse while holding their heads.

Liam gave them a mocking smile while saying, "Do try to be more careful next time. My job isn't to take care of you so I would appreciate it if you didn't visit often."

Rictor shook his head while his friends started to fling insults at Liam. They were ignored as Liam walked out of the room. Alice's treatment would still be another two hours so there was no point to remain there.

Rictor was surprised that they had a Thradii doctor though. They were notoriously expensive doctors in the Empire. Given how dangerous Altair was, he decided to assume it was because of her presence that Liam was here. They also had strange personality quirks that were inherent to their race.

Vargol and Dornom looked around and saw where they were. They also noticed that Alice wasn't standing with them and Vargol's expression turned thunderous at that sight. Unlike Vargol's anger having risen again, Dornom looked unhappy.

Joshua had an irritated expression when he was climbing out and still maintained it as he walked to a seat nearby. Once he sat down he shot an expectant look at Rictor and asked, "Is your curiosity satisfied now?"

Before Rictor could say anything, Vargol slammed his hand down on a table near Alice's pod. He had stormed over there as soon as he saw where she was. Upon seeing the condition she was still in his anger seemed to grow threefold. He then angrily said, "That bastard will pay for this. Alice was clearly not involved so why did she attack her?" He turned his head to Joshua and shouted, "What the hell is wrong with your sister?!"

Joshua's returned a red-faced look to Vargol as he angrily shouted back at him, "That servant girl isn't my sister!" He did not want to admit to that point even if it cost him his life. He found it to be completely degrading to his reputation and was unable to accept it.

Vargol only grew angrier with Joshua's words. It was like he was trying to avoid any of the blame by claiming they weren't family when his words couldn't change the facts. "Then what's she doing in your house with guards and personal maids?! You think a servant gets to have those!?"

Joshua suddenly felt blamed for the entire fiasco that just happened. He could guess what happened after he blacked out with everyone being in the recovery room. Since there was no sign of Altair it didn't take a genius to put the pieces together. "As if I chose to have that bitch added to my family!"

"You didn't tell us she was so violent!" With no outlet for his anger and Joshua actively fighting back with him, Vargol found himself blaming Joshua for what happened. Even he didn't realize how childish he was being at that moment.

Joshua angrily stood from the chair and aggressively walked toward Vargol. "You wouldn't listen even if I did!" His friends continued to pester him to see Altair. They were all so curious and came up with any number of excuses to see her. Now he was being blamed for her attacking them when they didn't listen to how much he didn't want to bring them in. He found himself struggling to control his anger. He really wanted to show Vargol just where his place was!

With his headache getting amplified by the shouting and seeing that another fight was about to happen in the recovery room, Rictor quickly stood between them and tried to keep them separated as he attempted to calm them down. "Your anger is misplaced! Calm down, both of you!"

They both turned their glares on him and shouted at the same time, "Stay out of this!"

With them about to push him out of the way, Rictor glanced at Dornom with a pleading look, obviously asking for help. Dornom didn't want his friends to fight each other so he walked up and grabbed Vargol from behind to keep him separated from Joshua. He knew he would probably not be able to keep hold of Joshua so he decided to grab Vargol instead.

Vargol struggled against him but it was useless. He lacked the strength and height to effectively escape Dornom's hold.

Joshua, seeing Vargol completely defenseless, felt now was the best time to attack him, but Rictor stubbornly stood in front of him like a wall. He couldn't bring himself to attack Rictor given their history together and how he knew that Rictor was right. He still didn't want to admit being wrong or apologize to Vargol though so he turned away with a huff and walked back to his chair.

Vargol, seeing that he couldn't get out of Dornom's grasp, gave up resisting as well and just glared at Rictor and Joshua before him.

Rictor breathed a sigh of relief as the problem was diffused for now. It wouldn't stay that way forever if he didn't completely put it out though. There would probably come a time when Vargol and Joshua fought seriously but that could be delayed until they would benefit from it. It would be best if they only did that during the ranking tournament. He looked between them and said, "There are bigger things we need to talk about than this."

He looked at Joshua and continued, "It's obvious that your adoptive sister is absurdly strong."

Dornom interrupted him, "She's like a monster really. She doesn't follow any of the proper rules for dueling and uses weapons when they shouldn't be allowed." He was still greatly offended that Altair hit him where it hurts and attacked him with a vase. It ruined the whole sportsmanship of dueling. Even a battle maniac like himself found the fun in fighting to be non-existent against such a person.

Rictor glanced at Dornom before reluctantly nodded while saying, "I agree. She is very much like a monster."
