Trax scratched his head briefly as the sounds of people moving about came from the hallway. He sighed lightly before saying, "Celestine there's really nothing that can be done now. Anything short of an adult coming to get her out won't work. Unless you really think you can overpower a dozen adults to get Aria out then you should just accept what's happened and face reality."

Hadrian looked over Altair from where he was sitting and asked, "You're still injured? How bad is it?" He knew that the way she was treated for injuries was different due to his last visit but why was it taking so long? It didn't make sense to him why it was so slow for her.

Altair expressionlessly stated, "I apologize but I cannot answer your question for the same reasons as before." That wasn't true through. Altair could easily answer his questions but she didn't want to. He was the one who started all of this noble garbage for her to deal with. Granted she would be able to not have any more noble training if she passed the test Sarah gave her, she still didn't want to even be here to begin with.

Altair wasn't even that injured anymore. She couldn't feel the little amount of pain she would have felt because of the medicine she was on but even without them it would only be a minor nuisance. She had been using her Mana to heal herself according to what she had found out so far and was almost completely healed by this point. Although she hadn't tried to use any Mana after it all dissipated earlier in the morning.

Hadrian frowned at Altair, "Why is your treatment a secret anyway? What possible reason could there be for you to not tell us how your injuries are healed?" He didn't believe there was a need for it to be kept a secret. It was all too suspicious to him. If Altair got injured here how were they supposed to treat her? What if she got injured at the academy? Keeping it secret only put Altair in danger.

Altair shook her head before replying, "It puts me in danger for you to know that."

Hadrian's frown deepened but before he could say anything more Trax turned to him and asked, "How did she get injured anyway?"

Hadrian cast a glance at him before saying, "Well, least time we went to her home, Aria-" He was interrupted by the drapes being pulled open and three adults looked into the room. They were two guards and a servant of the Lothan house.

The servant smiled at them and said, "Young Master, Esteemed Guests, the festivities are about to begin. Please follow me and I will take you to them." He then took a couple steps back and moved to the side while watching them from where he stood. He was obviously waiting for them to leave the room.

Celestine's head was hanging in defeat when the drapes were pulled open. She looked up and saw the guards and knew that there was literally nothing she could do to stop Altair from participating in the event today. If she hadn't insisted on speaking with her brother in private then she could have had Altair leave the room and that would have kept her out of it. But now it was too late for that.

Hadrian, Trax, and Celestine all stood to their feet and walked out of the room. The servant turned and started walking away with them following behind him as they went.

Altair was the last one in the room and the guards kept their eyes on her. She sighed lightly before standing to her feet unsure of what was even happening right now. They were being taken to some kind of noble thing she was sure of it. She remembered that man telling Joshua that the event today was likely to be entertaining so she figured it had something to do with combat since every noble child she had met so far had wanted to fight in some way.

She walked out of the alcove and went after the others while the two guards walked behind her. Despite being surrounded by servants and guards all day every day at the Marnithok mansion she still kept tabs on where people who were armed were around her at all times. This was a relic of when she spied on Humans in her old world. Even now she kept herself aware of where they were in relation to her despite knowing they would do nothing to her.

Altair was led back to the main room that was now empty of all life except those she was walking with. She was then led into a very small square room where the others were waiting. The two guards entered after her and the door to the room closed followed by an immediate feeling like she was floating in the air.

Altair had no idea what was happening as this was the first time she had been on an elevator and there was no windows to see what was happening. She felt very uncomfortable because she didn't have her shadow wings on but she couldn't use that kind of magic here and she was sure that all of her Mana would disperse very quickly if she used it that way anyway.

They all stood in silence in the elevator until it arrived at an underground room. The doors opened and the two guards promptly stepped outside then to the side for everyone to get off. Altair walked off first and was followed closely by the others.

The room she stepped into was a smaller lounge type room with multiple couches arranged in rows and a large set of doors at the end. It was filled with servants and other guards moving about doing things Altair couldn't figure out.

Trax walked ahead of them with Celestine and Hadrian following closely behind him. Figuring that she would be pushed if she didn't follow as well, Altair went after them as well. Trax walked over to the door on the other end of the room and it opened when he approached so he continued to walk through it along with the others. The door closed immediately after Altair went through it.

The room they entered was as massive as a field and had dozens of kids scattered about the room seemingly at random. The room was also very plain and mostly unadorned as well except for some weapons stuck to the wall at equal distances apart. The people who were the furthest away from Altair could barely be seen with the distance between them. Towards the roof that was over fifteen meters up was a ledge that some adults were looking over to watch the kids and Altair immediately guessed that this was some kind of coliseum type of entertainment. The kids themselves would be entertaining the adults.

Some of the kids in the room had weapons pulled from the wall. Altair recognized almost all of the types as weapons she had seen in her old world. She also noticed something very strange about the arrangement of people who had weapons. The vast majority of them were children that looked maybe eight years old at most. There were some adolescents who had them that appeared to be older than Trax but they were few and far between. As for the kids in between those age groups, none of them had weapons of any kind in their hands. Altair had no idea why that was the case.

The reason was actually quite simple if someone knew the education system of the Empire. It was better to use a fighting style you were familiar with and had experience with than something you had no idea how to use. That was why all of the adolescents in between those age groups didn't use any weapon at all and preferred to be unarmed. Also, children didn't have any real training to speak of so grabbing and using a weapon made no difference to them. As for the older people, they would usually be trained in a weapon of their choice or dabbled in using weapons.

Trax walked off without saying anything and so did Hadrian. They both walked off in different directions into the arena. Celestine was about to do so as well but Altair grabbed the sleeve of her dress to stop her from leaving her without any information. Altair didn't like not knowing what was happening since she came to the Empire.

Celestine gave Altair a questioning look as she asked, "What's wrong?"

Altair stared at her with cold eyes as she asked, "What are we doing here?"

Celestine's brows rose slightly to this question before she replied, "I have no idea. It's different every time." She looked around the room briefly before pointing towards some weapons nearby and adding, "Feel free to pick a weapon if you want. Basically you spread out until the event begins and… Well, you figure out the rules as you go really. It's always random."

Altair frowned at her but Celestine walked off in a seemingly random direction. Altair looked at the weapons at the side and considered what to do. If truth be told Altair was far more skilled with weapons than being unarmed. She was confident that if she had a Bo Staff then she would have clobbered Celestine in their fight against each other. She had a wide array of experience with weapons of all types that she had seen before. It was her specialty in combat to constantly change weapons by using her Shadow Magic to change the form of her weapon on the fly but the one she had the most experience with and was most comfortable with was the Bo Staff.
